Abstract

Background and Aim: The disabled people are a part of our society (1%) and a disabled will face incorrect behaviors from childhood that is caused by an incomplete understanding of the society, but family can play a constructive role to increase the disabled abilities.
This study was conducted to determine the views of deaf, blind and physical motor handicaps and their families regarding disability in the family in the Qazvin and Karaj.

Materials and Methods: One hundered and fifty handicaps and their families from handicaps center, welfare office, the disabled school students, the Mostazafan and Janbazan foundation were enrolled in this study. Information was collected by using 2 questionnaires. T test and Analyses Of Variance have been applied for data analysis, using SPSS software.

Results: The results show that among different disabilities, the deaf ones and their families had more positive view than other disabled ones about their disabilities.
Also, increasing the number of family members can cause more negative view about disability (p<0.05). This study shows that there isn't a significant relationship between the disabled view and his / her gender, cause of disability and parents high education

Conclusion: With regard to the similarity of the disables and their families views about disability and also their need to obtain more awareness about disability, the disable's needs and complications, it is necessary to stress on correct training of disabled person, his/ her family and the society.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Regarding the importance of communicators' presence in health programs and the fact that in recent years, we have witnessed a decrease in their cooperation or a cut in their relationship with the headquarters. This qualitative study was performed to clarify communicators and instructors' administrative-recreational experiences in breaking off with the headquarters.

Materials and Methods: This qualitative study was carried out on 60 healthcare communicators, 20 ex- communicators and 35 instructors selected through purposive sampling. The data were collected using focus discussion groups and semi-structured interviews with the participants. For data analysis, qualitative content analysis was employed.

Results: The findings of data analysis revealed two main levels: recreational and administrative. The key themes of the former included medical facilities, gifts, employment, futurism and camp and of the latter consisted of credit resources, instructors' conditions, organizational posts and orientation.

Conclusion: Expressing what is expected from communicators when selecting them can play a significant role in keeping them up with their jobs. Holding meetings between authorities and communicators' representatives to discuss their problems and present solutions, holding reward ceremonies, preparing the grounds for attracting financial resources to support communicators' programs, appreciating them and enhancing the communicators and instructors' academic level, and creating organizational posts for instructors can be effective in maintaining their presence and enhancing health communicators' program.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Equitable distribution of resources in health sector is one of the prerequisites of social justice in any society. The aim of this study is to determine inequality in the distribution of specialists and hospital beds in West Azerbaijan Province.

Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive study. The population of the study consists of all hospital beds in the public sector and all specialists working in the health sector of West Azerbaijan Province in 2012 . The required data were collected after referring to health and treatment d eputies of Urmia University of Medical Sciences and Statistical Center of Iran . To determine inequity in the distribution of specialists and hospital beds, per capita resource indicators, the Gini coefficient, and Lorenz curve were employed.

Results: Distribution of specialist physicians in the province was not equitable the situation was the same as regards hospital beds, too.

Conclusion: It seems that neither the distribution of specialist physicians nor the number of hospital beds is proportional to the population. Besides, measures such as p roviding special welfare facilities, paying higher wages, and considering the health needs of people in the province can better attract physicians and modify the existing shortcomings.

Abstract

Background and Aim: The cornerstone of primary prevention is adopting a healthy lifestyle including abstaining from smoking, maintaining appropriate body weight and appropriate eating habits. The aim of the study was to clarify anthropometric and healthy lifestyles measurements among the working women.
Materials and Methods: The cross sectional study was conducted in 2014. A total of 682 working women at TUMS voluntarily participated in this study. The data collecting tool was Women's Health initiative checklist (SABA) consisted of two parts anthropometric and lifestyle indices, were developed and validated by MOHME. Descriptive and analytic statistics was used for analyzing data.
Results: Most of the participants were on a diet (%88.1) in the past year. In general, women did not have satisfactory healthy eating habits. Vegetable consumption was only 47/6% and 52% took soft drinks and ate fast foods. Regarding physical activity only 28% of women had proper physical activities. Data for Body Mass Index (BMI) showed that less than half of them were overweight or obese, and 42% with central obesity. 
Conclusion: According to findings of this study. Anthropometric indices and lifestyle for working women is far from satisfactory condition and make potential risks for their health, which needs to be improved. Establishing training programs and facilities for women to adopt healthy lifestyle including eating habits, and daily physical activity, not only can promote their health, but also improves their personal, family and social performances along with enhancing public health culture.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Training and proper distribution of human resources are essential for maintaining and promoting society’s health. The first step in any health-related planning is to assess the current situation to draw a clear picture of the future to balance demand and supply. This research was conducted to assess the current situation of medical entomology and vector control/biology and vector control of the diseases in the country and determine the required human resources till 2025.
Materials and Methods: In this study, a “modified and combination model” was used, including the Hall model, which is location-based, and the Australian health workforce estimation model, which is a needs-based approach. The research was carried out in multiple stages, which included collecting the required data (number of faculty members, students, and graduates), the number of private companies providing spraying, and pest control services in all cities of the country and finally holding meetings with the board members of Biology and vector control of diseases and experts to estimate the human resources required in this field.
Results: Based on the data collected and face-to-face interviews conducted during six sessions with the experts in this field, it has been estimated that a total of 985 graduates have been trained in this discipline to date, while there is a requirement for 1,338 graduates in this area. Consequently, it is essential to train an additional 353 individuals in this field by the year 1404. In light of the country’s sixth five-year development plan, which allocates 30 percent of the total student population to postgraduate studies, it is imperative to prepare 35 individuals at the doctoral level, 71 at the master’s level, and 247 at the undergraduate level.
Conclusion: It seems that by accepting an average of 9 people at the Ph.D. level, 18 people at the master’s level, and 62 people at the bachelor’s level, in addition to matching the amount of demand and supply, there will be no problem for the employment of the graduates of this field.
