other فراوانی انتروویروس های غیرپولیویی در بیماران فلج شل حاد در ایران قبل و در حین همه‌گیری COVID-19 Frequency of Non-Polio Enteroviruses Among Acute Flaccid Paralysis Patients in Iran Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic بهداشت عمومی Public Health پژوهشي Research زمینه و هدف: در طول همه‌گیری COVID-19، اقدامات و پروتوکل های بهداشتی عمومی مانند شستن منظم دست‌ها و استفاده از ماسک در سطح ملی توصیه شد. اجرای این پروتوکل های بهداشتی باعث کاهش شیوع انواع بیماری های تنفسی شد ولی هیچ مطالعه ای برای بررسی تاثیر اجرای این پروتکلها بر روی شیوع ویروسهایی که از طریق مدفوعی- دهانی منتقل می شوند صورت نگرفته است. از آنجا که انتروویروس های غیر پولیویی Non-Polio Enteroviruses; (NPEVs) عمدتا از طریق مدفوعی- دهانی منتقل می شوند، در این مطالعه شیوع انتروویروس های غیرپولیویی در بیماران فلج شل حاد Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) در ایران قبل و در حین همه‌گیری COVID-19 بررسی شده است. روش کار: برای تشخیص انتروویروس های غیر پولیویی، نمونه‌های مدفوع موارد AFP که توسط آزمایشگاه ملی فلج اطفال ایران در سال 2019 (قبل از همه‌گیری COVID-19) و سال 2021 (در طول همه‌گیری COVID-19) دریافت شده بودند، مورد آزمایش قرار گرفتند. برای جداسازی NPEVs با کشت سلولی، از پروتوکل استاندارد WHO و برای تست مولکولی TaqMan One-Step Real Time PCR  استفاده شد. نتایج: در سال 2019، 21 نمونه از 1070  بیمار  با کشت سلولی و 12 نمونه از 100 بیمار  به روش مولکولی از نظر انتروویروس غیرپولیویی مثبت بودند، در حالیکه این نسبت در سال 2021 به 10 نمونه از  678 بیمار  با کشت سلولی و 3 نمونه از 100 بیمار  به روش مولکولی  کاهش پیدا کرد.  نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه به معنی دار بودن نتایج این مطالعه می توان تایید کرد که رعایت بهداشت شخصی و پروتکل های بهداشت عمومی در طول همه‌گیری COVID-19، علاوه بر کاهش عمومی انتقال تنفسی ویروس ها، بر انتقال مدفوعی- دهانی ویروس ها هم اثر گذاشته است.   Background and Aim: During the COVID-19 pandemic public health measures and protocols such as regular hand washing and wearing a face mask were recommended at the national level. The implementation of these health protocols reduced the prevalence of respiratory diseases, but no study has been conducted to investigate the impact of the implementation of these protocols on the spread of viruses that are transmitted through fecal-oral route. Considering that non-polio enteroviruses (NPEVs) are mainly transmitted through fecal-oral route, this study was conducted to determine the prevalence of non-polio enteroviruses in patients with acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) in Iran before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: To detect non-polio enteroviruses stool samples of AFP cases received by Iran National Polio Laboratory in 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic) and 2021 (during the COVID-19 pandemic) were tested. To isolate NPEVs by cell culture, the WHO standard protocol was used, and the TaqMan One-Step Real Time PCR was used for molecular testing. Results: In 2019, a sample of 21 out of 1070 patients and a sample of 12 out of 100 patients were found to be positive for non-polio enterovirus by cell culture and the molecular method, respectively; these ratios decreased to10 out of 678 and 3 out of 100 in 2021.
