Abstract
Background: Fat mass and obesity-associated gene (FTO) is directly associated with increased risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 12 weeks of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on FTO expression of subcutaneous fat tissue in T2DM rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, twelve males Wistar rats (220±10 g) with T2DM induced by streptozotocin-nicotinamide injection were randomly divided into exercise (n=6) and control (n=6) groups. The training group performed the HIIT protocol on a treadmill for 12 weeks and 5 days per week. FTO expression in subcutaneous fatty tissue, blood glucose level, insulin and insulin resistance were measured 48 hours after the last training session. Data were analyzed by independent T test at P< 0.05.
Results: Blood glucose level, insulin resistance and FTO expression in fat tissue decreased significantly in training groups compared to control group after the exercise intervention (P˂0.05). Serum insulin increased significantly in training groups compared to control group (P˂0.05).
Conclusion: It seems that HIIT can decrease glucose, insulin resistance and FTO expression of fat tissue of T2DM rats. Improved glycemic control in diabetic rats might be attributed to reduced FTO expression in response to HIIT.

Abstract
Background: Diabetes can increase cardiovascular disease by altering the equilibrium between angiogenic stimulants and inhibitors of angiogenesis. In this study, we investigated the effect of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on angiostatin and focal adhesion kinase (FAK-1) in left ventricle cardiomyocytes in diabetic rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, 24 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three equal groups (n=8): Control-Normal (C), Diabetes (D), and Diabetes-training (D+T). Diabetes was induced by the injection of streptozotocin in male rats. The Training group has performed a HIIT program on a motor-driven treadmill for eight weeks. At the end of eight weeks-- heart tissue samples were collected. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey post hoc at P<0.05.
Results: The results showed that induction of diabetes increased the expression of angiostatin (P=0.006), and serum glucose (P=0.001) and decreased FAK-1 (P=0.001). HIIT significantly reduced the level of angiostatin (P=0.006) and glucose (P=0.001) in diabetic rats. There was also a significant increase in FAK-1 in the D+T group (P=0.001).
Conclusion: HIIT decreased the protein expression of angiostatin and glucose and increased FAK-1 in cardiomyocytes. HIIT seems to reduce the vascular complications of diabetes in rats by altering these parameters that affect angiogenesis and blood glucose.

Abstract
Background: This review study aims to shade light on the effects of carrying out interventions and policies in order to reduce the incidence and prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and their behavioral risk factors (i.e., unhealthy diet, insufficient physical activity and smoking) and strategies and approaches to reduce their attributed burden.
Method: In this research, the documents and reports available in the Ministry of Health, developed action plans, recommendations of national and international organizations, evidence gathered from monitoring and evaluations and the "National Action Plan and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases and Related Risk Factors in the Islamic Republic of Iran, 2015-2025" were investigated with respect to each of the three main risk factors of NCDs, including unhealthy diet, insufficient physical activity, and smoking (harmful consumption of alcohol has been reviewed in another article). Each risk factor has been discussed separately in the sections describing the current situation, policies and implemented interventions, findings, and future plans.
Results: The implemented interventions and policies to achieve the goals stated in the "National Action Plan and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases and Related Risk Factors in the Islamic Republic of Iran, 2015-2025" in the field of unhealthy nutrition, resulted in revising the food standards. Interventions in the field of physical activity have caused a 1.5% reduction in the relative prevalence of sedentary behavior in the society. Our research also revealed that interventions in the field of tobacco consumption have led a total decrease of 7.44% among Iranian people over 18 years of age, but a decrease in the use of hookah is not recorded, and its consumption has increased by 28% in 2021 compared to 2011.
Conclusion: According to the findings, the goals stated in the aforementioned document have not been fully achieved, so new interventions and policies should be used by those involved.

Abstract
Background: mTOR and CREB proteins are two important factors in cellular pathways and regulating fat tissue metabolism. Therefore, the aim of this research is the effect of endurance training on the amount of mTOR and CREB proteins in the adipose tissue of type 2 diabetic rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, 18 rats 2-month-old male Sprague-Dawley rats with a mean weight of 270±20g were selected. 12 rats became type 2 diabetic by intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin solutions. These rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: diabetic training and diabetic control (6 heads per group); A healthy control group (6 heads) was also considered. The training group practiced endurance training 4 days a week for 6 weeks. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 23 and one-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests.
Results: mTOR protein content showed a significant change after 6 weeks of endurance training (P=0.0001); Tukey's post hoc test showed that this change was significant between the pairs of diabetic training groups to healthy controls (P=0.004) and diabetic control groups to healthy controls (P=0.0001). CREB protein content showed a significant change (P=0.0001); this change was significant between the pairs of diabetic training to diabetic control groups (P=0.02), diabetic training to healthy control (P=0.0001), and diabetic control to healthy control groups (P=0.0001).
Conclusion: mTOR and CREB proteins decreased after Endurance Training, which can be effective in regulating adipose tissue metabolism; however, more training conditions should be considered.

