Abstract
Background and Aim: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory
dermatosis that affects 0.6% to 4.8% of the general population. Our aim was to compare the effect of narrow band UVB
(NB-UVB) on normal flora of cutaneous plaques and normal skin in psoriatic
patients.
Methods: Twenty
psoriatic patients without any contraindication of phototherapy were enrolled
in this study. Samples from psoriatic lesions and adjacent normal skin, before
and after phototherapy with NB-UVB were taken. Patients were treated with
NB-UVB three times weekly until complete remission. Finally, quantity of normal
cutaneous flora on normal and involved skin, before and after treatment was compared.
Results: The mean±SD of
the NB-UVB sessions and the mean cumulative dose were 26.35±4.95 and 2.05±0.57 J/cm2, respectively. The number of Staphylococcus epidermidis, S. aureus and diphtheroids on psoriatic plaques reduced after phototherapy.
Conclusuion:
The quantity of normal cutaneous flora on normal skin is less than psoriatic plaques,
and it reduced on normal and involved skin after phototherapy.

Abstract
Vitiligo is a common disorder in skin pigmentation and has an important role in patient’s quality of life. It may also cause severe emotional stress which makes its treatment necessary. As conventional therapeutic strategies are ineffective, there is an increasing tendency to use complementary medicine in the management of vitiligo. This article has been written with the aim of describing Iranian Traditional Medicine (ITM) approach to vitiligo mechanisms, prognosis and natural therapeutics. It is a product of a library study in the main ITM references and also related articles using mentioned keywords.
According to ITM text books human body consists of four substantial humors, each has a very specific quality and quantity. Any excess or deficit of these humors may result in different disorders. Changing in phlegm humor and also improper function of “expulsive faculty” are the main causes of vitiligo from the viewpoint of ITM.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Among destructive treatments for removal of unwanted hair, hair removal laser devices have widely replaced the old fashion methods due to their safety and effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effective factors on treating unwanted hairs with a laser device.
Methods: This retrospective study, was performed on records of 122 patients who referred to a hair and skin clinic .Patients with hirsutism or other diseases were excluded. Hair thickness and color, skin color, number of laser sessions, age and sessions interval were evaluated. The collected data were analyzed by compeutering program SPSS version 21, analytic tests chi-square and logistic regression (P less than 0.05 considered meaningful).
Results: The average age of participants was 31.3±6.6 years. The average number of laser sessions was 5.4±2.1 and the most satisfying outcome was observed in dark hairs and more than 5 sessions (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression model illustrated that the number of sessions directly impacts the effectiveness of treating unwanted hair (P<0.05). Level below the rock curve and the sensitivity were 0.71(0.61-0.81) and 0.759, respectively.
Conclusion: This study showed that hair thickness and color, number of laser sessions are important factors on hair removal treatments by laser. For optimal outcome more sessions with longer follow up is recommended.

Abstract
Background and Aim: The purpose of the present study was to asses a the effect of self-healing education on self compassion, body image, concern and improvement of disease process in women with skin cancer.
Methods: A quasi-experimental research with pre-test, post-test and follow up with control group was conducted. The population included all women with skin cancer referring to Shahid Rahimi Hospital in Khorramabad city during 2018to2019. Thirthy four volunteers were selected and randomly assignes into two experimental and control groups (each group sequential included 16-18 people). All participants in the experimental and control group completed the self-compassion questionnaire, body image concern and clinical data on cancer course as a pretest. Education of self-healing therapy was performed for 12 sessions of 90 minutes on the experimental group, but the control group did not receive the intervention. At the end for both groups, the post-test was performed and follow up was done up to two months. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 19.
Results: Self-healing approach increased self-compassion including: self-kindness, correct judgment, common humanity sense, mindfulness (P<0/01) and decreased body image concern, isolation and over identification (P<0/05) levels in women with skin cancer. Although self-healing education affected improvement process in skin cancer but this effectwas not statistically significant.
Conclusion: Self-healing approach improves self-compassion and reduces body image concern in women with skin cancer.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Trichoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic tool for hair diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the trichoscopic findings in different types of alopecia.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 155 alopecia patients referring to Hamadan’s Sina hospital from March 2019 to July 2020. The patients were recruited after giving written informed consent. Scalp biopsy was performed to confirm the diagnosis and trichoscopic evaluation was then carried out. Trichoscopic findings along with demographic data were recorded. Data was analyzed using SPSS 16.0 software and appropriate statistical methods.
Results: A total of 155 patients including 79 males and 76 females were included in the study. The most common trichoscopic finding in alopecia areata was vellus hair (95.5%). The most common finding in androgenetic alopecia (AGA) was hair shaft thickness heterogeneity which was observed in all AGA patients. The most common findings in telogen effluvium (TE) were single hair pilosebaceous units, peripilar sign, thin terminal hairs and upright regrowing hairs which were observed in all TE patients. The most common finding in lichen planopilaris was perifollicular scaling (81.8%). The most common findings in discoid lupus erythematosus were large yellow dots (100%) and fine scaling (100%). Black dot was the most prevalent finding in tinea capitis (85.7%).
Conclusion: Trichoscopy ,as a non-invasive tool, could be helpful in differentiating different types of alopecia.
