Abstract
Clozapine is the first antipsycotic drug with a great efficacy. Thirty to fifty percent of treatment-resistant schizophrenics markedly improved with clozapine. Approximately, 25% of long-term patients, treated with clozapine, could be discharged. This improvement included negative as well as positive symptom areas. Clozapine produced no extrapyramidal side effects. Tardive dyskinesia, a major side effect of antipsychotics is not probably induced by the drug. Agranulocytosis that occurs in 1-2% of patients treated with clozapine is the most dangerous side effect with a high mortality rate. So, weekly monitoring of white blood cell count is necessary for safe and effective use of clozapine because fatal outcomes can be reduced and even completely prevented by the early detection of the reduction in white blood cell count. Clozapine offers considerable promise for better antipsychotic effect than currently available drugs, but its high cost causes substantial problems for patients with limited financial income

Abstract
In this research anxiety and depression and their association with 32 different factors in students of Hamedan University of Medical Sciences were measured. Levels of anxiety and depression were assessed by State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (from 2, Trait) and Beck Depression Inventory. A questionnaire made of demographic data, educational and noneducational activities, the presence of medical or psychiatric disorders (over last year) and students' feelings about relationships with their parents as well as educational and financial matters was given to the subjects. Seventy percent of all of the university students completed the two inventories plus questionnaire. Twenty-one percent had a number of 18 or more (the cut-off point for depression) in Beck inventory and 33.4% had a number of 51 or more (the cut off point for anxiety) in State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (from 2, Trait). Differents levels of depression and anxiety and associated variables in each group were determined and discussed.

Abstract
Background: The present study was carried out for determination of prevalence of cryptosporidiosis among infected children in Khooram-Abad city, Iran, 2002-2003.
Materials and Methods: In this survey fecal samples of both rural and urban children were studied.
Results & Conclusion: From all samples, 4.75% were infected. The infection rate was higher in summer and autumn. Also the results showed that the infection rate in Khooram-Abad was higher than Shiraz (3.5%), Bandarabbas (2.4%), Ahwaz (2.23%) and Rasht (1.57%) and the infection rate about equlity Ghazvin (4.75%) and Hamadan (5.3%) and lower than Isfahan (16.9%), Mashhad (14.6%), Urmia (105), Naghadeh (9.2%) and Tabriz (6.15%). Our observations indicated that the infection rate was higher in males (1.5%), equal between rural and urban children. Another finding was accompanying of cryptosporidiosis with some other infections like Shigellosis (15.7%) and giardiosis (5.26%) in some cases.

Abstract
Background: The object of this study was to investigate the antimicrobial resistance pattern among common nosocomial Gram-negative bacilli isolated from patients with nosocomial infections.
Methods: From June 2004 to December 2005, 380 isolates of common Gram-negative bacilli (Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter and E. coli) from 270 patients with nosocomial infections in Sina and Imam Hospitals, Tehran, Iran, were evaluated for susceptibility to Imipenem, Cefepime, Ciprofloxacine, Ceftriaxone and Ceftazidime by Disc diffusion and E-test methods.
Results: The most frequent pathogens isolated were Klebsiella spp. (40%), followed by Pseudomonas (28%), Acinetobacter spp. (20%) and E. coli (12%). The most active antibiotic was imipenem (84%). 26% of all isolates were sensitive to Cefepime, 26% to Ciprofloxacin, 20% to Ceftazidime and 10% to Ceftrixone. The susceptibility rates of Klebsiella to Imipenem, cefepime, ciprofloxacin, Ceftazidime and Ceftriaxone were 91, 25, 21, 13 and 7 percent, respectively and 91, 19, 17, 21 and 21 percent, respectively, for E. coli. Among Acineto- bacter spp., the susceptibility rate was 77% for Imipenem and 21% for Ciprofloxacin. Among Pseudomonas spp., 75% of isolates were susceptible to Imipenem and 39% to Ciprofloxacin. The comparison of the resistance status of microorganisms by both Disc diffusion and E-test methods showed a clinically noticeable agreement between these two tests.
Conclusions: Since antibiotic resistance among Gram-negative bacilli has increased, enforcement of policy regarding proper antibiotic use is urgently needed in order to delay the development of resistance. Although it is widely accepted that E-test is more accurate in determining the resistance of microorganisms, our study showed that the Disc diffusion test will give the same results in most occasions and is therefore still considered useful in clinical practice.

