Abstract
Background: Rotational deformity after intramedullary nailing is a well-known complication. Femoral malrotation is the most common form of mal::::union:::: but it is underrecognized in part because of the difficulty in accurately assessing rotation as well as the variation that exists in normal anatomy. The aim of this study was to evaluate femoral malrotation following intramedullary nailing of the femur.
Methods: We studied 70 patients who had referred to Imam Khomeini Hospital and had undergone antegrade intramedullary fixation for isolated femoral shaft fracture during 3-year period from 2008 to 2011. Inclusion criteria including isolated femoral shaft fracture that had undergone antegrade intramedullary nailing. Exclusion criteria including spontaneous ipsilateral tibial fracture or pelvic fracture, contralateral femoral fracture, femoral fracture that had fixed using plate or external fixator or retrograde intramedullary nailing. During operation, the patients were assessed clinically for rotational deformity and then in the postoperative follow-up period, degree of rotation was identified with CT scan. Postoperative computed tomography measurements of rotation were compared with the opposite side.
Results: There were 70 patients, 56 men and 14 women. The average age of the patients was 28.21±14.39 patients (55/7%) had external rotation and 31 patients (44/3%) had internal rotation. The mean of malrotation degree in physical examination was 4/67 and The mean of malrotation degree in CT scan was 7. Degree of malrotation deformity, less of 5º, 5 to 10º and 10 to 15º was less of 8.6%, 75.7% and 15.7% respectively. Degree of malrotation didn’t relate to age, sex, fracture location and activity of the patients (P> 0.05).
Conclusion: Rotational deformity in 28% of the patients was equal to more 15º. This complication didn’t relate to fracture location. The patients with external rotation deformity had more symptoms than the patients with internal rotational deformity but there isn’t significant relation in this study.

Abstract
Background: Helicobacter pylori has been classified as the class I carcinogenic agent by world health organization. Colonization of the human stomach with H. pylori is a risk factor for gastroduodenal diseases. The secreted vacA toxin is an important H. pylori virulence factor that causes multiple alterations in gastric epithelial cells and T cells. Several families of vacA alleles have been described, and H. pylori strains containing certain vacA types (s1 and m1) are associated with an increased risk of gastric disease, compared to strains containing other vacA types (s2 and m2). We examined the association between H. pylori vacA s alleles and gastroduodenal diseases in Iran.
Methods: A total of 149 H. pylori strains were obtained from patients with gastritis, peptic ulcer, and gastric cancer referring to endoscopy units of several cities in Iran. Biopsy culture and DNA extraction were performed and the frequency of vacA s alleles was investigated by using PCR amplification. Linear regression and binary logistic regression models were used to analyze the association between vacA (vacuolating cytotoxin A) s alleles and gastroduodenal diseases.
Results: There was no significant association between the frequency of vacA s alleles and gastroduodenal diseases (gastritis or peptic ulcer disease and gastric adenocarcinoma (P> 0.05)).
Conclusion: It is proposed that the H. pylori vacA s1 genotype could not be considered as an important determinant of gastroduodenal diseases in Iranian population and probably if s1 allele is associated with other virulence alleles of this gene, it will cause diseases.

Abstract
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is the causative agent in development of gastroduode-nal diseases, such as chronic atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcers, mucosa associated lym-phoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, and gastric cancer. H. pylori has been associated with inflammation in cardia, showing the fact that infection with this bacterium could also be a risk factor for gastric cardia cancer. Gastric cancer is the fourth most common cancer worldwide. This is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths, and ap-proximately 700,000 people succumb each year to gastric adenocarcinoma. It has been estimated that 69% of the Iranian population currently harbor H. pylori infection. The prevalence of duodenal ulcer and gastric cancer is high in Iranian populations. However, this has been largely influenced by geographic and/or ethnic origin. Epidemi-ology studies have shown that host, environmental, and bacterial factors determine the outcome of H. pylori infection. The bacterium contains allelic diversity and high genet-ic variability into core- and virulence-genes and that this diversity is geographically and ethnically structured. The genetic diversity within H. pylori is greater than within most other bacteria, and its diversity is more than 50-fold higher than that of human DNA. The maintenance of high diversification makes this bacterium to cope with particular challenges in individual hosts. It has been reported that the recombination contributed to the creation of new genes and gene family. Furthermore, the microevolution in cagA and vacA genes is a common event, leading to a change in the virulence phenotype. These factors contribute to the bacterial survival in acidic conditions in stomach and protect it from host immune system, causing tissue damage and clinical disease. In this review article, we discussed the correlation between H. pylori virulence factors and clin-ical outcomes, microevolution of H. pylori virulence genes in a single host, microevolu-tion of H. pylori during primary infection and progression of atrophic gastritis to ade-nocarcinoma, and H. pylori infection status in Iran. Finally, we put forward the hy-pothesis that if the pattern of nucleotide sequence evolution shifts from recombination (r) to mutation (m) and the r/m ratio is reduced, bacterial pathogenicity may be re-duced while maintaining the bacterial life. However, this hypothesis should be further studied with future experiments.

