Abstract

Background: Diabetes is one of the major health problems in Iran and about 4.6 million adults suffer from this disease. Poor diagnosis of this disease has caused half of this number to be unaware of their disease. In recent years, along with the use of computers in data analysis and storage, the volume and complexity of data has increased dramatically.
Methods: In health organizations, data play an essential role in the value of the organization. Therefore, data mining has become one of the most widely used processes in the field of health and disease diagnosis. In this study, the information of 768 laboratory clients in Tehran was kept confidential and the opinions of experts were used to identify the variables affecting the incidence of diabetes.
Results: The findings indicate the study of 5 algorithms on the presented data, which by implementing 5 data mining algorithms J48, Bayes, Beginning, Cohen and simple clustering to classify the data, the efficiency of these algorithms in terms of speed and accuracy in calculations was evaluated.
Conclusion: The data set for classification is the database of a laboratory, which includes 768 samples with 9 characteristics. Finally, J48 algorithm is recommended for data mining of diabetes due to high speed, acceptable accuracy and lack of sensitivity to raw data.

Abstract

Background: Because insulin therapy cannot properly control the progression of diabetes and its complications, other alternative therapies may be desirable. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of resistance training and endothelial stem cell injection on skeletal muscle oxidant and antioxidant status in STZ-induced diabetic male rats.
Method: In this experimental study, 36 male Wistar rats (age 6 weeks) were divided into six groups of control (healthy), basal diabetic control, diabetic control, diabetes + stem cell injection, diabetes + resistance training and diabetes + stem cell injection + resistance training. In this study, rats became diabetic intraperitoneally using streptozotocin as a single dose of 40 mg/kg. Resistance exercises including climbing a one-meter ladder with weights hanging from the tail were performed for 17 sessions. 500,000 bone-derived stem cells were injected by a cell counter. The levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in skeletal muscle tissue of rat were measured by using the kit and ELISA method.
Results: The results showed that the SOD level of rats in the resistance training and endothelial stem cell injection group was significantly higher than the diabetic control group (P<0.001). Also, the level of MDA rats in the resistance training and endothelial stem cell injection group was significantly lower than the control group (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Resistance training and endothelial stem cell injections can be considered as a non-pharmacological treatment to reduce skeletal muscle complications in type 1 diabetes.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes is an important factor in heart defects that can lead to atrophy of heart cells. Exercise can prevent the complications of diabetes by regulating cellular factors. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of endurance and high-intensity interval training on the content MSTN and Follistatin proteins in the left ventricular tissue of the heart of type 1 and 2 diabetic rats
Methods: In this study, 36 head 2-month-old male Sprague-Dawley male rats with a mean weight of 280±30 g were selected.
After induction of type 1 (18 head) and 2 (18 head) diabetics through streptozotocin and nicotinamide solution, each type of diabetes was randomly divided into 3 groups: endurance training, HIIT and control (6 heads per group); The training groups performed endurance (50 to 70% of maximum speed) and HIIT (intensity 85 to 95% of maximum speed) training program 4 days a week for 4 weeks; Data analysis was performed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests in SPSS software.
Results: Endurance training and HIIT in diabetic training groups led to a significant decrease in MSTN protein content (P=0.0001) and an increase in Follistatin protein content (P=0.0001).
Conclusion: It seems that four weeks of endurance training and HIIT can prevent excessive myocardial atrophy by decreasing the MSTN content and increasing Follistatin. Therefore, exercise training with the intensity, duration and type can be a good defense and treatment mechanisms for diabetics to prevent or reduce heart complications.

Abstract

Background: Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of death in patients with type 1 diabetes, and cardiovascular risk remains high even in patients with type 1 diabetes with good metabolic control. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of six weeks of aerobic exercise on inflammation and damage indicators of heart tissue in type 1 diabetic male rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, 19 male Wistar rats (mean weight 200-250 g) were randomly divided into four groups: aerobic training, sham, control and healthy. In this study, induction of type 1 diabetes was performed by injecting a single dose of streptozotocin dissolved in sodium citrate buffer intraperitoneally. Aerobic exercise program was performed with intensity of 50-60% VO2max, 5 days a week for 6 weeks. After anesthesia, an autopsy was performed and left ventricle of the heart was removed. Levels of Tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α), Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator (PGC-1α) and Creatine kinase (CK) in rat heart tissue were measured by Western blotting. Data were analyzed by One-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc test at the P<0.05.
Results:  The results showed that six weeks of aerobic training led to significant decrease in TNF-α and CK and significant increase in PGC-1α of the heart tissue in type 1 diabetic rats (P<0.001).
Conclusion:  According to the results, it seems that aerobic training can help improve the inflammation and damage indicators of heart in type 1 diabetes.