Abstract
Background: Stomatitis, the inflammation of the mucous lining of any of the oral structures, is a frequent side-effect of anticancer drugs due to excess uric acid production. Strict oral hygiene and the application of an appropriate mouthwash has been reported to relieve pain and improve patient quality of life. Allopurinol is a drug used to treat conditions caused by excess uric acid. The aim of this study to evaluate the effectiveness of prophylactic use of allopurinol mouthwash for stomatitis in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 42 patients were randomly assigned to either a study group or a control group. In the study group (28 patients), patients used 5 mg/ml allopurinol mouthwash in hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose. The control group (14 patients) used water instead of the mouthwash. Treatment was administered for 16 days.
Results: Data collected during the daily follow-up of the patients' oral mucosa showed that allopurinol mouthwash decreased the severity, pain and duration of stomatitis.
Conclusion: Preventing stomatitis in patients receiving chemotherapy improves the health of the patient and compliance with treatment. Based on our findings, allopurinol mouthwash should be used for all chemotherapy patients for the prevention of stomatitis. This nursing intervention can also improve the patient's nutritional state and level of satisfaction.

Abstract
Background: The typical features of eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage are delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and prolonged loss of muscle strength. It has been shown that passive warmth is effective in reducing muscle injury. Due to the interaction of different systems in vivo, we used isolated perfused medial gastrocnemius skeletal muscle to study the direct effect of temperature on the eccentric contraction-induced force loss.
Methods: After femoral artery cannulation of a rat, the left medial gastrocnemius muscle was separated and then the entire lower limb was transferred into a prewarmed (35oC) chamber. With the chamber temperature at 31, 35 and 39oC before and during eccentric contraction. Isometric force loss was measured after 15 eccentric contractions (N=7-9).
Results: Maximum contraction force reduction has been used as an index for eccentric contraction-induced force loss. In this study eccentric contraction caused a significant reduction in maximum isometric tension (p<0.01), but no significant difference was seen in isometric force loss at 31oC and 39oC compared with that at 35oC.
Conclusions: Our results suggest that temperature changes before or during eccentric contractions have no effect on eccentric contraction-induced force loss.

Abstract
Background: Pain associated with IV injection of propofol is seen in 28 to 90% of patients. A number of techniques have been tried to minimize propofol-induced pain, with variable results. We compared the efficacy of pretreatment with ephedrine and lidocaine for the prevention of propofol-induced pain.
Methods: One hundred and twenty adult patients, ASA physical status I-II, undergoing elective surgery were randomly assigned into six groups (20 each). Normal saline group received normal saline, lidocaine group received lidocaine 2% (40 mg), and ephedrine (E 30) group received 30 µg/kg ephedrine, ephedrine (E 70) group received 70 µg/kg ephedrine, ephedrine (E 100) group received 100 µg/kg ephedrine, ephedrine (E 150) group received 150 µg/kg ephedrine. All pretreatment drugs were made in two mL. Pain was assessed by a 100-point scale of visual analogue (VAS) (0= no pain, 100= the most severe pain) and (VRS) verbal rating scale at the time of propofol injection. Noninvasive mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) and HR were recorded before induction, just before intubation, and 1, 2, and 3 min after intubation, respectively.
Results: The mean of pain scorel during propofol injection was significantly more in Normal Saline group compared to lidocaine and ephedrine (E30, E70, E100, E150) groups but there was no significant difference between lidocaine and ephedrine (E30, E70, E100, E150) groups (80.9vs 59.6 and 56.2, 51.05, 52.8, 57.45) Kruskal- wallis P=0.009. The incidence of pain was also significantly more in Normal Saline group compared to lidocaine group and ephedrine's groups but there was no significant difference between lidocaine and different dose levels of ephedrine. A small dose of ephedrine (30 and 70 µg/kg) could prevent propofol induced pain before intubation and did not produce significant hemodynamic changes compared with the other groups after intubation.
Conclusions: Pretreatment with ephedrine (specially low dose) effectively attenuated pain intensity, and frequency with propofol injection without undesired complications.

