Abstract

Background: Beside qualified and capable nursing personnel, nursing care development requires motivated nurses to work in an appropriate environment. This study aimed  at determining the relationship between organizational climate and nurses' job motivation in selected Army hospitals of Tehran city in 2015.

Materials and Methods: In this study was a descriptive -analytical and cross sectional one. The sample size consisted of 340 employed nurses in hospitals with at least one year work experience which were stratified randomly selected based on work experience among four army hospitals in Tehran. Data were collected using two questionnaires including job motivation and organizational climate. In order to data .analysis, descriptive and analytical tests such as Pearson correlation coefficient were utilized.

Results: One hundred and eighty nine of participants (55.4%) were female. Mean age of nurses’ average was 32.22 ±9.8 years. More than half of nurses had evaluated group spirit as high level and hindrance, engagement, intimacy, consideration, spacing, thrust and production emphasis as moderate level. There was a direct significant relationship between all components of job motivation and engagement, intimacy, consideration, spacing, thrust and production emphasis (P<0.05). Furthermore, mental and official components of job motivation had an inverse significant relationship with hindrance component respectively (P=0.014, P=0.019).

Conclusion: Regarding the relationship between all components of the organizational climate with job motivation, attempt to improve these components will have significant impact on motivation improvement, reducing absenteeism and job dissatisfaction.

Abstract

Introduction: After the increase in the incidence and global spread of Covid-19 virus, medical centers faced a number of problems and challenges following this crisis. In order to increase the quality and safety of medical services and their optimal management, both in critical and non-critical situations, health care providers in different countries of the world have used various methods that increase the organizational commitment to improve quality.
Method: This study is a cross-sectional analytical research. Data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire based on 903 accreditation standards notified by the Ministry of Health by available sampling method from 326 employees of Masih Daneshvari Center in 2021. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 22.
Results: The results showed that out of an average of 8 areas related to accreditation standards, participants in the areas of professional ethics and compliance with the recipient of services, infection control, environmental health and waste management mentioned the most compliance in the emergency situation caused by Covid-19 and areas of clinical management and patient safety were ranked next.
Discussion and conclusion: According to the participants, observing the areas of environmental health and waste, service recipients and infection control has been more practical during Corona pandemic. The principles of accreditation seem to be accepted as quality improvement standards and can be an effective guide in preparing medical centers for emergency conditions.

Abstract

Introduction: The present study qualitatively investigated the main components that should be considered for the implementation of the referral system in Bojnord city.
Methods: In this study, data were collected through doing interviews with experts, and finally, the importance of all the extracted components was evaluated using a researcher-made questionnaire. Also, the exploratory factor analysis method was used to classify the components in main sets. Kolmogorov-Smirnov, one-sample t-test, performed in Excel and SPSS software, was used for statistical analysis.
Results: The most frequent noted components by the experts included "empowerment (knowledge, skill, psychological) of human resources involved in the referral system", "paying attention to the motivation of human resources involved in the referral system", and "developing suitable processes for the referral system and re-engineering the processes to meet the conditions". Finally, the main requirements in the referral system of Bojnord city were divided into three categories included organizational and management, manpower, and technology-based requirements.
Conclusion: Briefly, some components may lead to improvement of the referral system, which can be categorized into organizational and management, manpower, and technology-based requirements. Detailed planning to improve the referral system can lead to the improvement of the health system.