Abstract

Background: Type 1 diabetes is associated with decreased skeletal muscle capillary and improper regulation of angiogenesis pathways in skeletal muscle. This research intended to study the effect of resistance training and endothelial stem cell injection on βeta-actin, phosphorylated and total AKT of skeletal muscle in type 1 diabetic rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, 36 male Wistar rats (age 6 weeks) were divided into six groups of control (healthy), basal diabetic control, diabetic control, diabetes + stem cell injection, diabetes + resistance training and diabetes + stem cell injection + resistance training. Injection of stem cells leads to significant increase in Pho-AKT and Pho-AKT/AKT ratio and resistance training with simultaneous injection of stem cells leads to significant increase in Pho-AKT, β-actin and significant decrease in Akt of muscle tissue in type 1 diabetic rats (P<0.001).
Conclusion: According to the results, it is possible that the intervention of resistance training with injection of stem cells can help regulate the pathways of skeletal muscle angiogenesis in type 1 diabetes.

Abstract

Background: Damage to the heart tissue in diabetics causes inflammation and destruction of heart cells, which in turn leads to apoptosis or cell death. The aim of this study was to investigate compare the effect of six weeks of aerobic and resistance training on apoptotic indice of caspase-8 and catalase in the heart tissue of male diabetic rats.
Method: In this experimental study, 24 male Wistar rats were divided into six groups: aerobic training, resistance training, aerobic sham, resistance sham, control and healthy. Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of a single dose of streptozotocin in the amount of 30 mg per kg. The aerobic and resistance training program was performed for six weeks. Western blotting was used to measure caspase-8 and catalase. Data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance and Tukey post hoc test at the P<0.05.
Results: The results showed that the mean difference of caspase-8 between aerobic training group and healthy group (P=0.752), resistance training group with healthy group (P=0.723) and resistance training with aerobic training group (P=1.00) were significant. Caspase 8 was lower in the aerobic exercise group than in the resistance exercise group. The difference between the mean catalase between the aerobic training group with the healthy group (P=0.024) and the aerobic training group with the resistance training group (P=0.023) was significant and the amount of catalase in the resistance training group was higher than aerobic training.
Conclusion: Aerobic and resistance training can reduce the apoptotic index of caspase-8 and increase catalase in the heart tissue of diabetic rats.

Abstract

Background: MAFbx and MuRF1 proteins are important factors in the ubiquitin pathway and are responsible for muscle atrophy. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of long-term high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on the intracellular content of MAFbx and MuRF1 proteins in the left ventricular of the heart of rats with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: In this experimental study, 18 rats 2-month-old male Sprague-Dawley rats with a mean weight of 270±20 g were selected. 12 rats became diabetic by intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin and nicotinamide solutions. These rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: diabetic training and diabetic control; A healthy control group was also considered. The training group practiced HIIT 4 days a week for 8 weeks. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 23 and one-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests.
Results: MAFbx protein content showed a significant decrease after 8 weeks of HIIT (P=0.0001); Tukey post hoc test showed that this change was significant between pairs groups of diabetic training and diabetic control and also between pairs groups of diabetic control and healthy control (P=0.0001). MuRF1 protein content showed a significant decrease (P=0.0001); This was a significant difference between the pairs groups of diabetic training and diabetic control, diabetic training and healthy control groups, as well as diabetic control and healthy control groups (P=0.0001).
Conclusion: HIIT seems to can inhibit the process of atrophy and autophagy of cardiomyocytes by reducing the content of MAFbx and MuRF1 proteins in the hearts of diabetic subjects.