Abstract
Background: Type 2 diabetes is the most common metabolic disease, a chronic and progressive disorder that causes permanent complications and increased cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, peripheral vascular disease, nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, diabetic foot, amputation and death in patients.The aim of the present study was to examine the predictor role of negative repeating thoughts, emotion regulation strategies and self-care in remedial acceptance and adherence of patients with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: The method of the present study was descriptive, correlation type, and the population was from all the patients with type 2 diabetes who were members of Diabetes Association in Chahar-Mahal-o Bakhtiyari. Among this group, using the convenience sampling method, and on the basis of Morganʼs table, 300 patients with type 2 diabetes were recruitment. Using MackEuy and othersʼ negative repeating thoughts questionnaire (2014), Mans & Malouf emotion regulation strategies questionnaire (2009), Toobert & Glasgow self-care questionnaire (2000) & Modanloo acceptance and treatment follow-up questionnaire (2014), the experiment group was investigated. The data were analyzed by SPSS software.
Results: Our findings have shown that negative repeating thoughts, emotion regulation strategies and self-care predict the remedial acceptance and adherence of patients with type 2 diabetes significantly.
Conclusion: With pay attention to identify of the predictor role of negative repeating thoughts, emotion regulation strategies and self-care in remedial acceptance and adherence of patients with type 2 diabetes, and high prevalence of this disease too, it seems that psychological intermediations, with pay attention to role of mentioned variables to decrease of psychological problems and increase of adherence in them, pay attention to role of negative repeating thoughts too, compatible and incompatible strategies of emotion regulation and adhere to self-care could be taken as prevention of deterioration type 2 diabetes and better controlling.

Abstract
Impaired insulin function with exogenous changes is a major cause of heart failure. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of four weeks of high intensity interval training with curcumin supplement on the expression of IRS-1 and IRE-1α gene in the Left ventricle of type 2 diabetic rats.
Methods: In the present experimental study, 30 male mice with diabetes were divided into five groups of 6; high intensity interval training (HIIT), High intensity interval Training+Curcumin(S+HIIT), Diabetic control+curcumin(S+DC), Diabetic Control (DC), Normal control (NC). The High intensity interval training protocol was performed five days a week for four weeks. Curcumin gavage at a dose of 100 mg/kg was performed daily. The expression of IRS-1 and IRE-1α were measured by the qReal-TimePCR method, and data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA at the alpha level of 0.05.
Results: IRS-1 gene expression in the S+HIIT group compared to the DC (P=0.003) and S+DC (P=0.001) groups and in the HIIT group compared to the DC (P=0.002), and S groups +DC had a significant decrease (P=0.019). IRE-1α gene was significantly decreased in S+HIIT group compared to DC (P=0.003), S+DC (P=0.001) and HIIT (P=0.008) groups.
Conclusion: It seems that HIIT with curcumin supplement can reduce the process of myocardial apoptosis in diabetic patients by improving metabolic conditions and genetic factors.

Abstract
Background: Diabetic nephropathy is the main cause of end-stage kidney disease in diabetic patients. Several inflammatory markers related with diabetic nephropathy have been investigated so far. It is necessary to identify easily available and cost-effective indices. We aimed to determine the relationship between the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and mean platelet volume with diabetic nephropathy.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed from 2021 to 2022 in diabetes clinic of Ghaem hospital, Mashhad. Patients with type II diabetes were categorized into two groups: without and with nephropathy (urinary albumin excretion greater than 30 mg/24h or GFR less than 60). Patients’ data, including demographic data, past medical and drug history and lab data were gathered and analyzed.
Results: In total, 100 diabetic patients including 50 with (mean age=64.04±7.40 years) and 50 without nephropathy (mean age=56.06±6.36 years), were studied. Patients with nephropathy were older, had a longer history of diabetes and a higher blood pressure (P < 0.05). However, the distribution of gender, weight, height, and BMI was not significantly different the two groups (P>0.05). The absolute neutrophil count was not significantly different between the two groups (P>0.05), while the mean platelet volume, neutrophil% and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio were significantly higher in patients with nephropathy (P<0.05).
Conclusion: According to our findings, patients with diabetic nephropathy had higher mean platelet volume, neutrophil%, and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratios compared to diabetic patients without nephropathy.

