Abstract
Background: Study of the attitudes of health information management experts in health systems could be regarded in order to maximize utilization of information. The research reported here aimed to study of attitudes of medical records departments in Iran about mechanisms of development of health care system information technology.
Material and method: A cross- sectional research was developed by a questionnaire to study the attitudes of medical records departments of 17 universities by mail in Iran. 49 of them completed the questionnaire and returned it to us. Therefore the response rate was 70 percent. The data were saved by SPSS software and analyzed by statistical method.
Results: Faculty members of universities of medical sciences believe that the must hindrances of development of electronic health records in Iran are low budget and lack of standards.
Conclusion: Utilization of health information management experts attitudes could be assured the improvement of health care information technology.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Ever-increasing development of access to appropriate software and hardware for e-learning especially development of worldwide web has suggested new horizons for educational institutes. It is much important in medical sciences, because Medical Sciences deal with the health of human beings. Since beside issues related to education, research and information production, appropriate treatment of the patients is possible through having up to date and new information as well. For this reason Medical Sciences utilize information technology as soon as possible in order to prepare essential information for physicians quickly. This article discusses the role of e-learning in Medical Sciences universities.
Materials and Methods: in this literature review article, gathering information has been done by using paper and paperless documents related to the topic.
Results: For implementing of e-learning in Medical Sciences organization there should be some infra-structures, standards and skills which are to be noted prior to commencing e-learning. These infra-structures, standards and skills play a special role in successful implementation of e-learning.
Conclusion: Regarding the advantages of e-learning naturally possesses, there is no doubt in necessity of developing Medical Sciences e-learning. But the ways of efficient access to this sort of education is much more important. So, it is recommended that by comparing the existing process in the world and using the experiences of prominent countries in this field, the most appropriate method be chosen and applied.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Information Technologies (ITs) has become a significant resource for dissemination of information and resulted to an increase of health knowledge in communities. With attention to patient - centered approach this study was done to determine knowledge of inpatients about ITs.
Materials and Methods: A descriptive - cross-sectional study was done on 461 inpatient in Kashan University of Medical Sciences hospital's with a reliable (spearman Brown, r =0.83) and valid (face and content) questionnaire in two section, demographic information and study objects. Data gathering was done with interview then analyzed by SPSS and descriptive analysis.
Results: %42.1 and %26.7 of participants had knowledge about computer and the Internet relatively. %41.9 of them had the Internet access. 86.3% and 88.3% relatively would be interested to access and get medical records and their information. They intended to get test (%85.7), refill her/his prescription (79%), get appointment (%76.4), consult with physicians (%80), and get information about diets (80%) through ITs.
Discussion and Conclusion: It seems ITs attitude in inpatients is relatively good. Providing their information needs especially about prescription order and diets from CD or the Internet by hospital sites and introducing good medical sites to patient were recommended.

Abstract
Background and Aim: One of the most important reasons why organizations are distinguished from one another is the degree of application and implementation of information technology in their organizational activities. In this regard, individual factors contribute considerably to the application of information technology (IT). Such factors include employees' perceptions and attitudes towards information technology and their demographic characteristics which affect the level of information technology acceptance and implementation.
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 110 middle managers from teaching hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) were chosen. A structured questionnaire was used as the data collection device and its validity and reliability were confirmed by a pilot study.
Results: Of the participants, 62.9% were males and 37.1% were females. The findings show that there is a statistically significant relationship between perception and making decisions based on the implementation of information technology. However, there was no significant relationship between work experience, education and training on the one hand and IT implementation on the other.
Conclusion: The results show that human factors (perception and decision) have a considerable impact on the implementation of information technology. Top managers and experts should consider the important aspects of human factors and also the factors affecting them.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Urban health is one of the challenges of the 21st century. Rapid growth and expanding urbanization have implications for health. In this regard, information technology can remove a large number of modern cities' problems. Therefore, the present article aims to study modern information technologies in the development of urban health.
Materials and Methods: This is a review article based on library research and Internet searches on valid websites such as Science Direct, Magiran, Springer and advanced searches in Google. Some 164 domestic and foreign texts were studied on such topics as the application of ICT tools including cell phones and wireless tools, GIS, and RFID in the field of urban health in 2011. Finally, 30 sources were used.
Conclusion: Information and communication technologies play an important role in improving people's health and enhancing the quality of their lives. Effective utilization of information and communication technologies requires the identification of opportunities and constraints, and the formulation of appropriate planning principles with regard to social and economic factors together with preparing the technological, communication and telecommunications, legal and administrative infrastructure