Abstract

Background: A high-fat diet causes hyperinsulinemia and increases insulin resistance in the body. On the other hand, the oxidative stress caused by hyperglycemia can lead to the exacerbation of hyperglycemia and increase the complications of diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases are one of the most important complications of diabetes mellitus. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 4 weeks of aerobic training on catalase enzyme activity in the left ventricle and insulin resistance index in male rats treated with streptozotocin and exposed to a high-fat diet.
Methods: In this experimental study, 19 male wistar rats, with an average age of 8-12 weeks and a weight of 200-250 grams, were divided into 3 groups: diabetic control (CD 8), training diabetes (TD 8) and healthy control (C 3). The exercise program included 4 weeks of aerobic exercise with an average of 60 to 75 Vo2max in an increasing manner. Before and 48 hours after the last training session, blood was taken and left ventricular tissue samples were extracted to check the HOMA-IR index and catalase activity by ELISA method. To compare the study groups, one-way analysis of variance and Scheffe's post hoc test were used in SPSS software (p≥0.05).
Results: The results showed that the induction of diabetes with STZ along with a high-fat diet causes a significant decrease in catalase enzyme (P=0.001) and a significant increase in HOMA-IR index, fasting glucose and Li index (P=0.001) in rats. However, doing 4 weeks of aerobic training caused a significant increase in catalase enzyme activity (P=0.001) and a decrease in HOMA-IR index, glucose and Li index (P=0.001).
Conclusion: Aerobic exercise with moderate intensity can be used as an effective non-pharmacological method in the treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy by increasing catalase activity and reducing resistance to insulitis in diabetes.

Abstract

Background: Inflammation plays a critical role in the promotion of hepatocyte damage and liver fibrosis. In recent years the protective role of exercise and royal jelly (RJ), has been suggested for metabolic and inflammatory disorders. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effects of aerobic training (AT) and RJ on pro-inflammatory markers in a rat's model of a high-fat diet (HFD).
Methods: In this experimental study, 45 male rats were randomly divided into five groups (Each group: n=9): Normal Diet (ND), High-Fat Diet (HFD), High-Fat Diet +Training (HFDT), High-Fat Diet + Royal Jelly (HFDRJ), and High-Fat Diet +Training + Royal Jelly (HFDTRJ). The supplement groups received 100 mg of royal jelly (kg/body weight) diluted in distilled water orally during the intervention period. The aerobic exercise program included treadmill running with an intensity of 50-60% oxygen consumption (VO2max), 5 days/week for 8 weeks.
Results: HFD increased hepatic NF-κB (p=0.006), TNF-α (p=0.0001) and IL-1β (p=0.0001). AT, RJ as well as the combination of AT with RJ decreased NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-1β (p≤0.05). Decrease in NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-1β were significant in HFDTRJ group compared to HFDT and HFDRJ groups (p≤0.05).
Conclusion: The combination of AT and RJ may decrease inflammatory markers and improve HFD-induced hepatic steatosis by reducing the expression of NF-κB, TNF-α, and IL-1β.

Abstract

Background: Despite the existence of very effective drugs in controlling blood sugar in diabetic patients, unfortunately, a small proportion of patients follow their medication. Several factors may affect in drug adherence. In this study, the effect of drug-related beliefs on medication adherence in diabetes was investigated.
Methods: In a cross-sectional study using available sampling method, 248 patients with type 2 diabetes referred to the specialized diabetes clinic in Hamedan in 1400 were selected. Medication compliance was checked with MMSQ-8 and medication belief was checked with BMQ questionnaire. Data were analyzed using chi-square, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman's correlation at significance level of 0.05.
Results: The mean age was (16.9) 52.6 years. 51.6% were women, 61.3% were men. poor, moderate, and good medication adherence rate were 53.2%, 25.8% and 21%, respectively. In patients with poor, moderate and good drug treatment, the mean (SD) of the belief score for the Specific Necessity were 17.9 (5.8), 17.2 (3.7) and 17.7 (1.2), respectively. Belief of Specific concern 16.6(0.6), 17.6 (2.3) and 1/17(1.8), belief of General overuse 13.2 (2.2), 12.6 (2.6) and 12.2 (2.3), belief in General harm were 10.6 (2.9), 10.2 (3.5) and 8.5 (0.3) and the total score of belief in drug treatment were 58.3 (1.8), 57.6 (6.8) and 55.5 (4.7) and which only the belief of General harm was statistically significant (P<0.05).
Conclusion: More than half of patients do not follow appropriate medication adherence. Belief about harmful side effects of diabetes drugs were significantly associated with a decrease in medication adherence.

