fa چالش‌های دندان‌پزشکان در درمان بیماران مبتلا به ایدز پژوهشي Research اپیدمی‌های هراس‌انگیز و کشنده‌ی ناشی از بیماری‌های سرایت‌کننده از طریق خون، در نسل‌‌های گذشته و حتی در طول تاریخ دندان‌پزشکی هرگز جزء نگران کننده‌ای از کار نبوده است زیرا این حرفه همواره در حفظ بهبود سلامت دهان بیماران بسیار موفق عمل کرده است. به همین دلیل سؤالاتی از این دست که آیا درمان‌های دندان‌پزشکی قادر به ایجاد و گسترش HIV و ایدز می‌باشند به دقت مورد بحث قرار نگرفته است و هیچ منبعی با پاسخ سنجیده و جامع به این سؤالات برای رجوع دندان‌پزشکان وجود ندارد.<br>در حقیقت، چندین نسل از دندان‌پزشکان یا به‌طور عمومی ارائه‌دهندگان خدمات بهداشتی، بدون در نظر گرفتن این احتمال که درمان‌های دندان‌پزشکی ممکن است جان بیمارانشان را در معرض خطر یک عفونت کشنده قرار دهد یا حتی احتمال فراگیر شدن یک ویروس کشنده را پیش‌بینی کنند، کارشان را انجام داده‌اند. پس تعجب‌آور نیست که هنجارهای رفتاری که دندان‌پزشکان امروزی در سال‌های شکل‌گیری خود آموخته‌اند، قادر نباشند تا به سؤالاتی که امروزه دندان‌پزشکان به‌علت HIV و ایدز با آن رو به رو می‌شوند پاسخ واضحی بدهند. در مقاله‌ی حاضر این مسأله از دو جنبه‌ی وظایف اخلاقی و حرفه‌ای در مقابل بیماران HIV مثبت مورد بررسی قرار می‌گیرد.</p> </span> In the past generations and throughout the history of dentistry, horrific and deadly epidemics of the diseases transmitted through blood have not been a concern for those in the dental care profession. This has been due to the success of this profession in maintaining the oral health of patients. Questions such as whether dental treatments can potentially spread HIV and AIDS have therefore not been discussed extensively, and there seems to be a shortage of reference for dentists to find comprehensive and accurate answers to these questions. As a matter of fact, several generations of dentists, and health care providers in general, have continued to perform their duties despite the possibility that they could be exposing their patients to a deadly infection, and have not even apprehended a fatal pandemic. Consequently, it is not surprising that the professional norms that today’s dentists were educated on during their training years should fail to give clear answers to their questions regarding AIDS and HIV nowadays.