Abstract
Background: Plasminogen has a central role in fibrinolyrtic system can activate through various activators (PAs) to its active form plasmin and perfoem its vital function that is fibrin clot lysis. Furthermore the fibrinolyrtic system plays a major role in angiogenesis. The fibrinolyrtic system activation control cell migration and invasion. In addition to this, plasmin regulates tumor growth. Monoclonal antibodies, as biological tools, play an important role in basic researches.
Methods: In the first step the effects of antibodies on the activation of fibrinolyrtic system with PAs were evaluated with several methods including macroscopic observation, quantitative measurement of DD/E fragments by D-dimer assay and activation of plasminogen by S-2251 synthetic substrate (ELISA method), subsequently we studied the effect of antibodies on angiogenesis process in an in- vitro model.
Results: Results showed that MC2B8 that is an inhibitor of plasminogen activation in presence of plasminogen activators can inhibit angiogenesis process: A1D12 that is against N-terminal domain of Glu-plasminogen, in addition to activation of fibrinolyrtic system in presence of plasminogen activators, can activate in vitro angiogenesis process.
Conclusion: Plasmin formation is a critical step in invasion and migration of endothelial cells to form new vessels. Plasmin directly participates in angiogenesis by direct fibrin and other matrix components degradation, and indirectly by activating matrix degrading metalloproteinase and angiogenic growth factors. According to the in- vitro results, MC2B8 and A1D12 monoclonal antibodies play roles in this process in a dose dependent manner.

Background: Multiple myeloma is a plasma cell dyscrasia
characterized by proliferation of plasma cells in bone marrow associated with
the production of monoclonal immunoglobulins. In
recent years, the use of arsenic trioxide, formerly approved for treatment of
acute promyelocytic leukemia has been considered for refractory myeloma
treatment. This study was
designed and carried out to evaluate the efficacy and possible side effects of ATO
on patients with refractory multiple myeloma.
Methods: This study carried out on myeloma patients whose
diseases were at least refractory to two standard treatment regimens conducted
in Ghazi Tabatabaei
Hospital in Tabriz-
Iran. Arsenic
trioxide was administered as an intravenous infusion at a dose of 0.25
mg/kg/d for 5 d/week during the
first two consecutive weeks of each 4-week
cycle with two week rest. Patients who completed
one 4-weak cycle were evaluated for response to
treatment.
Results: Twelve patients with refractory disease to
conventional treatment regimens received arsenic trioxide. The
response to the treatment assessed based on the amount of serum proteins
electrophoresis of the 10 patients. Stable
disease observed in four patients (33%),
progressive disease in five patients (41.6%),
complete response in one (3.8%) and the
remaning two patients could not be assessed for response (because of increased
liver enzymes after the first week). One
patient completed six cycles. Some adverse events such
as: increase liver enzymes and serum creatinine, neutropenia, pruritus, nausea,
vomiting, lower extremities edema, and noninfectious diarrhea were observed.
Conclusions: The use of arsenic trioxide is promising in treatment of refractory multiple
myeloma.

Abstract
Background: Drugs applied topically to the eye may be absorbed systemically to a substantial degree, with the potential to cause serious systemic side-effects. Children may be particularly vulnerable to systemic effects of topically applied agents as topical doses are often not weight-adjusted.
Case presentation: This article describes a case of serious systemic side-effect by the use of topical phenylephrine, tetracaine, tropicamide and atropine in a 17-year old boy candidate for deep viterectomy in Farabi Hospital in 1389. Following application of the aforesaid eye drops, the patient developed hypertension and subsequent loss of conciseness.
Conclusion: Several types of eye drops and their repeated use can lead to their systemic absorption and medical complications due to overdose. Strategies to minimize systemic absorption should be applied, including use of low concentrations of ophthalmic drugs, administration of one type of the drug, use of microdrops and punctal occlusion to minimize absorption via the nasolacrimal duct. While administering ophthalmic drops, one should take these precautions to minimize the systemic effects of the drugs to prevent subsequent complications.