Abstract
Background: Tumoral calcinosis is a hereditary disorder of metabolic dysfunction of phosphate regulation. It is an idiopathic calcinosis that characterized by the deposition of calcium phosphate in periarticular tissues that causes typically lobulated, well demarcated calcification around large joints particularly the extensor surfaces. It is usually painless. It is common in puberty age and adolescents. The involvement of the hand phalanges is very rare that can make a mistake in diagnosis if it is infected.
Tumoral calcinosis is seen the same in both sexes. The electrolyte levels of calcium and phosphorus is normal and sometimes is hyperphosphatemia. It is the first report of tumoral calcinosis in Iran.
Case report: A 7-year-old girl presented with redness, yellowish discharge and painful swelling of the left hip and the third web space of left hand admitted to Vali-e-Asr Hospital, Tehran, Iran, in 2013. The onset of the disease was 3.5 years ago. She did not mention the family history of the disease. The pain was at the left hip first. Six months later the third and fourth phalanges of the left hand was swollen. Physical examination revealed an erythematous mass in the extensor surfaces of the third and fourth metacarpals of the left hand. It was tender in palpation. The smear and culture of discharge was staphylococcus aureus. X-rays revealed calcification of the third and fourth metacarpals of the left hand. The entire lesion was managed by surgical excision. Successful postoperative medical management in the form of low calcium and low phosphorus diet and oral cloxacillin was performed.
Conclusion: Tumoral calcinosis involves rarely the interphalangeal joints of hand. Because of its compression over adjacent nerves, it is painful. Sometimes it has a sterile discharge and rarely superimposed infections may occur. Radiologists can play a major role in early diagnosis and probable complications.

Abstract
Background: Coriander with the binominal name of Corianda Sativum, is one of the oldest medicinal plants ever known to man. Anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal effects of its oil has been mentioned in numerous studies. This study examines the impact of coriander cream on wound healing of the second-degree singe burn.
Methods: In this experimental study which was performed in the animal lab of the Hazrat Fatemeh Hospital in Tehran, 48 adult male rats with an approximate weight of 250-300 grams, with deep burns of 2 cm 4×2 dimensions were prepared and divided into 4 groups of 12. We used silver sulfadiazine cream, alpha ointment, coriander cream and vaseline gauze (control group) dressings in burn wound of the groups 1 to 4 respectively. At the end of the study (30 days), rats were euthanized with a high dose of thiopental and the wounds were evaluated on days 10 and 17 with a punch biopsy. Samples were fixed with 10% formalin on histopathology slide using haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining (to assess and determine the presence of inflammatory cells). The amount of fibrin and collagen at the site were evaluated using a software program ImageJ, version 1.45 (National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA).
Results: The mean of wound surface area in the first photography was no significant (P= 0. 135). The rate of wound healing in alpha ointment and coriander cream had better outcomes than either of the other two groups (P= 0.000). The healing of the wound in silver sulfadiazine group was significantly less than other groups. Pathology results showed a statistically significant difference between the four groups (coriander, alpha, SSD and control), based on the Kruskal-Wallis test. These relate to (1) polymorphonuclear in the first (P= 0.032) and the second series (P= 0.003), (2) Angiogenesis in the second series (P= 0.004). (3) Fibrosis in the first series (P= 0.024) and the second series (P= 0.000).
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that wound healing improvement in coriander cream group was better than the control group and silver sulfadiazine group and similar to alpha ointment group.

