Abstract

Background: Medical diagnostic laboratories play an important role in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the diseases. Today’s without assisting of the laboratories, conserving of public health and outbreaks prevention of infectious and genetic diseases is impossible. In this research the cases determined by the department of health and medical education questionnaire in quality control of public and private laboratories. Materials and Methods: This study is a cross sectional (descriptive and analytic) in which 20 private medical diagnostic laboratories and 16 training centers were selected. The quality control standards were reviewed and compared. Results: From 12 items of the questionnaire the two following items, rules and regulations in both private and public laboratories gained the highest priorities with 100% private and 93% governmental laboratories respectively. The lowest score was related to testing quality control of the laboratories with that of public and private ones, 82% and 75.7 percent respectively. In all that cases, governmental laboratories and training centers were rated lower than private labs. Conclusion: This study showed that both private and public laboratories’ score were under below of standards. Governmental laboratories were rated lower than private labs. In private laboratories, identifying errors and in the governmental laboratories, testing quality control should be considered

Abstract

Background: Current paper aims at investigating factors affecting physicians'knowledge-sharing intention in teaching hospitals affiliated to Tehran University-Medical Sciences in which one of the most authentic model of behavior prediction namely planned behavior has been used as the theoretical framework of study.
Materials and Methods: The method of current study is descriptive/survey correlational type and statistical society includes physicians employed in hospitals affiliated to Tehran University-Medical Sciences.Date was collected by questionnaires and analyzed using Lisrel&SPSS software.Confirmatory factor analysis was employed to evaluate consistency,Cronbach's alpha was used to assess reliability and structural equation modeling was used to fit the model and test hypotheses.
Results: Prediction power of model for knowledge-sharing intention of physicians is(R2=0.66)The results suggested that impact of attitude on the knowledge-sharing intention is positive and significant with factor loading of(=0.87)However,influence of subjective norms and perceived behavioral control on the knowledge-sharing intention was not confirmed.Influence of subjective norms on attitude were evaluated positive and significant with factor loading of(=0.55)As a result, subjective norms affect knowledge-sharing intention through indirect mediation of attitude.All tests were significant at the level of(P0.01).
Conclusion: According to findings of this research on improvement of knowledge-sharing behavior of physicians, health authorities need to take corrective measures to enhance the attitude and subjective norms of physician.

Abstract

Background: The purpose of this study is to survey the Working Life Quality of specialists working in affiliated hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

Materials & Methods: The statistical population of this study includes 400 specialists and a crosssectional Descriptive & analytical method has been used to gain credible results.. Van lar working life quality questionnaire was used to gather the data needed.. The data were analyzed with the SPSS software through T-test and Anova statistical tests. In addition, the simultaneous effect of independent variables in the model was evaluated using the Backward Regression Model.

Results: The average total working life quality of specialists working in affiliated hospitals of Tehran university of medical sciences is estimated to be 48.75 percent. Total working life quality of male specialists is higher than the females and the index is higher in specialists resident in Tehran compared to the other ones but these differences are not significant statistically.. Working life quality of specialists which are satisfied with the facilities in their working places are higher compared to the others and these differences are significant statistically. In addition working life quality has decreased with the increase in the experience.

Conclusion: Working life quality of the Specialists studied is not in a satisfying level, thus more attention and effective plans are needed from responsible authorities in the ministry of health and the managers of the hospitals studied in order to improve specialist`s working life quality.

Abstract

Background: utilizing control chart in customer satisfaction evaluation is one of the effective tools in making results of customer analysis practical. This study was conducted to design the method of utilizing control chart in monitoring customer satisfaction in health care facilities.This prospective study measured service recipients' satisfaction in a three month period in a public hospital using a questionnaire in likert scale. After gathering initial data they were analyzed using SPSS and Excel soft wares .In order to evaluate customer satisfaction a ten parameter checklist and interview was used. The average and standard deviation of decuple and quintuple subgroups were compared.
Results: In a three month period the average patient satisfaction score was 4.5 in likert 5 score scale.There wasn't a significant statistical difference between 5,10,25 day duration in patient satisfaction. In addition there wasn't significant statistical difference between 5 samples per day and 10 samples per day and all samples in a day. R-X diagram was used for PSS monitoring.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the average PSS in 20 and 25 day periods had no significant difference with 3 month PSS and also there wasn't significant statistical difference between average PSS in decuple and quintuple subgroups.

Abstract

Background: Monitoring and/or control are the management main duties. This duty is so important which some of authorities believed that efficient management depends on Effective Control System (ECS).This study aimed at identifyingbarriersandfacilitators of performance monitoring and providing some strategies for effective health care monitoring.
Materials and Method: This study was a qualitative one which data was collected bySemi-structured questionnaire filled by interview in2011-2012 and analyzed usingframeworkanalysis. Study population consisted of 25 experts and directors of care/treatment performance monitoring.
Results:Based on study results, nineconceptswere extracted as following:specialized nature of treatment performance monitoring, health assessors’ education, work experience in line units, prerequisites for new treatment performance monitoring, personal characteristics of care monitoring expert, managerial support of assessors, culture of monitoring process acceptability, facilitators and barriers of monitoring. Based on these concepts, 28 codes were identified.
Conclusion: Experienced assessors’ assessment, based on their specialty professionals’accurate and applied systematic education and management support are main items which will be result in more effective care/treatment performance monitoring.

Abstract

Background: Whistleblowing as a control tool should be encouraged in organizations to deter organizational illegal and immoral wrongdoings that finally are harmful to the society. Personality traits of people are influential factors on their intention to disclose the wrongdoings. This study aimed to assess the relationship between four personality traits (internal locus of control, ethical identity, extroversion and responsibility) and employees' intention to whistleblowing among the employees of central department of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study is a descriptive-analytic one. This research conducted on 251 employees of the central department of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. A researcher-made questionnaire based on previous literature used to collect the data. Analysis of the data processed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) with Smart PLS software.
 Results: Since, the amount of standardized coefficients between independent variables (locus of control, ethical identity, extroversion and responsibility) and whistleblowing intention were statistically significant (P<0.005), all of these independent variables have positive and significant influence on the employees' whistleblowing intention.
Conclusion: Given that individuals with internal locus of control, ethical identity, responsibility and extroversion characteristics cannot be able to ignore the organizational wrongdoings, it is better organizations use employees with these characteristics at more sensitive or critical places, where the possibility of organizational wrongdoing is high, in order to prevent potential harm to the organization and society as a result of wrongdoings.

Abstract

Introduction: The operating room is one of the most sophisticated workplaces, consisting of a vast array of electrical, gas and radiation equipment that are more susceptible to accident than other hospital departments. Therefore it is important to observe safety tips in this section. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the standard of safety in operating rooms of hospitals affiliated to Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences in 2019.
Method: This study was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The statistical population consisted of all operating rooms of hospitals affiliated to Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences. The tool used was a checklist that was completed by researchers by observation and interviewing on-site. Safety standards have been evaluated in terms of the physical space of the operating room, fire safety, personnel safety, patient safety, infection control. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 21.
Results: The operating rooms of university-affiliated hospitals were 80.10% secure in overall safety. The patient's safety area, with 83.34%, had the shortest distance from the standards and the infection control safety area, with 74.24%, had the highest distance from the standards. The highest and lowest scores were related to the safety standard related to the operating room of hospitals (2) and (1).
Conclusion: According to the findings, the operating rooms of the studied hospitals are generally in desirable compliance with safety standards. However, it is essential to pay attention to problem areas to increase the safety factor for staff and patients in the operating room, so appropriate remedial measures should be taken to ensure complete safety of the operating room for all components.