Abstract
Background: The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of eight weeks of aerobic training and vitamin D3 supplementation on cardiac irisin protein levels, insulin resistance and lipid profile in rats induced with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: Forty male Wistar rats after induction of type 2 diabetes through the combination of high-fat diet +streptozotocin were randomly divided into five groups: 1) Normal control (NC) ,2) Diabetic Control (DC), 3) Diabetes+ Aerobic Training (DAT) ,4) Diabetes+ Vitamin D3 (DVD) and 5) Diabetes+ Aerobic Training+ Vitamin D3 (DVDAT). Aerobic training program (five times a week with 60% intensity of maximum running speed for one hour) and vitamin D3 supplementation (10000 IU/kg every week) were performed. After anesthetizing the rats, blood samples were taken to evaluate serum glucose, insulin, triglyceride, cholesterol, LDL and HDL levels. The heart tissue was isolated to evaluate the irisin.protein.
Results: The results of the one way analysis of variance showed that the irisin protein level of the heart tissue in DAT, DVD and DVDAT groups had a significant increase of 14.04, 12.28 and 24.56%, respectively compared to DC (P<0.001). Insulin resistance also showed a significant decrease in all intervention groups compared to the DC group (P<0.001); However, HDL, triglyceride and cholesterol levels were significantly decreased in DAT and DVDAT groups compared to DC group (P<0.001).
Conclusion: According to the results, it seems that eight weeks of aerobic training and vitamin D3 supplementation probably improves the insulin resistance index and lipid profile in rats induced to type 2 diabetes through increasing the cardiac irisin.

Abstract
Background: Type 2 diabetes is a common multifactorial disease that has been studied by researchers in this century. These studies show the importance and position of genetics in relation to diabetes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of rs5219 and rs5215 polymorphisms in the familial type 2 diabetic population of Yazd province.
Methods: This study is a case-control study that was conducted on 200 people (100 type 2 diabetes patients with a positive family history of type 2 diabetes and 100 healthy people without a family history of diabetes). In this study, using the ARMS-PCR technique, the genotype of the patient group and the control group were examined, and dispersion indices and parametric statistical tests such as P-value and Chi-square were used to determine the significant relationship between diabetes and genetics.
Results: Statistical analysis showed that there is a significant difference between the allelic and genotypic frequencies in both patient and control groups in rs5215 polymorphism with P=0.0015 and in rs5219 polymorphism with P=0.0342.
Conclusion: The present study showed that rs5215 and rs5219 polymorphism of KCNJ11 gene can be related to type 2 diabetes in the population of Yazd province, although extensive studies are needed to confirm these results.

Abstract
Background: Adiponectin is one of the most well-known adipokines with anti-inflammatory effects that plays an important role in regulating the whole-body metabolism. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) versus moderate intensity continuous training (MICT) on the circulating levels of adiponectin in individuals with and without metabolic disorders.
Methods: A systematic search was conducted in the databases of PubMed, Web of Science, Academic Jihad Center and Magiran using the keywords "HIIT" and "adiponectin" to identify Persian and English languages published articles until October 2022. Effect size (SMD) and 95% confidence interval were calculated using CMA2 software. I2 test for calculation of the heterogeneity and visual interpretation of funnel plot test and Egger test for assessment of the publication bias were used.
Results: Data analysis of 28 interventions (24 studies) showed that HIIT resulted in a significant increase in adiponectin [0.40 CI: 0.12 to 0.68), P=0.004]. Also, the data analysis of eight interventions showed that HIIT led to a non-significant increase in adiponectin compared to the MICT [0.41 CI: -0.04 to 0.86), P=0.07].
Conclusions: The findings of the present study showed that HIIT is a suitable and efficient training method to increase adiponectin, especially in people with metabolic disorders.

