Abstract
Introduction: Working in hot and inappropriate climate condition is one of the most common problems of occupational health which can lead to heat induced diseases and even death. Heat stress may impair the cognitive processes involved in decision-making and converting simple tasks to complex ones. The aim of present study was to assess selective attention and reaction time among workers in a casting unit of a car manufacturing industry and to investigate the effects of heat stress on mentioned variables.

Material and Method: In this retrospective cohort study 70 workers from a hot industry were selected in two of exposed and control groups. First, demographic questionnaire was completed for each of the participants and noise and light were measured as the likely confounding factors. Stroop test 1, 2, and 3 were done before and during the work in order to determine the effects of heat on selective attention and reaction time. Besides,WBGT were measured at the ankle, waist, and head levels. Data were analyzed using SPSS software, version 18.
Result.: WBGT measurements showed that the mean WBGT were 33 and 16.7 for the exposed and not exposed groups, respectively. Moreover, no significant relationships were observed between test duration, reaction time, and number of errors in Stroop tests 1 and 2 and the level of heat (P-value<0.0001). However, the mentioned variables had a significant positive correlation with Stroop test 3. Additionally, for exposed group variables of test duration, reaction time, and number of errors in Stroop 3 were significantly higher than those of control group.

Conclusion: According to the findings in present study, heat stress causes an increase in reaction time and a decrease in selective attention. Thus, heat can be assumed as a stressor in hot work environments and the heat should be taken into account while design of job and tasks which needed selective attention or reaction time.

Abstract
Introduction: Installation of wind turbines in residential areas due to their unique sound characteristics may cause noise annoyance. Noise annoyance can increase the risk of health problems and sleep disturbance. Thus, this study was conducted to assess the effect of wind turbine noise annoyance on sleep disturbance among the Manjil wind farm workers.

Material and Method: All the Manjil wind farm workers have been divided into three groups according to their noise exposure levels, including maintenance, security, and administrative workers. The equivalent A weighted noise levels were measured for each of the study working groups, using ISO 9612 standard method. Information related to the noise annoyance and sleep disturbance were determined by ISO15666 standard and the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, respectively. Data were analyzed using R software.

Result: Findings of ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis statistical tests showed that noise annoyance and sleep disturbance were statistically different among workers with various occupational, age, and work experience groups. Also, noise annoyance and sleep disturbance had a significant association in a way that regardless of the effects of other variables, it can be stated that for every one unit increase in noise annoyance, 0.26 units will be added to the amount of sleep disturbance.

Conclusion: In this study, workers with more wind turbine noise annoyance had more sleep disturbance. Therefore, in addition to the direct effects of noise on sleep disturbance, it can indirectly exacerbate sleep disturbances.

Abstract
Introduction: High level of workload and its consequent cognitive failures are among factors which impact nurses’ behavior, performance, and efficiency. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between nurses’ cognitive failures and perceived workload.
Material and Method: This cross-sectional and descriptive-analytical study was carried out among 150 male and female nurses, working in different units of Emam Khomeini and Vali-e-Asr hospitals in Tehran in 2013. NASA task load index (NASA-TlX) and Cognitive Failure Questionnaire (CFQ) were used to assess workload and cognitive failures, respectively. Data were analyzed using Pearson Correlation, Independent sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA statistical tests with SPSS software version 20.
Result: Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients test results showed a significant relationship between nurses’ mental workload and their memory for names (P-value<0.001). Moreover, there was significant association between physical workload and memory, attention and total cognitive failures (CFQ total) (P-value<0.05). Perceived frustration mong nurses was significantly correlated with memory, attention, motor functions and total cognitive failures (P-value<0.05).
Conclusion: The results showed a high level of workload among study nurses. Furthermore, the relationships between some dimensions of mental workload and cognitive failures were confirmed, so that an increase in workload dimension can lead to more cognitive failures while doing task.