Abstract
Background: Salen metal complexes are used successfully in a wide range of asymmet-ric reactions and important in the pharmaceutical and industry. On the toxicity of salen vanadium oxide (VOsalen) on embryo and cell cultures, little information is available. In the present study, the toxic and teratogenic effects of VOsalen was evaluated against chicken embryos as a animal model and liver and fibroblast cell cultures which was derived from the embryo.
Methods: The VOsalen compound was synthesized. The compound solution was inject-ed in triplicate examination, in the air sac of the eggs, at third day of incubation. Treat-ed and control eggs, on day 19 of incubation opened and embryos were weighted, then mortality rate was recorded. The liver and fibroblast cell culture were treated by this and survival fraction was recorded.
Results: The survived fraction of the embryos depends on the compound concentration. In concentration of 300μM/egg, 36/32% of the embryos survived and the Lethal dose 50% (LD50) was 226/37 μM/egg. Morphological study of the treated embryos showed retarded growth, and skeletal staining showed the deletion of caudal vertebrate. The compound was inhibited liver and fibroblast cells growth with IC50 1047/25 and 1036/82μM respectively. The cytoplasm of treated cells became dense and their interco-nnections were loosed.
Conclusion: The VOsalen compound had low toxic effects against the embryos and the cultured cells at the concentrations. Significant cytotoxic effect was not observed in the treated cells. However the proliferative cells were affected significantly in comparison with the cells which their growth was stopped. The effect of VOsalen compound against replication of liver cells were lower than fibroblast cells.

Abstract
Background: The effects of consumption of nutrients on coronary artery disease (CAD) are widely observed. The aim of this study is to assess the exclusive Iranian dietary pattern on coronary artery diseases (CAD) and its risk factors. Methods: In this description-cross sectional study, 801 inhabitants of Borujerd City were included by random stratification method and a questionnaire regarding micro- and macronutrients for subjects over 35 years old from March 2011 to February 2012 was filed out. Of all the subjects consent to participate were prepared by volunteers. The complete description and a standard questionnaire to record demographic and socioeconomic status of people were taken. The prevalence of coronary artery disease and its risk factors determined Based on rose questionnaire and Monica questionnaire respectively. Results: In this study mean age of the subjects were 54.8±1.2 years, 388 male and 413 female. There was no meaningful relation between red meat consumption and coronary artery disease (P= 0.117). Nut consumption was higher in patients with CAD (P= 0.028). Use of fresh and cooked vegetables, dried fruit, animal oils cakes, french fries and some dairies are correlated with CAD (P< 0.05). However, artificially flavored soda in contrast to ordinary soda was not associated with coronary artery disease. Conclusion: Although there are some differences between dietary pattern in patient with coronary artery disease, nutritional attitudes are not significantly different in normal and CAD patients. However, according to the importance of diet in CAD, balancing these attitudes should be on the educational system high priority.

Abstract
Fibronectin (FN) is one of the essential component of the extra cellular matrix and their important role is as regulator of cellular activities and also fibronectin is an important scaffold for maintaining tissue. Fibronectin conformational changes expose additional binding sites that participate in fibril formation and in conversion of fibrils into a stabilized, insoluble form. In fact fibronectin is a connected glycoprotein disulfide dimer with sedimentation coefficient of approximately S 13 and 440 kDa molecular mass which is exist in many extracellular matrix and plasma with concentration of approximately 300 µg/ml that during the regeneration body tissues acts in severely regulated stages until regenerate the damaged tissue. Fibronectin has domains for interacting with other extra cellular matrix proteins, cell surface receptors, glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), and other FN molecules. This combination of domains allows FNs to bind simultaneously to cells and to molecules within the surrounding matrix. Also fibronectin have binding sites for collagen/ gelatin, heparin, fibrinogen, and other molecules. In the present study important roles of fibronectin in development, regeneration especially in nerves system and important role of it in treatment of some diseases have been reviewed. Present study has reviewed 77 publications by using of PubMed, NCBI, Elsevier, EBSCO and Nature databases for describing the important roles of fibronectin in biological systems. Studies have shown that fibronectin has diverse roles such as: cellular adhesion, embryonic differentiation, assembly of extra cellular matrix, connecting and cell growth, transformation as well as cell migration that each of this roles depends to fibronectins action site. Considering the important role of fibronectin in attachment of cancer cells to basal lamina, spread neoplasm, tissue regeneration and formation of extra cellular matrix better identification the properties as well as physiological applications of fibronectin in tissues and bodies of animals can provide the better understanding of physiological mechanisms and pathophysiological effects of cells on each other, and also provides the new ways for treatment a variety of diseases.