Abstract
Background: Fetoin-A and -B are hepatokines that are related to type 2 diabetes. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of a period of resistance and endurance training with Ursolic acid consumption on the levels of Fetoin-A and -B in the liver tissue of elderly diabetics.
Methods: Fifty six 21-month-old male diabetic rats were randomly divided into seven equal groups of control (C), Ursolic acid supplement (UA), supplement+resistance exercise (UA+R), supplement+endurance exercise (UA+E), Resistance training (R), endurance training (E) and sham group (D). Resistance training protocol with intensity of 60% MVCC, 14-20 times of ladder climbing with one minute rest between each effort and endurance training including running on Treadmill at high intensity 60-75% and low intensity 30-40% of maximum speed for five days per week for eight weeks. Supplemented groups received 500 mg/kg UA in combination with a high-fat meal.
Results: Fetoin-A level was significantly decreased in UA, E, UA+E groups (p≤0.05) and only in R and UA+R groups, there was no significant decrease. Also, The amount of Fetoin-B in diabetic rats in the UA, E, R, UA+E groups decreased significantly (p≤0.05) and only in the UA+R training group there were no significant changes. The amount of Fetoin-A and Fetoin-B was significantly different between E and R and UA+R and UA+E groups (p≤0.05), which the largest decrease was in the UA+E group.
Conclusion: Considering the beneficial effects of exercise training as well as UA supplementation on hepatokines, it seems that the simultaneous application of two interventions of exercise training and UA supplementation has a more therapeutic effect on the hepatic hepatokines of diabetics.

Abstract
Background: The prevalence of overweight, obesity and related complications is increasing rapidly in the world. Also, treating this disease in the presence or absence of co-morbidities has become a challenge. In this article, based on the clinical recommendations of the American Endocrinology Association and the American College of Endocrinology, a comprehensive clinical guide has been written for the stages of treating obese patients and its individualization, and it has been tried to be adjusted as much as possible based on the conditions in Iran.
Methods: with a specific search strategy, a complete search was performed in PubMed, Scopus, ISI Web of Science, EMBASE and Google Scholar Cochrane databases. Then, the best clinical guidelines suitable for the Iranian society were selected and using the opinions of specialists and clinical experts, a clinical guideline was prepared for the treatment of obesity in Iranian adults.
Results: In this article, in continuation of the previous article, we answered the questions number 4 to 6 regarding the stages of obesity treatment and its individualization in adults of Iranian society, and presented a total of 60 recommendations in this regard.
Conclusion: In this part of the clinical guide for obesity in Iranian adults, we tried to have a special view on the treatment of these patients and by providing evidence-based recommendations and statements, the treatment process was personalized as much as possible for patients with special conditions so that decision-making in this regard is facilitated for the relevant colleagues in this field.

Abstract
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of circuit resistance training and saffron supplement on visfatin serum levels and insulin resistance in overweight men.
Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 40 obese and overweight students were randomly divided into 4 groups: exercise, exercise+supplement, supplement and control (10 people in each group). The exercise groups performed circular resistance exercises for eight weeks and three sessions each week for 90 minutes in the evening. The supplement and exercise+supplement groups used saffron tablets with a dose of 30 mg per day as a supplement. Blood samples were collected in two phases of the pre-test and 48 hours after the last training session. The data were analyzed using covariance and paired t test at a significant level of P≤0.05.
Results: Correlated t results showed a significant decrease in visfatin and insulin resistance in the post-test of the training, training+supplement and supplement groups compared to the pre-test (P<0.05). The results of the analysis of covariance showed that visfatin increased and the insulin resistance index decreased significantly in the exercise, exercise+supplement and supplement groups compared to the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion: It seems that eight weeks of circuit resistance training and the addition of saffron help on visfatin serum levels and insulin resistance can lead to the reduction of these two variables in overweight men. The saffron plant can play a protective role due to the presence of flavonoids and by stimulating the secretion of Visfatin.

Abstract
Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of sports rehabilitation exercises with vitamin D consumption on fatigue, sleep quality and depression level of people with osteosarcoma cancer after bone marrow stem cell transplantation.
Methods: In this study, 27 women with osteosarcoma cancer with body mass index above 30 kg/m2, age 24.90±4.03 years, height 163.85±3.62 cm and weight 82.17±4.5 kg were randomly divided into four groups. (patient-exercise), (patient-exercise-vitamin D), (patient-exercise-placebo) and (control) were divided. The training protocol includes ten weeks of Pilates exercise. The supplement group took 500 IU of vitamin D three days a week for 10 weeks. Data were analyzed using dependent t-test and one-way analysis of variance.
Results: The results of the covariance analysis of the research of three exercise groups showed that after ten weeks of sports rehabilitation with vitamin D consumption, the indicators of fatigue and the level of depression decreased significantly (P≤ 0.05). Also, the results of covariance analysis of the three training groups showed that the overall sleep quality of people with osteosarcoma cancer increased significantly (P≤ 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, it is suggested that the consumption of vitamin D along with exercise rehabilitation can be an effective treatment method for fatigue, sleep quality and depression in people with osteosarcoma cancer.