Abstract
Introduction: Heat stress is caused by many factors such as individual factors, environmental factors, and management factors. Individual risk factors can decrease the heat tolerance, and play an important role in heat stress disorders incidence. The aim of this study was to review individual parameters influencing the thermal stress and review the preceding studies.
Material and Method: In this review study sites such as Web of Science, Scopus, Pubmed, Iran Medex, Magiran, Google Scholar and SID databases were used for search. The keywords included heat stress, personal factors and heat exposure. The period of 1995 to 2015 was investigated, and finally 75 original articles were identified.
Result: At the individual level, exposure with a single risk factor may reduce the workers’ heat tolerance; while exposure with a combination of several risk factors probably synergistically increases the risk of heat-related disorders. Individual risk factors include age, gender, obesity, fatigue, race, and previous heat disorders and dehydration. In addition, some diseases (such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and infectious diseases) or use of certain drugs or alcohol can reduce the heat tolerance.
Conclusion: It is necessary to pay attention to the mentioned items when selecting workers in the hot environments. Also, due to the lack of awareness and knowledge of workers, it is necessary to provide appropriate training programs to reduce the effects of heat stress.

Abstract
Introduction: Chronic occupational noise exposure may constitute a risk factor for cardiovascular disease for workers. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between occupational noise exposure and noise annoyance with blood pressure, serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels in workers of a textile industry.
Material and Method: This cross-sectional study was carried out among 220 employees of Savadkouh textile industry complex in Mazandaran province, Iran in 2017. To achieve the study objectives, the 8 -hour equivalent sound exposure level was measured and the cumulative noise exposure was calculated. Based on noise exposure level, workers were divided into control and case groups. Then, blood pressure was measured and blood samples were collected from each individual for determination of the serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels and they were transfered to the laboratory for further analysis. The noise annoyance scale and socio-demographic questionnaire were used to collect noise annoyance and other background and demographic information, respectively. Finally, Paired t-test, one-way ANOVA and multivariate regression were used to study the relationship between variables using SPSS Version 20.
Result: In total, 159 workers participated in this study considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Eighty-three participants were exposed to more than or equal to 85 dBA, and 76 person were exposed to less than 85 dBA noise level, respectively. The results showed that mean blood pressure and cholesterol were significantly different between the control and case groups (P-value< 0.05). Based on multivariate regression results, noise exposure, cumulative noise exposure (CNE) and noise annoyance had a significant effect on blood pressure (P-value< 0.001). Cholesterol was also significantly affected by noise exposure and noise annoyance (P-value< 0.005).
Conclusion: Based on the results of current study, noise can be considered as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease ampong workers. Actually, high intensity noise affect serum cholesterol and blood pressure directly, and may do indirectly by causing noise annoyance which acts as a mediator. Therefore, it seems necessary to conduct a controlled cohort study to investigating the interactions among whole variables of interest.

Abstract
Introduction: Safety at workplaces is an important issue, and lack of effective and efficient safety management methods based on scientific studies could cost the construction industry. An effective accident investigation and root causes analysis could prevent the occurrence of incidents at minimum cost and time.
Material and Method: First, major accidents in road construction projects were identified by interview and literature reviewing techniques. Then, fault tree was drawn for each main risks. In the next step, in order to calculate occurrence probability and severity of each accident type, a questionnaire was designed and distributed among the participants. Fuzzy logic was employed in calculations, due to the existence of uncertainty in linguistic variables. Fuzzy Fault Tree Analysis (FFTA) was used for calculating the occurrence probability, and importance of each criterion was determined using Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchical Process (FAHP) to calculate the severity of each accident. Finally, risk factors for each accident type was calculated and the risks were ranked accordingly.
Result: Accidents related to crusher and asphalt plant, traffic accidents, heat exhaustion and lack of hygiene and hit by machinery were identified as the most important risks among the eleven investigated accident types.
Conclusion: The findings in this research and also implementing effective safety management techniques, could be helpful on reduction of the probability of accidents root causes and to mitigate related risks.

