AR-SA A research was done in oral medicine department
of Tehran University dental faculty. 50 patients (23f/ 27m) diagnosed with
generalized periodontitis were selected. Questionnaires were obtained including
information about demography, familial marriage, hygiene level, frequency of
dental visits, teeth brushing, gingival health condition, tooth mobility and
bone loss. Furthermore, blood sugar was assessed and compared via following
laboratory exams: GTT 2hr, FBS GTT 3hr, GTT 0.5 hr, GTT 1hr.

AR-SA Buccal surface of Extracted permanent teeth was
divided into two parts and etched by 30, 37, 50 and 60% concentrations of
phosphoric acid gel and solution. Sealant replica was obtained from the etched
surfaces of 50% gel and solution and the samples were examined by scanning
electron microscope (SEM). Various views were found on replica. Gels are more
effective than solutions and the concentration of 37-40% was found the most
efficient one for acid-etching.

AR-SA Palatal lift appliances are used when the soft
palate is anatomically normal but dysfunctional and patients suffer from speech
problems while surgical correction is not possible. The aim of these prostheses
is lifting soft palate to its normal level in order to achieve palatopharyngeal
competence. The prostheses are designed based on maximum retention to keep soft
palate in new position without prosthesis displacement. Various methods of
constructing these appliances are mentioned and discussed in this article.

AR-SA Recurrent aphthous is a painful condition with
10-12% prevalence in the world. Considerable evidence are existed about the
relationship between cellular immune response and recurrent aphthous .In this
regard, present study carried out to analyze lymphocyte phenotype in patients
with aphthous stomatitis in both active and remission phases of the disease .
The results showed CD4 T-lymphocytes are decreased during active phase while
there were insignificant changes in CD3 and CD8 T-lymphocytes count compared to
normal population. CD4/CD8 ratio was also decreased (P≤0.05). CD16 killer
lymphocytes and CD19 cells were increased significantly in active phase of the
disease (P≤0.05).

AR-SA The accuracy of relined impressions is usually
acceptable and in some cases is even more accurate than principal impression.
Relined Polysulfide and condensational silicone impressions are more accurate
than polyether impressions. The reline method compared to retaking them is more
economic and needs less chair time.

AR-SA By development of medical technology, new
horizons are opened in treatment of patients. Nowadays, laser has become a
surgical appliance that has made impossible possible. Physical characteristics
of laser as well as specific adjustability of it provided much unbelievable
potential to surgeons. The most primary step in order to use this novel
technology is to identify its physical and technical characteristics.

Explanation and definition of the disease depend on many factors and is characteristics to each patient. 3 types of this syndrome have been defined. Almost all oral disease specialists believe that burning mouth syndrome is multifactorial and have not mentioned any specific risk factor for it. Currently, etiologic factors are divided into 3 groups of local, systemic and psychological factors.
