<strong>زمینه و هدف</strong>: علی‏رغم انبوه مقالات موجود پیرامون کودکان کم‏شنوا، مقالات معدودی به‏طور خاص به والدین و مشکلات فراروی آنان در پرورش کودکان کم‏شنوا پرداخته‏اند. در فرایند رشد، اولین تعامل کودک با والدینش صورت می‏گیرد. در برنامه‏های مداخلات زودرس کیفیت تعامل و پرورش کودکان کم‏شنوا نقش مؤثری را در پیشرفت بعدی کودک کم‏شنوا ایفا می‏کند. هـدف این مقالـه بررسی جنبـه‏های مختلف پرورش فرزنـدان کم‏شنـوا از دیـدگاه‏ًهای مختلف است.<br>
<strong>روش بررسی</strong>: در این مقاله به جنبه‏های مختلف پرورش فرزندان کم‏شنوا از دیدگاه مطالعات انجام یافته از بانک‏های اطلاعاتی Medline، Proquest و Scopus و نیز کتاب‏های معتبر از سال 1984 تا 2009 پرداخته می‏شود. نقش‏های نیمه تخصصی والدین برای فرزندانشان فشاری مضاعف بر آنها وارد می‏کند و دیگر جنبه‏های به همان اندازه پر اهمیت نقش آنها را ـ به‏عنوان یک پدر و یک مادرـ در پرورش فرزندانشان به‏شدت متأثر می‏کند. پرورش کودک کم‏شنوا با توجه به مسائل بسیاری از جمله نوع و میزان کم‏شنوایی، سن کودک و ویژگی‏های شخصیتی والدین، اثرات متفاوتی بر آنها بر جا می‏گذارد.<br>
<strong>نتیجه‏گیری</strong>: پرورش کودک کم‏شنوا هم مشابه و هم متفاوت با پرورش هر فرزند دیگری است. هر جا تفاوتی هست، چالشی نیز هست. از این‏رو حمایت، پشتیبانی و مشاوره‏های کارشناسان و دیگر والدین در این راستا مورد نیاز و بسیار ارزشمند است.

<p><strong>Background and Aim</strong>: Despite the abundance of literature about deaf children, few works specifically address the concept and practice of difficulties in parenting hearing-impaired children. The first interactions of the child are with his parents, and parents have the most important role in child improvements during early intervention programs. The main purpose of this paper was to investigate different aspects of parenting hearing-impaired children. </p>
<p><strong>Methods</strong>: In this article, we reviewed all aspects of parenting hearing-impaired children in papers from 1984-2009 in Medline, Scopus and Proquest and relative textbooks. The semi-professional role of parents of hearing-impaired children make them feel under excessive stress and this usually affects their other roles as fathers and mothers. Many factors including child age, type of hearing loss and parents' individual characteristics may influence the impact of child's hearing loss on parents.</p>
<p><strong>Conclusion</strong>: Parenting a hearing-impaired child is both similar and different to parenting any other child. Where there are differences, there are usually challenges too. Taking support and advice from professionals and other parents are necessary and invaluable for parents of hearing-impaired children.</p>