Abstract
Background: Metformin has been suggested as anti-cancer in retrospective studies. We design a prospective controlled study about metformin efficacy in the window time between biopsy and definite surgery with changes of Ki-67 as the primary endpoint.
Methods: The primary cohort had composed of 50 pathologically diagnosed invasive breast cancers, accrued in Medical Oncology Department of Iran Cancer Institute from February to November 2014. Patients neither had indication of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, nor involved with diabetes mellitus. They followed during the time period of biopsy and definitive surgery with taking tests on pathology specimens for ER, PgR, HER-2/neu and Ki-67 index. We checked fasting insulin and glucose level as well as quality of life and adverse effects in both times in the intervention group. Metformin (1500 mg/day) was prescribed to intervention group from pathology report to the night before surgery.
Results: From 45 patients, 25 had been received metformin for median time of 2.8 weeks. Controlled group included 20 patients who followed in the window time. There were no statistically significant differences between two groups regarding baseline clinical and tumor characteristics such as age, stage, grade, ER, PgR, HER2 status, time and type of surgery. However, immunohistochemistry study showed decrease of median Ki-67 from 35.14 to 29.6% in the intervention group and increase from 24.5 to 30.6 in the control group. Both of these results were statistically significant. Patients tolerated metformin very well, but mild gastrointestinal symptoms were seen in 30% of cases. There was a correlation between metabolic factor of HOMA score (fasting insulin level fasting blood sugar/405) and changes in Ki-67.
Conclusion: In the present study metformin prescription in the short period of time between Biopsy and definite surgery had shown inhibition of breast cancer cell growth. We found relationship between metformin anti-proliferative effect and glucose and insulin metabolism. To find direct apoptotic stimulation of metformin and long-term results of this drug further studies in the adjuvant settings with cooperation of pharmacokinetic groups are recommended.

Abstract
Background: Acute and chronic wound healing has always been problematic. Stem cells with or without the scaffold carrying these cells have been proposed as new methods in the treatment of wounds. In this case study we have tried to examine the effect of scaffold made of polyether sulfone (PES) alone, with stem cells and along with stem cell and growth factor on wound healing in rats.
Methods: This experimental study was conducted in Animal Laboratory of Hazrat Fatemeh Hospital in 2012. In this study, 48 rats were randomly divided into four groups. A wound created on the back of each rat at the size of 3×3 cm. The surface of the wound in the first group is covered with PES seeded with adipose-derived stem cell (ASC) and growth factor (GF), in the second group with polyether Sulfone seeded with ASC, in the third group only with PEWS, and in the fourth group (control) with Vaseline gauze. On 20th and 35th days, the surface of the wound was assessed by photography in order to understand the process of healing. In addition, on days 20 and 45, the histopathology characteristics of the samples were studied with a biopsy of the wounds.
Results: The Results of wound healing in the control group was better than the other groups and its statistical difference between others was meaningful. (P=0.008, P=0.013, P=0.001) On day 20, by examining histopathological characteristics including epithelialization, the number of inflammatory cells, the amount of angiogenesis and collagen synthesis in control group, we gained better results. (P=0.000), But on day 45, the results in different parameters were not equal.
Conclusion: polyether sulfone scaffold alone or with adipose-derived stem cells couldn’t improve the process of wound healing. Also adding vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) did not change the results significantly.

Abstract
Background: One the ways to deal with the adverse effects of oxidative stress caused by exercise activities is to use oral antioxidant supplements or to apply natural remedies. Sesamin is the most prominent lignan compound found in sesame seeds, one of the two highest sources of lignans in the human diet (the other being flax). Sesamin is catered to be a nutritional supplement that confers antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects or possibly being an estrogen receptor modulator and fat burner. For this purpose, the present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of 10 weeks supplementation of sesamin and aerobic exercise on plasma levels of total antioxidant capacity and glutathione peroxidase in athletic men.
Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, in Azarbayjan Shahid Madani University of Tabriz City from January to March of 2016 ,40 male subjects aged between 25 and 20 were randomly selected from placebo (10 subjects) and aerobic exercise (10 students), aerobic training+sesamin (10 people) and sesamin (10 people). The aerobic exercise protocol is (ten weeks / three days / 30-35 minutes). Blood samples were collected from subjects in six stages to evaluate the considered variables. Measurement of levels of antioxidant capacity and glutathione peroxidase measurements were conducted by the Antioxidant capacity and GPX assay kit (ZellBio, German). For data analysis, repeated measures of variance analysis at a significant level of 5 hundredths were used by employing SPSS software, version 20 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA).
Results: Subjects who took sesamin supplementation and performed aerobic exercise showed a significant difference in the levels of total antioxidant and glutathione peroxidase capacity in the groups (P<0.05). Also, the changes in total antioxidant and peroxide levels after interference (steps 4, 5, 6) and before interference (steps 1, 2, 3) had meaningful differences in obtained results (P=0.001). Also, the interactive effects of group and time on total antioxidant capacity and glutathione peroxidase were also significant (P=0.001).
Conclusion: Aerobic exercise and supplementation of sesamin is an effective method to improve the health of mens athlete's immune system. In addition, combining supplementation with aerobic exercise can increase some of the beneficial effects of exercise during a 10-week period.