Abstract

Background: Unc-51 Like Autophagy Activating Kinase-1 (ULK1) and FAK Family Kinase-Interacting Protein of 200 kDa (FIP200) play an essential role in controlling autophagy and muscle volume. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of endurance training on the intracellular content of ULK1 and FIP200 proteins in the left ventricular of rats with type 1 diabetes.
Methods: In this experimental study, 18 rats 2-month-old male Sprague-Dawley rats with a mean weight of 300±20g were selected. 12 rats became diabetic by intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin solutions. These rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: diabetic training and diabetic control (6 heads per group); A healthy control group (6 heads)was also considered. The training group practiced endurance training 4 days a week for 6 weeks. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 23 and one-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests.
Results: The content of ULK1 (increase) and FIP200 (decrease) after endurance training showed a significant change among the research groups in the left ventricular (P=0.0001). Tukey's post hoc test showed that this change is significant between the pair of diabetic training groups to diabetic control, diabetic training to healthy groups, and also diabetic control to healthy groups (P≤0.05).
Conclusion: Endurance training showed that it can have a dual nature to control autophagy in diabetic subjects by increasing ULK1 and decreasing FIP200. There is a need for more investigations in the field of exercise physiology on the proteins responsible for autophagy, especially in type 1 diabetes subjects.

Background: mTOR and CREB proteins are two important factors in cellular pathways and regulating fat tissue metabolism. Therefore, the aim of this research is the effect of endurance training on the amount of mTOR and CREB proteins in the adipose tissue of type 2 diabetic rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, 18 rats 2-month-old male Sprague-Dawley rats with a mean weight of 270±20g were selected. 12 rats became type 2 diabetic by intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin solutions. These rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: diabetic training and diabetic control (6 heads per group); A healthy control group (6 heads) was also considered. The training group practiced endurance training 4 days a week for 6 weeks. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 23 and one-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests.
Results: mTOR protein content showed a significant change after 6 weeks of endurance training (P=0.0001); Tukey's post hoc test showed that this change was significant between the pairs of diabetic training groups to healthy controls (P=0.004) and diabetic control groups to healthy controls (P=0.0001). CREB protein content showed a significant change (P=0.0001); this change was significant between the pairs of diabetic training to diabetic control groups (P=0.02), diabetic training to healthy control (P=0.0001), and diabetic control to healthy control groups (P=0.0001).
Conclusion: mTOR and CREB proteins decreased after Endurance Training, which can be effective in regulating adipose tissue metabolism; however, more training conditions should be considered.

Abstract

Background: Control of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is influenced by lifestyle. The aim of this research was to determine the predictors of treatment adherence behaviors among T2DM based on Social Cognitive Theory (SCT).
Methods: This descriptive-analytical research was done among 500 T2DM patients in Tehran during 2021. Simple random sampling was performed among patients based their medical records in the Diabetes Control Clinic of Tehran's District Five. The data collection tools were written questionnaire based on the SCT determinants. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and analytical statistics (Pearson's correlation and linear regression) in SPSS software version 16. Results: The mean score of treatment adherence behaviors was 56.34 [SD: 10.41], ranged from 16 to 80. The outcome expectations, perceived self-efficacy, and social support accounted for 43% of the variation in the outcome measure of the treatment adherence behaviors. Self-efficacy was the strongest predictor (Beta = 0.430 and P<0.001). Increasing age (ß= -0.126 and P= 0.004), insulin treatment (ß= -0.250 and P<0.001) and smoking (ß= -0.146 and P= 0.001) conversely and having health insurance (ß= 0.181 and P<0.001) were positively predictive of treatment adherence behaviors.
Conclusion: The development, implementation and evaluation of educational interventions based on SCT with emphasis on promoting perceived self-efficacy can lead to useful findings in promoting treatment adherence behaviors among T2DM patients.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes entails a great quantity of deaths each year and a great quantity of people living with the disease do not find out their health status early sufficient. In this paper, we advance a data mining-based model for prematurely diagnosis and prediction of diabetes.
Methods: Although K-means is simple and can be utilized for a vast diversity of data kinds, it is wholly sensitive to initial locations of cluster centers which specify the final cluster result, which either enables an efficiently and adequate clustered dataset for the logistic regression model, or presents a lesser amount of data as a result of wrong clustering of the main dataset, thereby restricting the proficiency of the logistic regression model. The main purpose of this study is was to specify procedures of ameliorating the k-means clustering and logistic regression accuracy consequence. Therefore, our algorithm comprises of principal component analysis technique, k-means technique and logistic regression model.
Results: The results obtained from this study show that the ability to obtain the result of K-means clustering accuracy is much higher than what other researchers have obtained in similar studies. Also, compared to the results obtained from other algorithms, the logistic regression model was implemented at an improved level in predicting the onset of diabetes. Another real advantage is that the proposed algorithm was able to successfully model a new dataset.
Conclusion: In general, the proposed approach can be effectively used in predicting and early diagnosis of diabetes.

