Abstract

Introduction: Any disorders or injuries to musculoskeletal system due to working procedure or conditons would be considered as work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). The present study aimed to evaluate body postures and main risk factors contributing musculoskeletal disorder in barbers in IRAN, SARDASHT

.

Materials and Methods: This study is a descriptive – analytical and cross sectional study. Total number of the hairdressers in Sardasht city were one hunderd and ten people. Nordic questionnaire, camcorder and Reba checklist were used to collect required data.

.

Results: Based on the demographic data 42.9 % of the studied people were male and 57 .1% were women with the mean age of 18.8±73.31 and 75.6±12.28, respectively. Elbow pain has the highest prevalence (90%) and it was 71, 70, 68, 66, 63, 56, 48, 45 percent respectively, in the neck, wrist . hand, shoulder, hip, thigh, back, foot, ankle, knee, back body regions. According to the posture assessment, 27.6% of the risks were in moderate to high levels of exposure as risk factors for the musculoskeletal disorders.

.

Conclusion: High prevalence of upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders shows that inappropriate posture, improper use of work tools, and highly repetitive movements for long period in make up task are the main reasons for the er prevalence of upper limb disorders in this occupational group.

Abstract

Introduction. The effect of exercise program on the prevention of upper extremities musculoskeletal disorders has attracted the attention of researchers. On the other hand, in assembly workers, the risk of these disorders increases because the part of the body is used successively and without rest. The current study investigates the effect of 8 weeks of Kinesio Taping and sport program on grip endurance in female assembly workers of an electrical piece industrial manufacturer.
Materials and Methods. The current study was used a descriptive-analytic, cross-sectional method among 40 female assembly workers. Participants are exercised and used Kinesio taping for two times per week at eight weeks. The endurance of the grip was determined before and after the intervention by a dynamometer and the maximum time (in seconds) that one was able to continue one third of the maximum voluntary contraction. The DASH questionnaire was used to assess upper limb extremities’ disability. Data were analyzed using SPSS Ver.20 and the P value was considered smaller than 0.05.
Results. In the present study, the mean of right and left hand grip endurance in kinesio type and exercise group before intervention were obtained 10.55 and 9.51, whereas, related results after intervention were obtained 20.55 and 16.18, respectively. Also the score of upper limb disability in kinesio type and exercise group before intervention were obtained 10.55 and 9.51 and after intervention obtained 20.55 and 16.18, respectively(P <0.05).
Conclusion. According to the results, sport exercise and kinesio taping, lead to the increase in the grip endurance time and decrease in the upper limb disability.

Abstract

Introduction: One of the most critical factors supporting industry managers and decision-makers in adapting to changes is the Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard. Dashboards, enriched with indicators, reports, and charts, enable managers to monitor industry performance at any given time.
Material and Methods: To evaluate safety status and prevent future accidents, risk factors within the industry were assessed using the RI risk index. In this study, the index was calculated through a geometric averaging relationship. Additionally, the ARIMA (2,0,0) time series model was applied, converting the average daily Risk Index into the Predicted Risk Index.
Results: Based on the occurrence of accidents, when the trend of the Risk Predictor Index is below 3, it is considered a safe zone in that industry. When the index trend is between 3 and 4, it represents a warning zone. If the index exceeds 4, there is a high probability of accidents, categorizing it as an action zone. According to the presented dashboard and zoning, the industry manager can conclude that 33% of risks are in the action area, 24% of the risks are in the warning area and 43% of the identified risks are in the safe area.
Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrated that leveraging business intelligence for prioritization can enhance decision-making and analytical processes for senior organizational managers.