Abstract
Background: Burns is a major health problem due to severe side effects and limited financial resources. Some herbs are cheap and available, such as Arnebia euchroma can be effective treatment of burn wounds and reduce recovery time. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Arnebia euchroma ointment on healing of deep second-degree burn wound in rats.
Methods: This experimental study was conducted in animal laboratory of Hazrat Fatemeh Hospital in 2015, Tehran. In this study 24 male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing approximately 300 to 350 g were selected. After general anesthesia, back of each rat was shaved with clipping device. Then second-degree burn with the area of 2×4 cm was induced on them. Rats were randomly divided into 2 groups, 12 in each. The surface of the wound in the first group was covered with Arnebia euchroma ointment and in the second group with Vaseline. Dressing was done daily until complete recovery and the wound healing process was monitored by photographing every five days. On day 20, the samples were sent for pathological evaluation of the amount of collagen and inflammatory cells.
Results: Results showed that, during days from 5 to 15 the extent of the wounds reduced in both groups (P= 0.000). The reduction of wound size was significantly higher in Vaseline group compared to Arnebia euchroma ointment group (P= 0.040). The results of the pathological examination showed no significant difference in the amount of collagen and inflammatory cells in the two groups.
Conclusion: It seems Arnebia euchroma ointment to some extent reduced the extent of the wound especially in superficial burns compared to other dressings. However, it is better to conduct more similar studies with a larger sample size and different method and change in timing of dressing.

Abstract
Background: Bronchiolitis is one of the most common diseases of the lower respiratory tract in infants. Vitamin D has been shown to be protective against lower respiratory infections; however, there are limited and contradictory results in relation to serum vitamin D level and the incidence of bronchiolitis in children. The aim of this study was to compare serum levels of this vitamin in healthy infants and infants with acute bronchiolitis.
Methods: This case-control study conducted at Abuzar hospital in Ahvaz city, during October to March of 2014. Three groups of 45 eligible infants including control, low and high intensity of bronchiolitis enrolled to study. The severity of bronchiolitis classified according to scores derived from the respiratory distress assessment index. One to eight scores considered as low intensity and 9 to 17 scores considered as high intensity of bronchiolitis. Subsequently, 3 ml of venous blood sample were taken from them and the serum levels of 25(OH)D were measured by using an enzymatic kit.
Results: 60 (44.4%) infants were girls. The mean age of the control, low and high intensity of bronchiolitis groups were 11.2±5.2, 10±5.8 and 9.8±4.7 months, respectively (P=0.1). The mean of 25(OH)D concentrations in the control, low and high intensity bronchiolitis groups were 28.3±19.4, 17.7±11.7 and 13.6±5.7 nm/l, respectively. There was a significant difference in levels of 25(OH)D between the control-low intensity bronchiolitis groups (P=0.001) and the control-high intensity bronchiolitis groups (P=0.002), this difference was not significant between the two groups of bronchiolitis. There was a direct and significant correlation between serum level of 25(OH)D and age (r=0.2, P=0.005), breast milk consumption (r=0.3, P=0.001), and vitamin D supplementation (r=0.6, P=0.000).
Conclusion: In the present study, levels of 25(OH)D were significantly lower in infants with bronchiolitis than control group. In addition, 25(OH)D levels did not affect the severity of bronchiolitis.