Abstract
Background: Presently, the graphical data of blood cells (histograms and cytograms or/ scattergrams) that they are usually available in all modern automated hematology analyzers are an integral a part of automated complete blood count (CBC). To find incorrect results from automated hematology analyzer and establish the samples that require additional analysis, Laboratory employees will use those data for quality control of obtaining results, to assist identification of complex and troublesome cases.
Methods: During this descriptive analytic study, in addition to erythrocyte graphs from variety of patients, referring from March 2013 to Feb 2014 to our clinical laboratory, Zagros Hospital, Kermanshah, Iran, are given, the papers published in relevant literature as well as available published manuals of automatic blood cell counters were used. articles related to the key words of erythrocyte graphs and relevant literature as well as available published manuals of automatic blood cell counters were searched from valid databases such as Springer Link, google scholar, Pubmed and Sciencedirect. Then, the articles related to erythrogram, erythrocyte histogram and hematology analyzer graphs are involved in diagnosis of hematological disorder were searched and selected for this study.
Results: Histograms and different automated CBC parameter become abnormal in various pathologic conditions, and can present important clues for diagnosis and treatment of hematologic and non-hematologic disorders. In several instances, these histograms have characteristic appearances in an exceedingly wide range of pathological conditions. In some hematologic disorders like iron deficiency or megaloblastic anemia, a sequential histogram can clearly show the progressive treatment and management.
Conclusion: These graphical data are often accompanied by other automated CBC parameter and microscopic examination of peripheral blood smears (PBS), and can help in monitoring and interpretation of abnormal morphological changes. In the diagnosis and monitoring of anemias, analysis of histograms could also be considered as a new parameter in the combine with red blood cell indices. Histograms ought to use as a screening tool, and not considered diagnostic for pathological conditions.

Abstract
Background: Surgical staging is the standard treatment of ovarian cancer. Pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy is the important part of the surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of para aortic lymph node dissection in early stage of patients with ovarian cancer.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional cohort study was performed on all stage I of ovarian cancer patients admitted in department of gynecology oncology of Ghaem Hospital, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in November 2012 to March 2014. Every patient with clinical early stage of ovarian cancer candidate to surgical treatment selected. All cases underwent surgical staging surgery with concurrent systematic pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy. In laparotomy after identification of left and right iliac artery, all lymph nodes have been properly exposed and dissected as a part of a staging laparotomy. The dissection was continued up to the nodal tissues surrounding the aorta, and inferior vena cava, until inferior mesenteric artery lymphadenectomy level. The procedure performed only by gynecologist oncologist. In addition, we assessed other parameters such as operation time, estimated blood loss, associated mortality and morbidity and vascular injuries. Finally, the effect of para aortic lymph node dissection in early stage of ovarian cancer evaluated.
Results: Among a total of 57 ovarian cancer patients, 27 of them apparent stage I disease cases were selected. Surgical staging surgery with concurrent systematic pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy was carried for all of them. Positive para-aortic lymph node was found only in one case. The average number removed para-aortic lymph nodes in the pelvis was 9 and in para aortic was 7, respectively. In addition, 20 minutes increase in total length of operation time was observed duo to para-aortic lymphadenectomy. Also the rate increase in intra-abdominal hemorrhage rate was estimated 60 ml.
Conclusion: Lymph node dissection will produce a significant benefit in accurate and complete surgical staging. Staging surgery in addition to systematic pelvic and para aortic lymph adenoctomy in early stage ovarian cancer is preferred in gynecologic oncology centers.

