Abstract

Background and Aim: In several KT plans the researcher self evaluation is basis of researchers KT activities measurement so the aim of this study was the validity of researchers self assessment about their own activities in KT.

Materials and Methods: The valid and reliable questionnaire was filled by 40 Golestan University of Medical Sciences researchers. In this questionnaire researchers were asked to give a score from 0 to 10 for their own activities in KT in a finished special project. Statistical analysis was performed using pair T test and Pearson correlation coefficient. The linear regression was used for assessing the effect of influential factors on KT self evaluation and activity scores.

Results: The mean score of researchers KT activity and self evaluation was 3.52 and 5.47 respectively which this difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). The correlation coefficient between researchers' activity and self evaluation score was 0.73 which is an indicator of good correlation. The influential factors on researchers' KT self evaluation score in regression model was male gender, having administrative responsibility and percent of total time allocated to research and the influential factors on researchers' KT activities score in regression model was male gender, type of research (clinical sciences research compared to basic sciences) and percent of total time allocated to research.

Conclusion : The results of this study shows that researchers overestimate their own activities in KT so adopting strategies like education about KT concepts and activities for increasing researchers knowledge and perception can fill research and action gap.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Breast cancer is epidemiological and most important cause of death in women. Oxidative stress plays an important role in this disease. Antioxidants such as some vitamins has attracted the attention of scientists to deal with oxidative stress. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of vitamin supplements in reducing oxidative stress in breast cancer.

Materials and Methods: 38 BALB-C mice were used. They were created in the breast cancer by cell implantation procedure. Rats were divided into 4 groups: 4 mice were given vitamin supplements for 1 month, 4 mice vitamin A, 4 mice, vitamin D, and 4 mice were given vitamin E respectively. After a month mice had breast cancer. In the second group mice without vitamin supplements, were affected. In the third group, mice with vitamin supplements were not affected. In the blood serum of rats, the catalase, superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity was measured by ELISA.

Results: Catalase activity in mice that received vitamin supplements was significantly increased and were diagnosed (P=0.049). But the increase was not significant with vitamin D supplement (P=0.287). Superoxide dismutase in mice that received vitamin supplements and were free of disease increased significantly (P=0.0249). But the increase was not statistically significant with vitamin D supplement (P=0.24).The total antioxidant capacity in mice that received vitamin supplements and were affected with breast cancer was significantly increased (P<0.0001). This increase was not significant with vitamin D (P=0.006).

Conclusion: The use of vitamin supplements with catalase, superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity was significantly correlated and may increase the level of antioxidant markers.

Abstract

Background and Aim: The emergence of Web interactive technologies has enabled interactive social networking services. The purpose of this research is to choose a model and present an architectural design for the social network of health at Shariati Hospital in Tehran.
Materials and Methods: At first, valid enterprise architecture frameworks were reviewed. Then, dimensions of the architecture frameworks needed for the social network of health were reviewed and six dimensions including of input, output, goals, views, abstraction, and system life cycle were selected. Architecture frameworks were prioritized on the basis of these six dimensions and the Zachman framework was selected. The extracted elements for these dimensions were evaluated by using a researcher-made questionnaire and experts’ opinion in the t-test. The questionnaire was distributed among 40 health-care information technology experts. After analyzing and verifying the dimensions and sub-indicators of each dimension, probable risks for the implementation of the health social network were identified based on interviews with experts and were approved by a panel of five experts.
Results: The Zachman framework was selected based on six dimensions as a suitable framework and potential implementation risks were identified.
Conclusion: The results showed that the proposed architecture model could be the basis for the implementation of this network in the country. Attention to extracted risks can minimize the failure of the implementation of the health social network.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Studies have shown that non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs have an effect on cancer cells of digestive system, however, the cellular and molecular mechanism of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and their effects on the proliferation of gastrointestinal cancer cells is unclear in many cases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of cytotoxic dose of tolmetin on BAX and BCL2 genes expression level in gastric cancer cells (AGS).
Materials and Methods: In this laboratory-experimental study, AGS cells were purchased from Pasture institute and divided into control group and groups exposed to different concentrations of tolmetin. MTT assay was used to measure cytotoxic effects of tolmetin. Real-time PCR was used to evaluate BAX and BCL2 genes expression levels. The data were statistically analyzed between groups using ANOVA.
Results: Higher decrease in relative expression level of anti-apoptotic BCL2 was observed than expression level of apoptotic BAX gene in AGS cells exposed to IC50 concentration of tolmetin.
Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that tolmetin can induce apoptosis in gastric cancer cells by decreasing of anti-apoptotic BCL2 gene expression level. Therefore, consideration might be given to tolmetin in treatment of gastric cancer.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Vaccination is one of the most effective preventive measures to control of infectious diseases. To create effective interventions for the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine, it is important to identify the factors that affect the vaccine acceptance. The aim of this study was to determine the predictive power of the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM) for acceptance of Covid-19 vaccine. 
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1455 people over 18 years old covered in health centers living in Bushehr province in cities of Bushehr, Genaveh, Tangestan, and Asaluyeh in 2021 were selected by convenience method. Data collection was online by using questionnaire included three sections comprised of demographic factors, questionnaire related to model constructs, and self-administered questionnaire related to acceptance of Covid-19 vaccine. Data were analyzed using chi-square, two independent sample T-test and logistic regression; in SPSS software. 
Results: Out of 1455 participants, 1067 persons (73.3%) had been vaccinated. The results showed that men (P=0.006), people with higher education (P=0.001), government employees (P=0.001), single people (P=0.01), people with history of specific disease (P=0.05), individuals with a history of Covid-19 positive test (P=0.001) and their family (P=0.03) were more than other vaccine recipients. Perceived severity, response efficacy and perceived self-efficacy were predictors of vaccine acceptance. Predictive variables and constructs explained 43.8% of changes in vaccine acceptance. Among the participants in the study, 1366 (93.9%) were in the fear control process, in which the highest defense response has been avoided.
Conclusion: In order to increase the acceptance of the vaccine, the efficacy and effectiveness of the vaccine and the severity of the complications of the disease should be emphasized. Therefore, public health campaigns aimed at increasing vaccine acceptance should provide a high level of transparency about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines to the community.