Abstract
Immunotoxins such as pseudomonas exotoxin are Molecules with a unique structure like toxin-antibody part. These immunotoxins are two functional which crossing the cell membrane and enters the target cell and destroy the cell. Toxin-based treatments are a widespread research field and can have broad applications in the biology and public health. Immunotoxins act selectively against cancer cells and have a good potential for detecting and targeting cancer cells. Specific immunotoxins to target immune cells due to the selection type antibody and antibodies are responsible for the identification of the target cells. Cancer is becoming a major cause of death in most developed countries. In order to have a strong factor in cancer repression, that agent must target the cancer cells directly and specifically. Often, but not always, immunotoxins are produced for disabling and killing cancer cells, that this issue is one of new therapeutic approaches in recently. Clinical aims to designing and create new cancer therapies focused with this approach, a lot of information about the toxin and intracellular pathways have been obtained. So, toxins in medicine are useful for the treatment of human disease and study of professional cellular functions. So, immunotoxins have a high potential for cancer treatment. Other applications of immunotoxins, including immune system regulation and treatment of viral diseases and parasites diseases. More research is needed to improve the immunotoxin effects and to reduce their side effects. On the whole, with design creative, clever and experienced programs, many human diseases, particularly cancers can be in a short period of time and faster than other methods of treatment that the treatment of long, to be treated. Following the design and implementation of clinical trials, the effects of immunotoxins on animal tumorigenic models were performed. In fact, in this study, we focus on the use of protein-bound toxins with bacterial and herbal sources and more specifically Pseudomonas immunotoxins which attached to antibodies to target cancer cells.

Abstract
Gastric cancer (GC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. It has been proposed that the specific genotypes of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) are the causative agents in the development of gastroduodenal diseases, such as chronic atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcerations, and GC. However, disease progression to GC occurs in only a small proportion of infected patients. Recently, we identified a novel polymorphic site in the 3ʹ-end region of H. pylori vacA gene. The vacA c1 genotype increased the risk of GC. This association was independent of and larger than the associations of the m-, i-, and d-type of vacA or cagA status with GC. Therefore, treatment of H. pylori infection may be an effective way to prevent GC. Expression of cytokines and their associations with inflammatory responses has been shown. Several cytokine polymorphisms, such as IL-1B, IL-8, IL-10, and TNF-α have been considered as risk factors for GC. It has been shown that the interaction of bacterial genotypes and host factors plays an essential role in developing GC. Several altered molecular pathways are involved in the pathogenesis of GC. Micro-RNAs are small, non-coding RNAs of 18-25 nucleotides in length that regulate the expression of target mRNAs. Expression pattern of cancer cells is different compared with the normal cells. Micro-RNAs plays a critical role in apoptosis and classified in two groups: pro- and anti-apoptotic agents. Recent studies have confirmed the oncogenic or tumor suppression role of micro-RNAs in cancer cells. They play a significant role in the GC cell physiology and tumor progression, by translational suppression of target genes. These small RNAs have therefore emerged as a new type of GC biomarker with immeasurable clinical potential. Generally, a variety of micro-RNAs involved in different stages of cancer, including tumorigenesis, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Considering to this issue more than 50% of cancers can be cured, if they were diagnosed in the early stages. Hence, identifying the biomarkers of GC could play an important role in prevention, early diagnosis and rapid treatment of patients. Abstract
Background: Coronary artery bypass surgery is one of the surgeries in which high blood transfusions are needed. About 20% of all surgical operations require a blood transfusion. Packed cell administration increases perioperative morbidity and mortality. In the United States, from every 1000 people, one has undergone a coronary artery bypass graft surgery, and it is estimated that around 800,000 coronary artery bypass grafts undergo each year. Knowledge about relative blood administration during coronary artery bypass graft surgery improves the ability of blood transfusion centers in healthy and adequate blood donations. For this purpose, this study was conducted to determine the effective factors in the need for blood in a coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 317 patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery in the heart surgery operating room of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Tehran, Iran, from September 2017 to February 2018. Sampling method has been available. The data of this study were extracted from patient files. The products analyzed in the study included packed cell, fresh frozen plasma and platelets. Demographic data, type of surgery, transfusion of blood and products, and hemoglobin level have been reported. P-value less than 0.05 was reported as meaningful.
Results: In this study, 317 patients underwent coronary artery bypass graft surgery. 236 cases (74.4%) were male and the rest were women. The mean of administration of packed cell in women was 2.74±1.3 and in men it was 2.29±1.09 (P<0.001). The mean packed cell administration in patients with hemoglobin levels less than 10 g/dl was 3.27±1.8 and in patients with hemoglobin levels greater than 10 g/dl was 0.99±2.25 (P<0.0001).
Conclusion: The present study showed that the mean transfusion of packed cells in women were more than men in coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Also, hemoglobin levels were the only factor that had a significant effect on infusion of packed cells.