Abstract
Background: According to the direct connection between congenital hypothyroidism and iodine deficiency in pregnant women, also relatively high incidence of congenital hypothyroidism in some areas of Kerman province, especially Raver district located in North of Kerman province, this study was performed to determine and compare the urinary iodine concentration (UIC) in pregnant women referring to health centers.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was done during March 2014 and May 2015. Inclusion and exclusion criteria to be considered and UIC were measured by spectrophotometry in 384 and 374 pregnant women in Ravar and Kerman cities, Iran. Sampling method for this study was all of pregnant women in Ravar and random stratified sampling in Kerman. data were collected using a structured questionnaire. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS Software, version 20.0 (IBM SPSS, Armonk, NY, USA). Chi-square test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Logistic regression were used for associations and differences.
Results: The mean UIC was 200.21 µg/L in pregnant women of Ravar and 238.79 µg/L in pregnant women of Kerman. 22.7% of pregnant women were with low concentrations of iodine, 57.8% within the normal range and 19.5 percent were with high iodine concentrations in Ravar. While 5.3 percent of pregnant women were with low concentrations of iodine, 54.5% were within the normal range and 40.1% were with high UIC in Kerman. There were no significant differences between demographic variables and UIC in the two regions (P> 05/0). Multivariate regression models showed significant connections between the residence and UIC pregnant women (P< 0.001).
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that UIC in pregnant women of Ravar was significantly lower than Kerman and the place of living can be considered as a predictor of UIC in pregnant women.

Abstract
Background: Cancer of the endometrium is the most common gynecologic malignancy in western and industrial countries, and is the second most common in developing countries, therefore it is of special importance. Adenocarcinoma of the endometrium is the most common type of uterine cancer. The prevalence of endometrial cancer in young women under the age of 40 in western country is very low and about 5 percent. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of endometrial cancer at age ≤40 years in our center during 4 years.
Methods: In a cross-sectional study, all medical records of patients with endometrial cancer in Ghaem University Hospital, Mashhad, Iran was reviewed to identify women <40 years of age with endometrial cancer, over the course of 4 years, (from 2012 to 2015). The risk factors for endometrial cancer, such as obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCO), infertility, and a history of cancer in the family or individual, were collected in each patient. Clinical features, histological type of endometrial carcinoma, and therapeutic action also were gathered.
Results: A total of 119 patients with endometrial cancer that was admitted in our genecology oncology center were evaluated. 19 patients (15.9%) were younger than 40 years old. 16 cases (84.2%) with endometrial adenocarcinoma and 3 (15.7%) had endometrial stromal sarcoma. The youngest patient was 27 years old and the oldest was 39 years. Seven patients (8/36%) had infertility and we don’t know about fertility condition in 3, because they were single. 12 cases (63%) were overweight (BMI≥35) and 6 cases (5/31%) had polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). In 2 patients, there was concomitant ovarian and endometrial cancer. Histology report of both ovaries was endometrioid and both patients were overweight. Obesity, poly cystic ovary syndrome (PCOD) and Infertility were the most important risk factors for endometrial cancer in young patients.
Conclusion: The prevalence of endometrial cancer in young women under the age of 40 in our country is so higher than the statistics provided in industrial countries.

