Abstract

Background and Aim: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a lymphoprolifrative disorder, which is very heterogeneous in prognosis. Therefore, the analysis of the prognostic factors should be very helpful in diagnosing patients with a poor prognosis. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between circulating Endothelial cells number with VWF levels along with the other hematological findings in CLL.

Materials and Methods: Peripheral blood samples were obtained from 30 CLL patients admitted to the hematology department of Firozgar hospital and 30 healthy subjects. The levels of CEC were measured by the presence of CD34 and VWF markers, and absence of CD45 marker, using flow cytometry. VWF levels was evaluated by ELISA.

Results: The CEC levels were significantly higher in blood of the CLL patients (0.64%), when compared to the controls (0.12%, P=0.002). The levels of plasma VWF were higher among high grade patients, when compared to controls and patients in lower grades. There was a negative correlation between CEC levels, and Hb concentration in the patients group (r=-0.47, P=0.01).

Conclusion: Although the levels of both CEC count and plasma VWF in patient with high grade CLL were increased when compared to patients with low grade, there was no significant correlation between these two parameters.

Abstract

Background and Aim: In recent years, the growing importance of health care has led to a focus on improving the quality of services, and healthcare centers have paid attention to it as a strategic competitive advantage. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of improving the quality of services in the promotion of brand performance in healthcare industry. 
Materials and Methods: In this study, 392 patients of Tehran hospitals were selected through cluster sampling. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were used for data analysis. Also, to compare public and private hospitals, independent samples t-test was used.
Results: Research findings indicate that the desirable quality of services has a significant positive effect on brand equity; and brand equity has a meaningful effect on brand preference, repurchasing and brand performance. Moreover, brand preference has a significant effect on brand performance and the decision to repeat purchasing. In the end, the meaningful effect of repurchasing decision on brand performance in healthcare industry was confirmed. 
Conclusion: According to the results, it can be stated that considering healthcare improvement plans, hospitals can enhance their brand among many healthcare centers. This entails both the promotion of community’s health and the increase of profitability.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Educating the audience is one of the things that can affect their mental perception of the usefulness and ease of utilizing technology. Due to the lack of knowledge about the unique features and ease of use of Tehran University of Medical Sciences website, some audiences prefer to use the old website and do not accept the changes on the university website well. This research was conducted with the aim of comparing the two methods of face-to-face training and clip training in accepting information technology changes on the university website and evaluating the audience’s awareness of branding features on the web.
Materials and Methods: There were 90 people who participated in this study, 45 of whom received face-to-face training and 45 of them received training about site changes through video clips. Research data collection was done based on Davis questionnaire and data analysis was done using SPSS and Padprism graph software. To compare a quantitative variable in more than two groups, one-way analysis of variance test or Kruskal-Wallis test and also, and also, one-way ANCOVA test were used to check the difference between groups before and after training.
Results: In face-to-face training, variables such as awareness, usefulness and perceived ease of use, as well as attitude and performance regarding the use of information technology before and after face-to-face training or clip did not have significant differences.
Conclusion: Examining the effectiveness of the teaching methods in this project will help the public relations of the university to act quickly for the changes that will occur in the field of web branding in the future, in terms of preparing and accompanying the audience.
