Abstract

Background: Non-fermentative, gram-negative bacilli (NFGNB) have emerged as a factor of nosocomial infections and mortal epidemics . Hospital environment is one of the most important sources of NFGNB`s colonization and diffusion. This study is aimed to assess the frequency of NFGNB in various wards of selected hospitals of Tehran. Materials & Methods: 469 samples were randomly selected from various wards from two hospitals during a period of 11 weeks. All isolations had been identified using standard microbiological, biochemical and phenotypic tests. The data were analyzed by SPSS software (version 11.5). Results: Fifty three specimens were positive for NFGNB. Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and Burkholderia cepacia complex were found as predominant bacteria in hospital I(28%) and II (28.6%).The highest rate of NFGNB isolated from surfaces was 60.3% .The pediatric ward was identified as the most contaminated ward (50%). Conclusion: Several genus of NFGNB are found in hospitals. Therefore, identifying other NFGNB`s genus and training health care staff are of prime importance. NFGNB`s distribution depends on type of ward, surface, and equipment. Periodic sampling of hospital environment can be effective against spreading infection.

Abstract

Backgrounds: Explanation of Cognitive empowerment & Human Sources Productivity is theoretically & practically important . This research is aimed to examine the relationship between psychological empowerment of staff with human resources’ productivity. Materials & Methods: This study is applied by purpose and survey by method and correlation was used to investigate the mentioned relationship . The statistical population consist of administrative and financial stuff of Hashemi Nejad hospital. The data were collected by questionnaire and interviewing and observing. Two types of questionnaire had been distributed among statistical samples for testing survey’s hypotheses witch their questions were based on Likert scale of seven. First questionnaire’s reliability was 0.95 and second one was 0.93. Due to achieve survey’s objectives, both analytical and descriptive statistic had been used. Results: using Pearson correlation coefficient, the survey’s testing hypothesis showed a significant correlation between component of cognitive empowerment and four variables of human recourses productivity (organizational commitment, organizational participation, job creativity and job satisfaction). The relationship between the empowerment component and four other variables were 0.95, 0.90, .0.86 and 0.85 respectively. Conclusion: using effective psychological empowerment components can play a major role in stuff’s productivity.

Abstract

Background: Identification of development needs is a first important step in a systematic management development effort. This study aimed at assessing management development needs from the viewpoint of middle managers of hospitals affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the hospitals affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The population study was 227 of middle managers employed in 16 hospitals. Data were collected using a 42-items questionnaire which its reliability and validity was confirmed. Data were analyzed using main components analysis in software SPSS17. Results: designing and innovation indicator among managerial roles, human skills indicators in managerial skills, psychological abilities among managerial talents, social trust in personal characteristics, comprehensive thinking indicator in philosophic mindedness and leadership in managerial knowledge components were the most important from the perspective of the middle managers Conclusion: managers play the specific managerial roles in order to perform their managerial tasks. They need to develop administrative skills, abilities, knowledge, personality and philosophic mindedness to play the best managerial roles.

Abstract

Background: Given that Tabriz Shohada hospital is the place of admitting emergency patients including accident victims, Nurses are exposed to double stress at hospital. This study conducted to predict nursing stress based on personality traits and job engagement among nurses in Shohada hospital of Tabriz.

Materials and Methods: The current study was a correlational one. Randomly selected 105 nurses from Tabriz Shohada hospital sections such as sixth general sections including Rehabilitation, ICU & Emergency Department participated. Contributors answered to Nursing Stress Scale, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Revised (EPQ-R) and Job Engagement Scale. Data were analyzed using stepwise multiple regression analysis.

Results: The study results indicated that nursing stress was more strongly associated with the neuroticism; there were no relationships among nursing stress and extraversion or psychoticism. Also, nursing stress revealed a positive relationship with job engagement. Using the multivariate regression analysis showed that the neuroticism trait (p< 0.001, F=10.68) and job engagement (p= 0.004, F=10.12) were suitable predictors for nursing stress among three personality factors and job engagement.

Conclusions: Nursing stress influenced by internal factors more than demographic variables and two important predictive variables (neuroticism trait and job engagement) had more important roles in nursing stress prediction.

Abstract

Background: Brand loyalty is one of the most important factors in maintaining and success of huge organizations such as hospitals. This study aimed to survey the factors that affect the patients’ loyalty to hospital brands in teaching hospitals affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS).
 
Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study conducted in 2017. The study population consisted of 385 clearance patients who were admitted to educational hospitals in Shiraz using stratified sampling method in February 2017 to March 2018. Information was collected using a researcher-made questionnaire and data analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, and multiple regressions using SPSS version 23 at a significant level of α = 5%.
 
Results: Patients’ satisfaction (β=0.333, P<0.001), trust in brand (β=0.265, P=0.007), and commitment (β=0.181, P=0.011) had a direct and positive effect on the patients’ loyalty to the hospital brand.
 
Conclusion: According to this study results, hospital managers should pay an attempt to inform the patients about their treatment procedure, follow up the patients’ health after discharge, and increase the communication between personnel and patients. These could contribute to better image and experience for patients resulting in loyalty to the hospital brand.