Abstract
Introduction: Carpal tunnel syndrome is followed by pushing Median nerve in the carpal tunnel of the wrist. Occupational factors such as repetitive movements of the hands and fingers and frequent wrist disturbances affect the development of this syndrome. Quality of life is a multidimensional concept including physical and mental performance. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of CTS and its impact on the quality of life of typists in Tehran.
Material and Methods: This analytic descriptive cross sectional study was conducted in 1396 on 363 typists from 50 typing institutes in Tehran. Data were collected Demographic-Job Profile Questionnaire, Boston (BQ), quality of life (SF36) and Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Data were analyzed using SPSS-22 software and methods such as ANOVA and Pearson correlation tests.
Results: Among 363 participants, 215 of them were female (59.23%) and 148 were male (40.77%). The mean age was 37 ± 12.58 years. Among the typists, 51 (14.55%) had one-sided hand conflict, and 312 (85.95%) were two-sided hand conflicts. Results indicated that the prevalence of CTS symptoms among women was higher than that of men The value of Pearson correlation coefficient (range: 0.0613-0.783) showed that there was a moderate to strong correlation between the severity of symptoms scale (SSS), functional status scale (FSS) and visual analog scale (VAS) in the population under study (p< 0.05). There was also a strong and significant correlation between SSS and FSS among typists. In this study, CTS symptoms have a significant negative effect on the quality of life of the typists, but the psychological dimension quality of life is not to be affected by these symptoms.
Conclusion: Regarding the existence of CTS symptoms among typists who work most of a day with computers, there is also a statistically significant relationship between the incidence of CTS symptoms and the quality of life in this occupational group. Therefore, it is recommended that more attention should be paid to these individuals, appreciate tools be correctly designed, and further study be done.

Abstract
Introduction: Although noise characteristics such as intensity and frequency are the main cause of detrimental effects, it is important to pay attention to the personality traits of individuals as the host of adverse health effects. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of personality traits on sensitivity, annoyance and loudness perception due to exposure to high frequency sound.
Material and method: This interventional and experimental study was carried out among 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students in 2017. First, examinee were exposed to a high frequency noise at 65 dBA for one hour in an acoustic room. Then, to determine amount of annoyance, sensitivity, loudness perception and to investigate personality traits, questionnaire of noise annoyance, noise sensitivity, loudness perception and Eysenck personality inventory was used, respectively. Finally, Chi-square, independent t-test and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) were used to data analyze.
Results: The mean±SD of sensitivity, annoyance and loudness perception were 54.08±7.71, 7.0±1.53, and 2.79±1.13, respectively in this study. The mean scores of sensitivity, annoyance and loudness perception were significantly different in terms of personality traits, so that their average was higher in the neurotic and introverted. Based on MANOVA test results, personality traits had a significant effect on sensitivity, annoyance and loudness perception of individuals. In a way, the neuroticism and introversion had the greatest effect on the sensitivity and annoyance, respectively.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that personality traits such as introversion and neuroticism can affect the sensitivity, annoyance and loudness perception of individuals.

Abstract
Introduction: Many studies have been carried out on the effects of heat stress on cognitive functions, but the results are contradictory. Therefore, this study was conducted to review the effect of heat stress on cognitive functions.
Material and method: In this study, all English articles conducted on effect of heat stress on cognitive, perceptual, and psychomotor functions from 1970 to 2018 were reviewed. For this, articles with keywords such as heat strain, heat stress, cognitive function, memory, comprehension, psychomotor, reaction time, mental performance, mood, mental response, error, task performance, fatigue, alertness, hyperthermia, and heat exhaustion in the Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, Pub Med, Springer, Wiley Online Library and ProQuest databases were searched. Out of 157 retrieved articles, 39 articles were finally reviewed according to the inclusion criteria.
Results: Out of 157 retrieved articles related to the topic, according to the inclusion criteria, 39 articles were finally considered for review. Among this articles, 9 (%23) articles were published before 2000 and 30 (%77) after 2000. Two articles were in athletes, four articles (%10.2) in workers, four articles (%10.2) in students, four articles (%10.2) in military soldiers and twenty-five articles (%64.2) were conducted in ordinary people.Based on the results, heat stress was identified as a detrimental factor for decreased cognitive functions such as reading comprehension, memory, focus, mathematical processing, tracking test, reaction time, perception and decoding text and numeric messages, visual alertness, mental computing, text reading , hidden figures test and verbal fluency.
Conclusion: Based on the results of these studies, heat stress has been introduced as a detrimental factor for disrupting cognitive functions, but conclusion based on the results of studies is a systematic method is difficult because many confounding variables such as type of work, exposure time, skill and adaptation plays a big role.