Abstract
Background: In the last 10 years, co-infection of human immunodeficiency virus/human T-cell leukemia virus-1 (HIV/HTLV-1) has emerged as a worldwide health problem. These viruses has the same route to infect human but different effects on CD4 positive T-cells. There was controversial results about the influence of co-infection HIV/HTLV-1 pathogenesis. This study compared clinical course and laboratory findings in HIV/HTLV-1 co-infection with HIV mono infection.
Methods: This historical cohort study carried in Mashhad Consultation Center of Infective and Behavior Diseases, Mashhad, Iran, from April 2013 to march 2017. Persons who referred evaluated by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), then patients with positive ELISA test rechecked by ELISA and Western blot. Platelet count, WBC count, neutrophils count, positive CD4 T-cells, staging and disease severity evaluated at diagnosis, in starting and after of antiretroviral therapy in mono and co-infected patients. Demographic characteristics, including age, educational level, occupational state, marriage situation, past medical history and high-risk behaviors were extracted from the files.
Results: Of 64 patients enrolled in this study, 61 persons were male. Of 64 participants patients, 42 persons were infected with HIV (35 persons of them were positive for hepatitis C virus), other 22 positive HIV cases, were co infected by HTLV-1 too (18 persons were positive for hepatitis C virus (HCV). Co infected patients had more history of high-risk situations specially intravenous drug abuse. The most common opportunistic infections was cryptogenic tuberculosis (TB), candidiasis and military TB. Opportunistic infections and lab findings (except for CD4 positive T-cell) were the same in both group. Clinical severity and disease staging did not differ significantly between two groups. Death was more common in co-infected group.
Conclusion: Clinical course in human T-cell leukemia virus-1 (HTLV-1) co-infection has not obvious differences with previously HIV patients compare with only HIV infected patients. In co-infection with the onset of treatment the increase in the level of CD4 positive cells was higher than that HIV infection.

Abstract
Background: Tissue engineering is a developing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary field involving the use of bioartificial implants for tissue remodeling with the target for repair and enhancing tissue or organ function. Acellular nerve has been used in experimental models as a peripheral nerve substitute. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the mechanical and histological characteristics of acellular nerve scaffolds compared to the fresh nerve for application in environmental nerve repair.
Methods: This experimental study was conducted in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Regeneration Research Laboratory, Mashhad, Iran, from May 2017 to October 2018. In this study for preparing the scaffold. The rats were sacrificed by intraperitoneal anesthesia with 10 % Chloral Hydrate solution. Then sciatic nerve fragments of the rats were removed above the nerve branching site and after cleansing of the tissues were decellularized by Sondell method, briefly nerves were treated with a series of detergent baths consisting of distilled water for 8 h, Triton X-100 for 12 h, and sodium deoxycholate for 24 hours according to the Sondell protocol. All acellularization steps were performed at room temperature. Then decellularized scaffolds were evaluated histologically and mechanically.
Results: The results of tissue evaluations showed that decellularization of scaffolds were done completely, this was demonstrated by hematoxylin and eosin staining and DAPI staining. Also the specialized tissue evaluations by picro-fuchsin staining and evaluation the scaffolds by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs showed that the collagen and elastin strands are relatively preserved in the extracellular matrix in comparison with control groups. As well as mechanical examination of scaffolds in tensile test showed that extracellular matrix of scaffolds was relatively preserved the main components of tissue compared to control group and scaffolds have good mechanical resistance quality for use in tissue engineering.
Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that decellularized scaffolds that prepared with Sondell decellularization method by preserving the main components of the tissue can be a good platform for investigating cellular behaviors.