Abstract
Background: Hepatitis B is the most common blood-borne viral infection that is considered as a major public health problem of the world's major health problems. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection among blood donors referring to blood transfusion centers.
Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study was performed on 216004 volunteer blood donors referring to blood transfusion centers of Iran from the beginning of April 2011 to April 2015. Then the positive hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) test was performed using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and neutralization methods.
Results: Of the 216004 blood donors, 279 (12.12%) were positive for HBsAg, and the incidence of infection was a decreasing trend over a four-year period. Among HbsAg positive cases, 97.14% and 2.86% were male and female, respectively. Significant differences between males and females were found (P=0.000). The number of HBsAg positive cases among married people (238 cases, 85.3%) in compared with single people (41 cases, 14.7%) was significantly higher (P=0.000). The average age of HBV infected cases was 39.6±10.3 years. Most HBsAg positive cases were 45-36 years old (30.8%) and lowest prevalence was seen in the age group above 56 years old (4.6%). Highest infected people with Hepatitis B Virus had low degree of education. Relationships between HBV infection with age and degree of education were statistically significant (P=0.000).
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that based on our findings, prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen among blood donors have declined significantly during the four years of study.

Abstract
Background: Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress are the two essential factors determining ulcerative colitis (UC) onset and severity status. In present study, we aimed to investigate short-term effects of ginger (Zingiber officinale) as a well-known antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent on the quality of life, disease activity index and some of inflammatory and oxidative stress factors in patients with active mild to moderate UC.
Methods: This study was a double blind placebo controlled randomized clinical trial conducted in nutrition and diet therapy clinic of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Science, Tehran, Iran, from October 2017 to June 2018. Forty-six patients with active mild to moderate UC daily consumed four capsules of 500 mg dried ginger powder or similar placebo through eating their meals for 6 weeks. Before and after intervention, we analyzed patient´s scores of disease activity index, by simple clinical colitis activity index questionnaire (SCCAIQ) as well as their quality of life using inflammatory bowel disease questionnaire-9 (IBDQ-9). We also measured serum concentrations of total antioxidant capacity (TAC), malondialdehyde (MDA), tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), high sensitive (hs)-CRP and nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) in fasted blood samples of each participant. Additionally, anthropometric and dietary intake values of energy, macro/micronutrients and minerals of all of participants were assessed at the same time.
Results: While the mean of anthropometric measures and dietary intake values remained unchanged during the study, MDA level decreased in ginger group (P=0.04) compared with placebo group. Additionally, ginger supplementation successfully lowered serum levels of TNF-α and disease activity index after 6 weeks of intervention compared with baseline in ginger consumer group, however the increase of quality of life score was not statistically significant in mentioned group versus baseline values. No significant change in other study outcomes was observed at the end of 6 weeks within and between groups.
Conclusion: Our data indicates that two grams per day supplementation with dried ginger powder can reduce oxidative stress level of patients with active mild to moderate UC.

Abstract
Background: Tissue engineering is a developing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary field involving the use of bioartificial implants for tissue remodeling with the target for repair and enhancing tissue or organ function. Acellular nerve has been used in experimental models as a peripheral nerve substitute. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the mechanical and histological characteristics of acellular nerve scaffolds compared to the fresh nerve for application in environmental nerve repair.
Methods: This experimental study was conducted in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Regeneration Research Laboratory, Mashhad, Iran, from May 2017 to October 2018. In this study for preparing the scaffold. The rats were sacrificed by intraperitoneal anesthesia with 10 % Chloral Hydrate solution. Then sciatic nerve fragments of the rats were removed above the nerve branching site and after cleansing of the tissues were decellularized by Sondell method, briefly nerves were treated with a series of detergent baths consisting of distilled water for 8 h, Triton X-100 for 12 h, and sodium deoxycholate for 24 hours according to the Sondell protocol. All acellularization steps were performed at room temperature. Then decellularized scaffolds were evaluated histologically and mechanically.
Results: The results of tissue evaluations showed that decellularization of scaffolds were done completely, this was demonstrated by hematoxylin and eosin staining and DAPI staining. Also the specialized tissue evaluations by picro-fuchsin staining and evaluation the scaffolds by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs showed that the collagen and elastin strands are relatively preserved in the extracellular matrix in comparison with control groups. As well as mechanical examination of scaffolds in tensile test showed that extracellular matrix of scaffolds was relatively preserved the main components of tissue compared to control group and scaffolds have good mechanical resistance quality for use in tissue engineering.
Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that decellularized scaffolds that prepared with Sondell decellularization method by preserving the main components of the tissue can be a good platform for investigating cellular behaviors.