Abstract

Background: During recent decades, physical activity has become a key auxiliary tool in controlling many diseases, including diabetes. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of resistance training on the plasma levels of preptin and endothelin 1 in men with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: The current research is semi-experimental. The statistical sample of this study consisted of 38 men with type 2 diabetes, who were randomly divided into two groups of 19 experimental and control. Subjects in the experimental group performed 8 weeks of resistance training three sessions a week with moderate intensity. 24 hours before and after 8 weeks of training, plasma levels of preptin, endothelin 1, and indicators related to type 2 diabetes were measured by the ELISA method. Correlated t-tests and independent t-tests were used to examine intra-group changes. SPSS software was used to analyze the data (P≥ 0.05).
Results: Correlated t results showed that plasma levels of preptin and insulin resistance index (P= 0.001) as well as plasma endothelin 1 (P= 0.001) decreased significantly in the post-test compared to the pre-test of the experimental group. has been found Also, the independent t-test results showed that the plasma levels of preptin, insulin resistance index (P= 0.001) and endothelin 1 (P= 0.002) were significantly lower in the post-test of the experimental group compared to the control.
Conclusion: According to the obtained results, it seems that doing resistance exercises improves glucose sensitivity by reducing preptin and reducing the possibility of blood pressure by reducing endothelin 1 in preople with type 2 diabetes.

Abstract

Background: The effects of exercise on kidney tissue in withdrawal syndrome are unclear. In this study, the effect of 8 weeks of endurance training on the protein levels of cytochrome C, caspase 8 and caspase 3 in the kidney tissue of diabetic and diabetic rats with withdrawal syndrome was investigated.
Methods: 32 male Wistar rats were used in this experimental study. After the induction of diabetes, the rats were randomly divided into 4 groups of 8. Including: diabetes control (D), morphine diabetes (D.M), diabetes + endurance training (D.ET), morphine diabetes+endurance training (D.M.ET). Then, in addicted groups, the oral method was used for morphine dependence. The training groups performed 8 weeks of endurance training protocol. At the end of the study, all rats were anesthetized, dissected and their kidneys were separated and kept at -70 degrees for further investigations. Protein levels of the indicators of this study were measured by ELISA kits. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc test at a significance level of P≤0.05.
Results: The results of this study showed a significant decrease in caspase 3 protein levels in D.ET (P=0.000), D.M.ET (P=0.000) and cytochrome C levels in D.ET (P=0.000), D.M.ET (P=0.000) groups in Comparison with group D. Also, caspase 8 protein levels in D.M.ET group (P=0.015) compared to D group and D.M.ET group (P=0.038) compared to D.M group showed a significant decrease (P≥0.05).
Conclusion: Endurance training can probably have a positive and protective effect on the reduction of kidney tissue apoptosis in diabetic and diabetic withdrawal syndrome rats.

Abstract

Background: CTRP3 is known to be an adipose tissue-derived anti-inflammatory hormone that leads to improved insulin resistance. However, the effects of exercise training on this adipokine are poorly understood. Therefore, the aim of the present meta-analysis was to investigate the effect of exercise training on circulating CTRP3 levels in adults with metabolic disorders.
Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed and Web of Science databases through October 2022 using the keywords "exercise training" and "CTRP3". The inclusion criteria for the current research included human studies with metabolic disorders, exercise training intervention, and circulating CTRP3 values. Standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence interval were calculated using random method.
Results: A total of 9 studies including 12 intervention arms and 365 participants with metabolic disorders were included in the meta-analysis. The results of data analysis showed that exercise training led to a significant increase in CTRP3 [0.57, (CI: 1.10 to 0.03) P=0.03]. Also, the results of the I2 test showed that there is a high and significant heterogeneity (I2 =84.59, P=0.001) and the results of the Egger test showed a significant publication bias (P=0.001).
Conclusion: Exercise training with a moderate effect size leads to a significant increase in circulating CTRP3 levels in individual with metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, which may be a mediator of the beneficial effects of exercise training.