Abstract
Background: Rapid repair of skin donor sites in partial-thickness skin grafts in burn is critical to the patient. Severe pain during dressing change and scarring also reduce the quality of life and treatment. Recently, nano-silver particles are available which have a high surface to volume ratio and remain effective even at a very low concentration and minimize the chance for tissue toxicity due to silver. Our aim in this study was to evaluate the effect of nano-silver dressings on increasing the rate of repair and reduction of complications in non-infectious wounds of skin graft donor sites.
Methods: This was comparison study that involved patients admitted to a single-center burn unit who required a skin graft donor site. 10 burn patients with thermal injury and 10-30% of total body surface area (TBSA) who referred to Shahid Motahari Hospital, Tehran, in 2016 were studied. Each patient was compared to herself. After anesthesia, the site of the skin graft was randomly divided into three sections in each patient and was covered with Agicoat®, Mepitel and vaseline gauze. On the 4th and 8th of the day, the pain was recorded during the dressing change on the basis of the visual analogue scale (VAS). After 6 months, the patients were evaluated for the remainder of the scars based on VSS (Vancouver scar scale).
Results: The mean time to repair in both groups were similar and significantly shorter than that of vaseline (P=0.005). The pain comparison between groups showed that on the fourth day, the mean pain in the Agicoat group and Mepitel was significantly less than the Vaseline group (P=0.004). Also, the mean pain of the epileptic group was significantly lower than that of the Vaseline group (0.002). However, there was no significant difference between the duration of regeneration and pain between the two groups of Agicoat and Mepitel, but there was no significant difference between the mean pain on the 8th day and the mean VAS 6 months after the graft.
Conclusion: Agicoat dressing has been effective in reducing pain and increasing the repair speed, but this effect was similar to that of the silver-free Mepitel dressing. Expensive silver nano-crystal dressings limit their use. The silver nanocrystal did not have much effect on improving the remaining scar. However, more studies are needed in this regard.

Abstract
Background: Laryngeal tuberculosis (TB) is one of the most common complications of pulmonary tuberculosis, which increased for various reasons such as more prevalence of immune system suppression diseases, increasing the survival of the elderly, immigrants from high-risk areas and the appearance of atypical or resistant organisms over the past two decades, and its clinical pattern changed compared to the past. In contrast to the past that patients complained about dyspnea, coughing and other symptoms, today, the main complaints of these patients are hoarseness and Odynophagia. In reality, the prevalence of laryngeal TB without pulmonary manifestation was increased these days. The purpose of this study was to evaluate these symptoms in laryngeal TB.
Case Presentation: In this case report study, we examined a 77-year-old man who was admitted to the otorhinolaryngology department of Shafa hospital of Kerman (an academic hospital of Kerman University of Medical Sciences), Iran in April 2019 due to hoarseness since 6 months before admission and the results of evaluation confirmed the presence of laryngeal tuberculosis in this patient. The patient treated with Anti-TB drugs (Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Pyrizinamide, and Ethambutol) according to standard protocol and responded appropriately to this medication regimen.
Conclusion: Although laryngeal tuberculosis is a rare disease, it still occurs. Therefore, by increasing the incidence of tuberculosis, changes in the clinical pattern and its spreading mechanism, physicians should always be aware of the unusual clinical features of laryngeal tuberculosis and the possibility of developing it for early diagnosis and treatment. It should be considered as a differential diagnosis in all laryngeal diseases to prevent the complications of the disease and decrease the risk of transferring it to other people.

Abstract
Background: Even after surgery, as the most effective treatment for colorectal cancer, about 30-40% of cases are recurring. Since growth inhibition is an important strategy in cancer treatment, many attempts are in the program to find new agents, so in this study, the cytotoxic and antimicrobial effects of Lactobacillus sakei on colon cancer cell line (HT-29) and some pathogenic microorganisms have been evaluated. Lactobacillus sakei is a probiotic that, when consumed affects the intestinal flora, causes beneficial effects on host health. Probiotics due to their anti-cancer effects, modulation of the differentiation process in tumor cells, changes in tumor gene expression and lack of immunological responses have attracted a lot of attention as a new and effective treatment for colorectal adenocarcinoma.
Methods: In the present study, which was conducted experimentally from May to September 2018 in bacteriology and Cellular and Developmental Research Centers of Islamic Azad University, Shahrekord branch, the antimicrobial activity of supernatant of Lactobacillus sakei was assessed by Well Diffusion Agar (WDA) method against some pathogenic bacteria. HT-29 Colorectal adenocarcinoma cancer cells were cultured in DMEM medium with 10% bovine serum. The cells were treated in 5, 15, 10 and 20 mg/ml concentrations of sakei metabolites and incubated at 24, 48 and 72 hours. Cell growth was analyzed by celltiter 96® aqueous one solution cell proliferation assay kit to the manufacturer's protocol in all three incubation times.
Results: The results of this study indicate that sakei was able to produce antimicrobial metabolites against pathogenic bacteria. Besides, the results of the celltiter 96® aqueous one solution cell proliferation assay showed that the bioavailability of HT-29 cell lines decreased at all concentrations of sakei metabolites in a dose and time-dependent manner.
Conclusion: Since lactic acid probiotic bacteria can alter the metabolic activities of the intestinal microflora, attach to carcinogens and destroy them, prevent carcinogenesis such as ammonia and secondary bile acids, producing anti-cancer substances and creating an acidic state to inhibit the growth and proliferation of carcinogenic bacteria, It seems that there is a good research field for the use of bioactive compounds produced by Lactobacillus sakei in the control of bacterial pathogens and treatment of human colorectal adenocarcinoma (HT-29).