Abstract
Introduction: Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders leading to disability around the world. Several studies have suggested that prolonged computer/ laptop work contributes to the development of low back pain and discomfort. The results of the studies conducted on the association of back discomfort and muscle activity are contradictory. Thus, the present study aims to evaluate the relationship between the activity level and relative rest time of the trunk muscles with back discomfort while working with a laptop in a sitting position.
Material and Methods: First, 20 young healthy males performed laptop work including mouse work and typing in conventional and ergonomic setups. In the ergonomic setup, the screen height and keyboard placement were specifically adjusted for each individual. In addition, the electromyographic activity of the lumbar erector spinae, right and left multifidus and transversus abdominis, rectus abdominis, external oblique muscles, and the posture of the lumbar spine were recorded in the first and last two minutes of an 8-min task. After the end of each task, the participants scored their back discomfort.
Results: The results showed a positive correlation (r=0.57 and p=0.009) between back discomfort and the EMG amplitude of the lumbar erector spinae muscle. In addition, back discomfort was negatively correlated to the relative rest time of the multifidus muscle (r=0.50 and p=0.023), and a positive correlation was reported with the relative rest time of the transversus and rectus abdominis (r=0.47, p=0.039, and r=0.45, p=0.049, respectively).
Conclusion: The relative rest time of the trunk muscles may be a better index than that of the EMG amplitude to highlight the risk factors for back discomfort. However, a causative link between muscle activity and discomfort cannot be implied from this study. The current results do not undermine the role of other factors associated with the increased level of discomfort during sitting.

Abstract
Introduction: There are several generic and specific models to assess the individual job performance (IJP). While these methods may provide the valuable information, none of them cover the complexity and wide range of the behaviors which express the IJP. This review study aimed to identify all existing models and incorporate them to achieve a comprehensive conceptual model to assess the IJP.
Material and Methods: Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and ProQuest were systematically searched to meet the study’s goals. Moreover, references to relevant publications were examined. Finally, suitable publications were discovered and analyzed using the inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Results: The results of Search in databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and ProQuest, showed that 12754 articles were found in the initial search. After removing duplicate and unrelated articles, finally, 155 eligible articles were selected. Based on full-text screening, 10 studies were excluded, and 5 studies were not accessible. Finally, by checking the references mentioned in the selected articles, 4 more eligible articles which were not retrieved in the search strategy were added; finally, 61 articles were selected to be reviewed. Ninteen articles were related to the general models, and 19 articles addressed job-specific assessment models. The remaining 23 articles described other existing models.
Conclusion: To evaluate IJP, a heuristic structure was developed based on the literature research. These dimensions were selected because they can accommodate all of the preceding models’ dimensions. They also include any behaviors that may have an impact on IJP.

Abstract
Introduction: One of the most important complications of exposure to noises is changes in the gene expression patterns. Irreversible damage to the inner ear, such as noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), is caused by tissue damage and changes in the gene expressions in the auditory system. Changes in the GJB2 gene expression pattern lead to autosomal deafness at different loci. The present study aims to evaluate the GJB2 gene expression in cochlear tissue exposed to white noise.
Material and Methods: In this study, ten male Westar rats were divided into two experimental (W1, W2) groups of six rats and a control (normal) group of four rats. Two experimental groups were exposed to constant white noise in the frequency range of 100-20000 Hz and the sound pressure level of 118-120 dB. In order to study the histology and gene expression, after a cochlea biopsy, the histological tests, RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, and qRT-PCR analysis were performed.
Results: The results showed that the transcript level of GJB2 was significantly decreased in both experimental groups W1 and W2 by 0.02 and 0.12-fold, respectively (p <0.05). Also, the results of the histological study showed that cochlear tissue was more seriously damaged in the W1 group than W2.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that a significant reduction in the GJB2 gene expression and irrevocable damage to auditory nerve ganglion and Reissner membrane (vestibular membrane) caused changes in the gene expression patterns in cochlear tissue and developed the risk of non-syndromic sensorineural hearing.

