Abstract
Introduction: In the patients with smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) bacteriologic assessment of sputum for detection of acid bacilli (AFB) Has essential role. This evaluation is accomplished by direct sputum smear & sputum culture. These examinations must be done in regular and preferably monthly after beginning of treatment. These tests have two important aims, including, determining of treatment efficacy & duration of isolation.
Methods and Materials: Most of the studies have that classic six month regimen led to sputum smear conversion & negative sputum culture in 85% of patient. This treatment regimen has two phases, including, attack phase and maintenance phase. In the attack phase we use four drugs, including, Isoniazid (INH), Rifampin (RMP), Pyrazinamide (PZA) and Ethambutol (EMB) for the first 2 months and if necessary until the end of third month. In the maintenance phase we use INH and Rif for the remaining of treatment course. The main objectives of this study were to determine the time needed for smear conversion and assessment of probable factors which may influence the smear conversion until 4 months after beginning of therapy. The factors that were assessed, were, Age, nationality, sex, clinical symptoms, underlying diseases, chest radiography (number of cavities), smoking, drug abuse and concentration of AF13 in the sputum Generally, we did this cross sectional study on the patient's records, who had been observed in Imam Khomeni Hospital, west health service center and masih daneshvary hospital between.
Results: This study showed that from totally 218 patients, 138(74.6%) patients had sputum conversion at the first 2 months of treatment and until the end of 3rd & 4th month this rate reached to 83.3% respectively. So in the end of fourth month only 32(14.7%) patients did not show sputum smear conversion. On the other hand this study showed that two factors including presence of cavities in chest radiography & concentration of AFB in the sputum are influencing this rate strongly.
Conclusion: Role of other factors such as age, nationality , Smoking, diabetes mellitus and weigh loss are controversial and another studies are necessary for confirming their roles. Other factors including sex, clinical symptoms has not been show to be important. Some factors such as drug abuse and immunosuppresive therapy has not been assessed in this study, because number of cases were not enough for statistical analysis.

Abstract
Background: There are several techniques for reducing the delivered dose from CT (Computed tomography) scanning such as the automatic exposure control (AEC). This technique modulates the tube current regarding the patient size and weight. The aim of this study was to estimate the effect of the AEC on the radiosensitive organs effective doses in women undergoing chest CT scanning.
Methods: This study was a cross-sectional, analytical and quantitative study that was performed during 3 months in the imaging section of the Firoozgar educational and therapeutic hospital (belonging to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences) in the spring of 2017. CT scan exposure parameters were gathered and registered for 54 women undergoing chest CT scan. 25 of these scans were performed using AEC system and 29 of them were performed without using AEC. CT dose indexes in the center and peripheral regions of the standard phantom were calculated using the exposure parameters. Weighted CT dose index was also calculated and effective organ doses were obtained using CT-Expo software, version 2 (Medizinische Hochschule, Hannover, Germany) for two mentioned groups. In addition, noise was measured for these two groups as an image quality parameter.
Results: Calculated weighted CT dose indexes were 9.94 mGy and 12.46 mGy using AEC system and without using AEC, respectively. The calculated effective doses were equal to 5.4 mSv and 6.3 mSv using AEC and without using AEC, respectively. Maximum organ effective doses were 15, 14, 14 and 14 mSv for breast, esophagus, lung and thymus respectively in the non-using AEC system imaging technique.
Conclusion: Our measurements indicated a decrease about 15% in weighted CT dose index (from 12.46 to 9.94 mGy) using AEC system. Beside of this fact, the noise increased about 11.3% (from 4.2 to 4.74) using AEC system. So, it can be said that using of AEC was an effective way for dose reduction in women undergoing chest CT scanning, and the additional noise was in the acceptable range.

Abstract
Background: Hypertension is an important and controllable risk factor for heart diseases, stroke, renal failure and peripheral vascular disease. The aim of this study was to determine the level of awareness of patients with hemorrhagic stroke to control blood pressure and to provide solutions to improve patients’ awareness.
Methods: This study is a descriptive cross-sectional study that was conducted to evaluate the knowledge of patients with hemorrhagic stroke about the use of antihypertensives. The study population consists of all patients with hemorrhagic stroke, who were admitted to the intensive care unit of Imam Hossein Hospital in Tehran from September 2020 to March 2021. Data related to blood pressure awareness and drug history was completed by the researcher through the method of direct contact with the patients or their relatives. In this study, 17 patients diagnosed with hemorrhagic stroke due to hypertension who were admitted to the intensive care unit of Imam Hossein Hospital in Tehran, were included. The extent of the exact treatment adherence was assessed using the Morisky questionnaire.
Results: In this study, the median of patients age was 67 and 10 (58.82%) of them were women. The median systolic and diastolic blood pressures were 170 and 95 mmHg on admission. 4(23.53%) subjects were not aware of the disease. Out of 13 people who were aware of their hypertension, 11(64.71%) were under the supervision of a physician. However, 7(63.64%) of the subjects, despite being under the supervision of a physician and acceptable drug adherence, did not have controlled blood pressure and expired.
Conclusion: This study is a warning for patients and health care providers to pay more attention to blood pressure control. Furthermore, educating the community as well as medical staff about the importance of timely diagnosis and accurate treatment of hypertension is highly recommended.