Abstract
Background and Aim: Decision support systems(DSSs) refer to one of the types of information technology applications that can help clinicians to make right and timely decisions about patients. The aim of this study is to learn more about DSSs and their applications and effects on health care.
Materials and Methods: In this systematic review, articles which were published between 2000 and 2012, which were available as full texts through databases and search engines -- such as PubMED, EBSCO host research, Google scholar and Yahoo -- and which were also of clinical-trial type were examined besides, certain books in this area were used as primary sources.
Conclusion : The findings show that DSSs were applied in five areas in health care, which had a significant effect on improving the process of care and the performance of providers. These areas are as follows: disease progress management(15.15%), care and treatment(27.27%), medication(27.27%), evaluation(27.27%), and preventation(12.12%). In general, improvement can be seen in three areas: quality of care and patient safety, cost effectiveness, and provider’s level of knowledge.

Abstract
Background and Aim: One of the most important reasons why organizations are distinguished from each other is the extent to which each applies information technology. Among the most important factors playing a role in the application of information technology are organizational factors such as organizational resources, organizational knowledge, processes, management structure, values and goals all these elements affect the level of information technology acceptance and application. Therefore, this study aims to determine the degree to which the above-mentioned elements can affect the application of information technology by middle managers of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) teaching hospitals.
Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive-analytic study conducted in 2010. The subjects comprised 110 middle managers of TUMS teaching hospitals. The data-collection instrument was a questionnaire structured by the researchers, and its validity and reliability were confirmed prior to the study. The response rate was 80%.
Results: The participants consisted of 56 (62.9%) males and 33 (37.1%) females. The findings of the study showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between organizational resources, organizational knowledge, processes, management structure, values and goals on the one hand and the application of information technology in TUMS hospitals on the other (p<0.01).
Conclusion: The results show that organizational factors have a considerable impact on the application of information technology. Besides, managers and experts should consider the important aspects and effects of these organizational factors.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Information technology acceptance model predicts acceptance based on end-users' perceived usefulness and ease of use of technology for a specific purpose. The aim of this study is to understand nursing staff’s adoption of clinical information systems based on information technology acceptance model.
Materials and Methods: This descriptive- analytic study was conducted on 316 nurses in hospitals affiliated with Semnan University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) and those affiliated with the Social Security Organization (SSO). The data collection tool was a valid and reliable questionnaire . The d ata were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney and chi-square tests .
Results: Some 73 % of nurses agreed that the nursing information system provides them with correct information. Besides, 55.7% of nurses had accepted the information system. The results showed that male nurses had admitted clinical information systems more than female ones (P<0.05). Moreover, nurses who were aware of their duties towards the computer program or those who were aware of the goals of computer applications had adopted information technology more (P <0.05).
Conclusion : Most of the nurses had accepted the clinical information system in their daily work. However, issues such as inadequate number of computers , content design, system c apability problems, and nurses' computer skills and knowledge should be seriously examined . Moreover, several interventions should be planned and developed in technical and individual areas such as enhancement of nurses' IT knowledge , teamwork culture , organizational position , team cooperation, and updating and upgrading the network.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Despite all inherent advantages of information technology in health sector, its implementation still faces many problems. One of the most important barriers is people’s resistance. This study was carried out to survey the factors affecting the acceptance of information technology by Health Information Management (HIM) staff of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) hospitals based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in 2011.
Materials and Methods: It is a descriptive-analytical survey. The population of the study consisted of the HIM staff (363 members) of TUMS hospitals. As the sample, 123 employees were selected. The data gathering tool was a questionnaire the validity and reliability of which were confirmed. The data were collected and analyzed by SPSS software, descriptive statistical methods and Spearman Test.
Results: The results showed that there was a positive direct relationship between perceived ease of use (PEOU) on the one hand and the staff’s attitude and their application of IT on the other hand (R=0.14, P= 0.05 R=0.36, P=0.05). Also, perceived usefulness (PU) had a significant direct effect on the staff’s attitude and their application of IT (R=0.22, P= 0.05 R=0.37, P=0.05).
Conclusion : Perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) are the factors affecting the acceptance of information technology by the HIM staff of TUMS hospitals. Therefore, it is suggested that the above two principles be considered when designing and implementing the IT systems.