Abstract

Background: The role of the immune system and inflammation in controlling metabolic diseases such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, obesity and overweight is well established. Also, physical activity controls and prevents the occurrence of metabolic diseases, which has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects. The aim of the present study was to study the effect of eight weeks of 10, 20, 30 seconds exercise training on the levels of antimicrobial factors in the saliva of obese adolescent boys.
Methods: 32 male students voluntarily participated in the present study and were randomly assigned to four groups: 1) obese aerobic exercise, 2) normal weight aerobic exercise, 3) obese control without exercise, and 4) normal weight control without exercise. The criteria for the obese group was a BMI above 25. Anthropometric indices of height, weight and body mass index were measured exactly. Before and after eight weeks of practice, Shatell-Run standard test was performed. Salivary samples of lysozyme, lactoferrin, lactate and C-reactive protein concentrations were taken after eight weeks of training with a frequency of three sessions per week with an intensity of 30 to 90% of maximum aerobic power. Using analysis of covariance, variables with a significance level of less than (P≤0.05) were included in the analysis.
Results: The results showed a significant increase in salivary levels of lactoferrin (P=0.001), lysozyme (P=0.003), lactate (P=0.001), and C-reactive protein (P=0.006). There are more obese students than people of normal weight (Youth body mass index criterion)
Conclusion: The increased response of some antibacterial and inflammatory salivary proteins after eight weeks of 10-20-30 sports training following exhaustive activity may be due to the acute response of the immune system.

Abstract

Background: Congenital hypothyroidism is one of the important preventable causes of mental restriction in children. Considering the importance of the etiology of the disease in the better management of patients in the later years of life and adulthood, this study was conducted with the aim of investigating the etiology of permanent congenital hypothyroidism in patients referred to children's clinic in Gorgan.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 75 children's files with permanent congenital hypothyroidism. The diagnosis of the disease was made based on the findings of the technetium 99 thyroid scan after the completion of the three-year treatment period. Laboratory results, thyroid scan and information related to risk factors were extracted from patients' files.
Results: 56% of newborns were boys, 32% were born in winter and 61.3% were from Persian ethnicity. The most diagnosed permanent hypothyroidism was ectopic type. 37.33% of babies with permanent congenital hypothyroidism were born preterm. 67.6% of babies born with permanent congenital hypothyroidism weighed less than 2500 grams, and 41.3% of mothers had a history of hypothyroidism and in 42.7% of infants with permanent maternal hypothyroidism, the parents had a family relationship.
Conclusion: In the present study, prematurity of babies as well as hypothyroidism of the mother and family marriage of the parents in babies with permanent congenital hypothyroidism have a relatively high prevalence.

Abstract

Background: During menopause, women are more exposed to the risk factors of many diseases, including metabolic syndrome, and sirtuin-1 may be involved in this disorder. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of circular resistance training and moderate intensity continuous training on metabolic indices and Sirtuin1 serum level in women with metabolic syndrome.
Methods: This study was conducted as a clinical trial in women with metabolic syndrome in two intervention groups (15 people in resistance training group and 15 people in continuous training group) and a control group (15 people). The intervention group underwent an exercise program for eight weeks and three sessions per week, and the control group had their own routine program. After the last training session, serum levels of Sirtein1 and lipid factors were measured. To analyze the data, t-test and covariance were used at a significant level (P≤0.05).
Results: The results of the t-test showed that there was a significant difference in the intra-group changes of the studied variables (SIRT1, HDL, LDL, TG, FBS, Total Cholesterol) in both exercise groups (P≥0.05), but in No significant difference was observed in the control group (P<0.05). The results of the covariance test showed that there is a significant difference between the three groups in the indices (SIRT1, HDL, LDL, TG, FBS, Total Cholesterol) after the test (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Eight weeks of circular resistance training program and continuous training with moderate intensity has a positive effect on metabolic indices and serum level of Sirtuin1 in people with metabolic syndrome.