Abstract
Background: Glucose transporter4 (GLUT4) is the main glucose transporter in skeletal muscle. Impaired GLUT4 expression plays a role in the disorders of glycemic homeostasis. The aim of the present study was to investigate the combined effects of aerobic training and vitamin D3 supplementation on Glut4 protein levels and insulin resistance in the soleus muscle of diabetic rats with STZ and high-fat diet.
Methods: In 40 male Wistar rats type 2 diabetes was induced by 6 weeks high-fat diet followed by streptozotocin injection. Then rats were randomly divided into five groups: Healthy control (HC), Diabetic control (DC). Diabetes+Aerobic training (DAT), Diabetes+Vitamin D3 (DVD) and Diabetes+Aerobic training+ Vitamin D3 (DVDAT). The rats underwent eight weeks of aerobic training and vitamin D3 supplementation. 24h after last session of training and, the rats were anesthetized and soleus muscle was isolated for measurement of Glut4 protein concentrations and serum levels of insulin, glucose, vitamin D3 index were measured.
Results: One-way ANOVA showed that GLUT4 protein levels in DC group was significantly lower than HC group (P<0.001), but in DVDAT group was significantly higher than DC group (P<0.04) and DVD group (P<0.005). Also in DAT group was significantly higher than DVD (P<0.018). The HOMA-IR index also in DVDAT, DAT and DVD groups was significantly lower than DC group (P<0.001).
Conclusion: It seems that Eight weeks of aerobic training with vitamin D3 supplementation improves glucose metabolism in diabetic rats via increasing Glut4 protein levels and improving insulin resistance index.

Abstract
Background: Aging and consuming a high-fat diet lead to increased oxidative damage to various tissues, oxidative stress is a critical factor in the aging process that can cause direct damage to cellular structure. This study aimed to investigate the Effects of 8 Weeks of HIIT Training on the Nrf2 Gene Expression, lipid peroxidation and Insulin resistance in the pancreas tissue of Aged rats fed a high-fat diet.
Methods: In this experimental study, 20 aged male Wistar rats (age: 18 months and mean weight: 500±100 gr) were randomly divided into four groups including normal food control G1 (n=5), normal food + training G2 (n=5), high-fat food G3 (n=5) and high-fat food +training G4 (n=5). The high intensity interval training program was performed on a treadmill, three days a week for eight weeks. Nrf2 gene expression was performed using real-time PCR and malondialdehyde levels, glucose and insulin were measured using a kit and ELISA method. Data were analyzed by MANOVA test at the P<0.05.
Results: The results of the MANOVA statistical test on the interactive effect of training and diet indicated a significant difference in the insulin resistance index (P = 0.017 and F = 7.17). However, no significant effect was observed for the insulin factor (P = 0.30 and F = 1.13), glucose (P = 0.116 and F = 2.75), MDA (P = 0.87 and F = 0.028), and Nrf2 (P = 0.816 and F = 0.056).
Conclusion: In general, it can be stated that HIIT training in this research can improve insulin resistance by affecting the expression of the Nrf2 transcription factor gene by reducing the oxidant activity in aged rats.

Abstract
Background: Exercise interventions can play an important role in improving metabolic status by regulating hepotokines. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of eight weeks of Jump Rope Interval Training on serum levels of Fetuin-A and insulin resistance in overweight and obese young men.
Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 26 overweight and obese young men (body mass index: 28.24±1.66) were voluntarily and purposefully selected as a statistical sample and randomly divided into two experimental (n= 13) and control (n= 13) groups. The participants of the experimental group performed Jump Rope Interval Training for 8 weeks (four sessions per week/40 minutes each session). At the beginning and end of the study, venous blood samples were collected to measure Fetuin-A and insulin resistance. Data analysis was done using SPSS software version 24 and with dependent and independent t-tests at a significance level of less than 0.05.
Results: After 8 weeks of Jump Rope Interval Training, a significant decrease was observed in serum levels of Fetuin-A, insulin resistance and, body fat percentage (P≤ 0.05). Also, a significant difference was observed between the experimental and control groups in serum levels of Fetuin-A, insulin resistance and, body fat percentage (P≤ 0.05).
Conclusion: According to the results of the present study, it seems that regular jump rope interval training for eight weeks can effectively improve the metabolic complications in overweight and obese young men by reducing the serum levels of hepotokine Fetuin-A.