Abstract
Introduction: Emergencies are unforeseen and unpredictable situations. In these situations, people’s performance is affected by various factors that cause stress. People’s performance in such situations can also affect human error probability. The purpose of this study was to evaluate human error in emergency situations based on the fuzzy CREAM and Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP).
Material and Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was performed in a petrochemical industry in Markazi province in 2019. The FAHP was used to prioritize emergency situations. To evaluate human error in these conditions, the weights of Common Performance Conditions (CPC) was determined using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Human error probability was calculated using a fuzzy CREAM method in the most important emergency situations.
Results: The results of the FAHP showed that “Hydrogen leak from the cylinder joints in the olefin unit” was the most important emergency. The highest relative weight was related to crew collaboration quality (0.06) in the emergency situation.
Conclusion: This method can also be used to identify the important factors in human error occurrence and high weighted CPCs and plan to control them.

Abstract
Introduction: Universities play a key role in creating a knowledge-based society and its sustainable development. Strategic planning by strategically analyses internal and external environments of the organization, forecast its future, identifying its strategic direction, and strengthening organizational structures, processes, and outcomes, creates and sustains competitive advantages. This study aimed to formulate a strategic plan for the Occupational Health Engineering (OHE) department of School of Public Health (SPH) at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS).
Material and Methods: In this participatory action research, a strategic planning committee was formed. The strategic planning committee used the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat (SWOT) matrix to evaluate the internal and external environments of the OHE department. Then, the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of the OHE department were defined. Finally, the operational plan including actions to achieve the goals and objectives were formulated.
Results: Experienced professors and staff, specialized laboratories, professional journals, and high ranked postgraduate students were the most important strengths; and theoretical and non-practical courses, lack of educational protocols, poor communication with industries, lack of resources, and low motivation of employees were some of the weaknesses of the OHE department. The support of senior managers of TUMS, industry liaison council at school and university, facilities of the university faculties, comprehensive research laboratories of the university, capacities of the private sector and increasing the demand for research in the industry were the opportunities. High inflation, political sanctions, the absence of consulting engineering companies and the uncertainty of research priorities of industries were important threats to the OHE department. Therefore, the OHE department is in a conservative strategic position. The strategic direction of the department, including the mission, vision, values and goals, until 2025 was determined. Improving the structures, working processes and performance of the occupational health department were determined as objectives and 81 actions were formulated to achieve these objectives.
Conclusion: The educational departments, schools and universities must have a strategic plan for progress. The strategic plan of the occupational health department of TUMS was formulated in line with the four-year plan of the university and coordinated with the operational plans of the educational, health and research deputies of TUMS and school of public Health. Proper implementation of this comprehensive and evidence-based strategic plan will improve the performance of the occupational health department.

Abstract
Introduction: In recent years, the manufacture of air purification media, especially nanofiber filters using polymeric materials and the electrospinning method, has received much attention in air pollution control. The production of high-performance media and low-pressure drops is an important issue in air filtration. This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of fabricating electrospinning polyethylene terephthalate (PET) media to abduct submicron and micron particles from the air stream.
Material and Methods: To determine the optimal device conditions in the manufacture of PET media, different weight percentages of a PET polymer solution in a mixture of trifluoroacetic acid and dichloromethane solvents (70:30) were first prepared in a pilot study, and various parameters of the electrospinning device were examined and analyzed along with performing the electrospinning process. The surface and morphological characteristics of the media were evaluated using SEM. The pressure drop and efficiency of particle trapping were assessed using a mask and media pressure by a pressure drop test device.
Results: The optimal electrospinning conditions of the PET polymer solution were obtained at a concentration of 20%. The average diameter of nanofibers PET was 163 ± 600 nm with a pressure drop of 26.33 ± 5.5 pa, and average efficiencies of 97.42 ± 1.67% and 99.85 ± 0.21 were obtained for submicron and micron particles, respectively, with a quality factor (QF) value of 0.1740.
Conclusion: The produced media can abduct and remove particles from the air stream for submicron and micron particles in ranges of 96-99% and 99-100%, respectively, with an average pressure drop of 26.33±5.5 pa.