Abstract
Background: Psoriasis is a chronic and recurrent inflammatory disease that involves skin, joints and different organ systems. It is associated with Multiple morbidities such as cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Due to the high importance of the association between psoriasis and CKD which results in major side effects the aim of this study was to evaluation of CKD and associated factors in Psoriasis patients at Razi Hospital, Tehran, Iran.
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted as a cross-sectional descriptive and analytical study to evaluate the frequency of CKD and associated factors in psoriatic patients admitted to the Razi Hospital whose last time of admission was from June 2018 to January 2019. According to the K/DOQI guideline, CKD is defined as the GFR<60 mL/min/1.73 m² during at least a period of three months. GFR was calculated based on the MDRD formula. The sample size was equal to 265. The hospital documents of inpatients who have been admitted to Razi Hospital wards or follow-up clinics during 2017-2019 were used for collecting information and data. This information has been extracted based on the initial checklist for data collection. Collected data has been analyzed and performed by using SPSS 25 software.
Results: The study found that 18 (6.8%) of psoriasis patients had CKD. Patients were in the age range of 3.5-92 years, the majority of them were in the age range of 18.65–79.7 years. 171 (64.5%) patients were male and 94 (35.5%) were female. 41 (15.5%) patients had diabetes, 94 (35.5%) had hyperlipidemia and 41 (15.5%) had hypertension. History of NSAID, Methotrexate, Cyclosporine, Acitretin, Infliximab, and Adalimumab medication use among 9 (3.4%), 205 (77.4%), 56 (21.1%), 147 (55.5%), 30 (11.3%), and 28 (10.6%) patients were observed, respectively. Also, 54 (20.4%) had a history of phototherapy. 217 (81.9%) of the psoriatic patients had CPP (Chronic Plaque Psoriasis) and 48 (18.1%) had PP (pustular Psoriasis) and finally, 21 (7.9%) of the patients had psoriatic arthritis.
Conclusion: The prevalence of CKD was shown to increase by age. The other correlated factors are diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. On the other hand, there was not found any significant correlation between drugs (NSAIDs, Methotrexate, Cyclosporine, Acitretin, Infliximab, Adalimumab) and CKD prevalence. There was also no significant correlation between phototherapy, psoriasis type and psoriatic arthritis, duration of psoriasis and CKD prevalence.

Abstract
Background: Cerebral palsy is a movement disorder syndrome in early childhood. Signs and symptoms vary among people and over time but include poor coordination, stiff muscles, and weak muscles. Some affected children can achieve near-normal adult lives with appropriate treatment. In recent years, transplantation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) has become a promising therapeutic strategy for CP. Every year, a lot of costs are spent on the treatment and management of this disease. The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and effectiveness of this method on CP.

Methods: This article is a systematic review. At first, a search strategy was written and performed in Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases(The search was conducted from March 14 to March 28, 2021), and the inclusion and exclusion criteria were determined. Study inclusion criteria: review studies, cohort studies, clinical trial studies (randomized and non-randomized), control case, and retrospective , exclusion criteria: non-English articles and studying on animals. After removing duplicate articles, two authors independently reviewed the studies according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Disagreements among the authors were resolved through discussion.
Findings: In total, 9236 articles were found in the initial search, after reading the titles, of 37 articles, 21 articles were selected in the abstract stage and 18 articles remained in the full-text stage. We finally found 18 articles that showed that using stem cell technology as a scientific method could improve sick patients’ quality of life and movement defects.
Conclusion: According to the available evidence and limited studies, stem cell technology can be safeand cost-effective in improving CP patients, but there is insufficient evidence. On the other hand, there are many studies confirming the effectiveness of these cells in the treatment of movement impairment. In conclusion, stem cells may have a very promising future. Finally, stem cell technology combined with innovative biotechnologies may soon bring promising results to patients.