Abstract
Background: Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, which is associated with progressive loss of memory and reaction to the environment. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 12 weeks of resistance training with sumac intake on the serum levels of SIR3, SIR4 and AMPK in Alzheimer's male rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, male Wistar rats with an age of 8-10 weeks and an average weight of 230±30 grams were randomly divided into five groups: control, Alzheimer's disease, Alzheimer's disease with sumac supplementation, Alzheimer's disease with resistance training, and Alzheimer's disease with resistance training. Received sumac supplements were divided. To induce Alzheimer's disease, 8 mg/kg of trimethyl tin chloride along with 200 microliters of normal saline were injected intraperitoneally to mice. Resistance training was performed for 12 weeks and 5 days a week on a special rat ladder. 48 hours after the last training session, a blood sample was taken. Serum levels of SIR3, SIR4 and AMPK were evaluated by ELISA method. To check the changes between the control group and other groups using the independent T-test and to check the difference between the other groups using the one-way analysis of variance test and if significant, using the Tukey post hoc test, by SPSS version 29 software at a significance level of P< 0.05 used.
Results: The results of this research showed that 12 weeks of resistance training increases the levels of SIR3 (P< 0.036), SIR4 (P< 0.029) and AMPK (P< 0.447) compared to the Alzheimer group. In addition, adding sumac to the resistance training program had a significant effect on the levels of SIR3 (P< 0.078), SIR4 (P< 0.024) and AMPK (P< 0.002).
Conclusion: Our results suggest that resistance training is associated with the improvement of sirtuin 3, sirtuin 4 and adenosine monophosphate kinase levels in Alzheimer's rats and receiving sumac antioxidant compound leads to doubling of these responses.

Abstract
Background: Endoplasmic reticulum stress leads to unfolded or folded protein response, and ATF4 and CHOP proteins play very important roles in this signalling pathway; Therefore, the aim of this research is the effect of resistance training on the content of ATF4 and CHOP proteins in the left ventricle of the heart of type 2 diabetic rats.
Methods: In this experimental study, 12 two-month-old male Sprague Dawley rats were selected and their weight reached an average of 280±20 gr after four weeks. Type 2 diabetes was induced by injecting nicotinamide solutions (110 mg/kg) and streptozotocin (60 mg/kg). The rats were randomly divided into 2 groups, resistance training and diabetic control; Resistance training consisted of 8 weeks and 3 sessions per week of climbing a vertical ladder with an 85-degree slope, one meter long with 26 steps and 2 cm space between each step. To analyze data, independent t-test was used in SPSS version 29 and Graphpad Prism version 10.2.3. A significance level of P≤0.05 is considered.
Results: The content of ATF4 and CHOP proteins after 8 weeks of resistance training showed a significant change compared to the control group in the left ventricle of the heart (P=0.001).
Conclusion: The increase of ATF4 and CHOP proteins can lead to increased cell death of cardiomyocytes in the left ventricle of the heart of type 2 diabetic subjects through increasing the endoplasmic reticulum stress and initiating the unfolded or folded protein response.

Abstract
Background: The aim of this study was to determine effect of resistance training on the expression of PI3K, AKT1 and mTORc1 in the heart tissue of type 2 diabetes rats and their physiological cardiac hypertrophy.
Methods: 21 male wistar rats (220±20 g) were obese by 6 weeks high fat diet (HFD). After inducing obesity, T2D induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (30 mg/kg) in 14 rats. Finally, the rat were randomly assigned to 1) non-diabetes, 2) control T2D, 3) resistance diabetes groups. Rats in the resistance group were completed a resistance
training program, 5 sessions weekly for 6 weeks. PI3K, AKT1 and mTORc1 expression and the weight ratio of left ventricular to heart, left ventricular to body and heart to body were compared by ANOVA between groups.
Results: In response to induction of diabetes, the expression of PI3K, AKT1 and mTORc1 in heart tissue decreased significantly compared to the non-diabetic group (p < 0.05). Resistance training resulted in significant increase in the expression of PI3K, AKT1 and mTORc1 and the weight ratio of left ventricular to heart, heart to body and left ventricular to body compared to control diabetes rats (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Resistance training is associated with physiological cardiac hypertrophy in diabetic rats, and this improvement can be attributed to the PI3K/AKT1/mTORc1 signaling pathway.