Abstract
Background and Aim: The function of any technology in a society depends on the culture of that society. Organizational culture leads to a common understanding and agreement on institutional practices. Meanwhile, it is a powerful barrier to change, especially technological change. This study aims to determine the effect of indicators of organizational culture on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology in hospitals of Rasht, Gilan Province.
Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive-analytic study . From April to July 2013, 235 questionnaires were completed by health, administrative, financial and educational personnel of Razi, Poursina, and Heshmat Hospitals. For data analysis, such tests as compound reliability test, root mean square of variance, bootstrap test, t-test, and hierarchical regression were applied using Lisrel, PLS and SPSS softwares.
Results: Among the components of organizational culture (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, subjective norm, and facilitating conditions), there was a significant relationship only between "performance expectancy and facilitating conditions" and "behavioral inclination and using computers" (P<0.0001). Gender played no role in the relationship between cultural components and the use of computers (P>0.05).
Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that there is a relationship between organizational culture and application of information technology, and that a unified organizational culture can facilitate and speed up the acceptance and application of information technology.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Functions and services of academic libraries have been affected very much by the entrance and the development of information technology (IT) in university libraries. Since the main mission of academic libraries is advance of educational and research programs of university, the authorities should deploy expertise with technical skills to be able to fulfill their most important job. The aim of this study was to identify factors influencing the adoption of information technology by librarians of governmental academic libraries based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).
Materials and Methods: This was a survey research and the tool was a questionnaire based on TAM. The study population consisted of 151 librarians and census method was used. The validity was confirmed by experts in library and information sciences and also IT. Reliability obtained 0.89 using Cronbach's alpha. Statistical method was descriptive, inferential and data analysis was done via software SPSS20.
Results: Determination coefficient 0.282 shows that TAM is applicable in research population. This means that the applicability of the TAM was relatively appropriate for study about librarians of university libraries. Priorities effects of TAMs variables on the actual use of IT shows the most effective variable are intent to use (0.39), perceived ease of use (0.21), perceived usefulness (0.15) and attitude to use of IT (0.12).
Conclusion: Provision of required IT infrastructure and training for effective use should be considered for librarians. In addition to that, courses of introduction to library information technology should be included in the library and information science curriculum.

Abstract
Background and Aim: In each organization, there is a debate about the use of IT. Human development is one of the factors influencing the efficiency and success of any organization. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of information technology on empowerment of staff working in Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and Methods: This study was descriptive-survey research and applied in terms of purpose. A total of 274 staff members from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences were surveyed by sampling according to the Krejcie-Morgan table from among 950 employees. The tools used in the Ardalan questionnaire were divided into two parts of IT, including 10 questions and a staff empowerment questionnaire containing 23 questions. Data were analyzed by SPSS 13 software, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and one-sample T-test.
Results: The research findings showed that the use of information technology on five dimensions of job empowerment including competency, improvement of quality of work, increased decision-making power, increasing self-control, and reducing job stress have a significant effect.
Conclusion: The most important task of managers of universities is to improve the ability and job satisfaction of employees, holding in-service training courses in the field of computers and the Internet and encouraging employees to use more computers in their related activities.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Today along with information technology development, telemedicine technology has expanded dramatically. Sinse telemedicine technology relies on data transmission, it is essential to pay attention to issues such as network security, confidentiality, and privacy of patients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the importance of information security requirements in telemedicine networks based on managers and employees of the information technology unit of the University and teaching hospitals of Birjand city
Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in year 2021. The research population was The managers and employees of the information technology unit of the university and teaching hospitals of Birjand city (40 people), who were surveyed by the census. The study tool was a researcher-made questionnaire that confirmed its validity by faculty members and experts, and its reliability was calculated with Cronbach’s alpha (0.83). After collecting the data, they were entered into the SPSS software and were analyzed using descriptive statistics.
Results: The results showed that the security requirement related to information transportation is more important than other requirements. Also in the field of human resources, providing detailed documentation and training guides for users of the systems was with an average of (4.47). In the medical diagnosis equipment field, telemedicine network systems are equipped with emergency power was with an average of (4.72). In the storage and access to information context, installing antiviruses and anti-malware on all systems was with an average of (4.75), and also in the field of information transfer, encryption of important and sensitive files and information was with an average of (4.69) were the most important security needs.
Conclusions: As the results showed, security requirements related to information transfer have more importance than other requirements; Initially, information security can be guaranteed by creating security policies, updating and monitoring their implementation, as well as training employees. However, in order to transfer sensitive medical information, encryption and qualification verification methods, secure information transfer protocols, virtual and private networks (VPN) and other new technologies can be used in this field. Of course, necessary preparations should be made to create appropriate technical infrastructure for the implementation of security policies in information transmission.
