Abstract
Background: Cytokines are immune related factors. Production of pro inflammatory cytokines in diabetic patients is increased, which is exacerbated by vigorous training. This study investigates the response of serum IL-2 and IL-4 to eight-week high Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) with caffeine intake on inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses in diabetic rats.
Methods: In a clinical-interventional animal study, 50 male rats were randomly assigned to 5 equal groups (control group (C), diabetes group (D), diabetes + caffeine group (D+Ca), diabetes + training group (D+T), diabetes + training + caffeine group (D+Ca+T)) and subjected to 8 weeks of caffeine supplementation (70 mg / kg of caffeine powder was injected five days each week) and 8 weeks of 5 sessions per week with 6 to 12 times, 2-min intervals with intensity of 85-90% of maximal speed. 48 hours after the last training session, immunological factors including IL-2 and IL-4 were measured. Statistical analysis of variables was performed using One-way ANOVA and Tukey tests at the significant level (P<0.05).
Results: The results showed that (D+Ca) group had the lowest IL2 in comparison with (D) group (P= 0.001). IL-4 had the highest in (D+Ca) and (D+Ca+T) groups (P = 0.001). But these differences were not statistically significant between (D+Ca) and (D+Ca+T) groups (P= 0.67).
Conclusion: It seems that caffeine to play a role in improving the status of IL-2 and IL-4 in streptozotocin-induced diabetes, but HIIT exercises are not effective in this regard.

Abstract
Background: Interval exercises with high intensity and consumption of plant extracts probably have beneficial effects on inflammatory indicators. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and the consumption of Loquat leaf extract on the serum levels of TNF-α and interleukin-18 in obese men with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Methods: In this semi-experimental study, forty men with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease with body mass index (33.92 ± 1.82) with informed written consent were randomly selected and assigned into four groups: control, training, Extract, Extract + training (Each group of 10 people). Exercises were performed for eight weeks and three sessions per week for 60 minutes with intensity between 80-95% of the reserve heart rate. Two capsules of 250 mg of Loquat leaf extract were also prescribed daily. Paired t-test and analysis of covariance were used.
Results: A significant decrease in the levels of TNF-α (15.3%) and interleukin 18 (14.9%) was observed in the training + extract group (P<0.05). A significant difference was observed in the levels of TNF-α (P=0.001) and interlock 18 (P=0.001) between the groups, and these changes were more significant in the Extract + training group than in the training and extract groups.
Conclusions: It is concluded that performing intense intermittent training along with Loquat leaf extract will be able to improve TNF-α and interleukin 18 indices related to fatty liver in people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. However, confirmation of this hypothesis requires more research.

Abstract
Introduction: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of combined exercise and consumption of grape seed extract on some factors of oxidative and antioxidant stress in postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes.
Materials and Methods: The current study was conducted as a clinical trial in 80 women with type 2 diabetes, who were randomly divided into four groups (20 people): control, exercise, GSE supplement, exercise+ GSE supplement. The combined exercise protocol consisted of aerobic and strength training, which was performed for eight weeks (five days/week). GSE supplement was taken in the form of 200 mg capsules daily (morning and noon). Samples (five cc) were taken before and after eight weeks of interventions. In order to investigate intra-group and inter-group changes, two-way analysis of variance test, followed by Tukey's post hoc test, was used by SPSS version 25 (p≤0.05).
Results: The values of total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and serum glutathione reduction (GSH) in the GSE and exercise + GSE groups increased significantly compared to the control and exercise groups (p=0.001). Serum malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in the GSE group showed a significant decrease compared to the control and exercise groups (p=0.001).
Conclusion: It seems that the intervention of grape seed extract is more effective in reducing oxidative stress than combined exercise. The consumption of this extract alone, as well as with combined exercise, has a significant effect on increasing the total antioxidant capacity and reducing GSH (glutathione).