Abstract
Introduction: Many industries have multiple factors harmful to health, leading to simultaneous exposure of these factors to each other. Noise is one of the most common physical parameters in the work environment. On the other hand, heat is also increasing due to various energy processes in industries. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining changes in physiological parameters and visual-auditory attention in acute exposure to heat and noise.
Material and Methods: In this experimental study, 72 individuals (36 men and 36 women) aged between 23 and 33 years participated according to the inclusion criteria. In total, 12 different test modes were performed (3 temperature levels and 4 noise pressure levels). The test was conducted for each person in 4 steps during a specific day. The duration of exposure to each condition was half an hour, and a half-hour rest was given between each test condition. Saliva samples of each subject were collected before and immediately after exposure to noise and heat. Also, The Integrated Visual and Auditory (IVA) was recorded by the participants simultaneously.
Results: The results of combined exposure to noise and heat on visual and auditory attention showed that only two modes of combined exposure, SPL95+WBGT34 and SPL95+WBGT29, caused a significant increase (P < 0.05) in mental workload and a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in visual and auditory attention. In addition, the results showed that independent exposure to noise at the levels of 85 and 95 dB and exposure to heat at higher temperature levels of 34 and 29 degrees Celsius cause a significant increase (P < 0.05) in salivary cortisol after exposure. The results of the effect of combined exposure to noise and heat on salivary cortisol showed that three experimental modes of combined exposure (SPL85+WBGT34, SPL95+WBGT29, and SPL95+WBGT34) caused a noticeable and significant (P<0.001) increase in salivary cortisol.
Conclusion: Indeed, salivary cortisol can be recommended as a physiological index to evaluate noise and heat exposure. It’s also noteworthy that salivary cortisol is more affected by noise and heat exposure than cognitive performance.

Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of occupational health is to maintain and improve the health of employees and improve their physical, mental and social well-being through the prevention, control and elimination of occupational hazards. It is necessary to integrate educational, research and health service activities to prevent and control potential occupational health hazards in the community. This study aimed to develop a Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) for occupational health at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS).
Material and Methods: In this participatory action research, a strategic planning committee was established, whose members were professors of the occupational health department in the school of public health and managers of the occupational health department in the health deputy of TUMS. The strategic planning committee carried out a strategic evaluation of the internal and external environments of both occupational health deprtments of TUMS and identified the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Then, the strategic direction of JCPOA including the vision, mission, values, goals and objectives was determined. Also, the strategies and actions to achieve the goals and objectives were identified. Finally, the action plan to achieve these objectives was developed.
Results: This applied research led to the strategic evaluation of the internal and external environments of the occupational health depratment of the School of Public Health and the occupational health depratment of the Health deputy of TUMS, determining the strategic direction, and finally, developing an action plan to achieve the goals and objectives.
Conclusion: The JCPOA for occupational health was developed using a collaborative and systemic approach. The proper implementation of this plan can lead to the improvement of occupational health indicators in the community. Cooperation between university and industry is necessary for the sustainable development of society.

Abstract
Introduction: Nowadays, the statistics prove that the underground construction projects in the country are increasing, as well as the number of accidents arising from the unsafe condition of these projects. The purpose of this study was to create a framework of safety and health risk management in the construction phase of the Tehran Metro Line 7 tunnel, using IoT technology.
Material and Methods: In the first stage, the national safety and health standards, laws and requirements related to the mentioned hazards were collected. In the second stage, the criteria and permissible limits of exposure to occupational hazards were determined. Next, sensors with optical, auditory, gas detection, and visual capabilities connected to the network were examined, and computer programming and comparing sensor information with the specified standards were carried out. Finally, intelligent warning and control systems related to the determined hazards were proposed.
Results: In this study, a combined model of risk management utilizing IoT for controlling and monitoring safety and health hazards such as sound, light, explosive and toxic gases was proposed. According to the model, sensors for detecting the mentioned hazards were determined and coded based on the permissible limit of each of the harmful factors.
Conclusion: This study has shown that by employing specialized IT and safety knowledge and utilizing relevant software and hardware, the concept of the Internet of Things can be utilized in precise monitoring of the concentration levels of flammable and toxic gases, as well as monitoring of physical agents such as noise and light in various workplace, such as metro tunnel construction sites.
